Great home and location

The house was beautiful and peaceful. The location and view was what we hoped for. Communication with the owner was fast and friendly. There were only a few minor downsides: the cleaning crew before we arrived did not clean the deck furniture. There was mouse/rat droppings ALL over the wood furniture and wall by the master bedroom as well as spider webs throughout the deck. Inside, anytime we cooked anything on top the stove or inside the stove, the smoke detector would sound off. Very annoying. The master bath toilet would stick anytime used. One couch was previously broken with boards holding the cushions which made it uncomfortable to sit on. Other than those, the house was beautifully designed and decorated. The owner was so easy to talk with.

Lakeside cabin

Great location - right across from Big Beak lake and a short walk to The Village, where many restaurants, shops and bars are located. Property Manager was very responsive and accommodated a late check in and early check out with no problem. The cabin itself had everything we needed.

Great property, just one inconvenient rule

We had a very pleasant stay and the property was great and exactly as advertised. The only pushback I would give is that while there is a cleaning fee, the property management has set a rule that the tenants must, not only, take all the trash from the property out, but transport the trash to an offsite location to be dumped. Carrying a bag of trash in my car to another location was pretty inconvenient and not exactly what you expect when you’re paying to stay on vacation, especially if there is a cleaning fee associated. Other than that, everything was fantastic and very smooth. We had a great time.

Wonderful cabin

Our family had a great time staying here. The location is within walking distance to the village. The owner supplied everything we needed such as towels, dishes, soap, shampoo, firewood and even electric blankets on the beds. Our stay was very comfortable and we will stay again.

18 to 88! Two thumbs Up from my youngest daughter (18) to my Dad age 88!

From beginning to end our stay was PERFECT! The cabin was clean, and had everything we needed! The location was beautiful with a lake view, and walking distance to everything we needed. The area was quiet and relaxing. The space was decorated beautifully and thoughtful! The owners even put up a Christmas tree! The only thing, that was minor, was having to pick up the key to the cabin and dropping it off at a location 10 minutes away. But we understand, we had to sign the contract.. other than that it was perfect! Thank you for sharing your property with us, we made beautiful memories!

Best of both worlds

This cabin was a perfect choice for us and it offered the best of both worlds. A quiet retreat when we water rest and relaxation and The Village is a short, 10 minute walk away so shopping, restaurants, music is close by. There is also a bowling alley near by and Big Bear Marina is literally down the street from the house if you’re interested in boating, fishing or jet skiing. Checking in was a breeze as well. We arrived after the management office closed but had been advised to call when we were about 20 minutes away and they had someone waiting to check us in. We opted to rent for an extra day so we did not have to rush to check out by 10am. We are already thinking about when we can go back and who we could bring with us.

Big Bear Vacation 2023

Our stay was amazing. Everything about the property was as described. The home was fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The area was beautiful and located next to marina. Our kids and family loved it! Very quiet in the evening. Perfect getaway for a few days!

Great location but not cleaned well and check in offsite

The location of the house was amazing. I didn’t realize when I booked that they use a property management office that is 15 minutes away from the house which added an extra 30 minutes to our drive. Which may not seem like a big deal but if you have a baby and a toddler it kinda is. I would love to stay again, but the house was not cleaned well. There was droppings from either mice or cockroaches in the kitchen and bathrooms. I can tell the place was not well cleaned because not only were there droppings under the kitchen table, there was also crayons. In the bathroom there was some tissues behind the toilet, droppings all along the walls and even a hairclip left on the ground, so it obviously was not cleaned well. I spend a lot of time on the ground because of having a baby and giving baths, so I noticed all this stuff. If the house is as cleaned well and the check in location was closer I would stay again.

Perfect Location

We loved the location of the cabin with it's beautiful lake view and only minutes to the Village and Snow Summit. My daughter also loved using a sled in the backyard--so fun. The cabin was cozy and kitchen was nicely stocked. The jacuzzi was hot and ready for us to use. We also greatly appreciated the owner accomodating our request to arrive a day later due to the weather/road conditions. The owner was also incredibly helpful when working through a couple things with the management company to make sure all was taken care of for us.

Lack of maintenance and cleanliness

The heater did not work the first night and maintenance was not sent out till the next day. We slept at 56 degree temperature and everyone was very cold. We started the fireplace and that barely helped. They fixed the heater the next day and they brought us space heaters so we were fine for the rest of the stay. Then we discovered a mouse that was eating our bread and snacks. We threw out a bunch of food that we brought with us and put the rest in the fridge for protection. There were mouse droppings in the cabinets. The kids were terrified and did not want to get out of their bedrooms. Maintenance never came to solve that problem. I requested a refund from management but they never called me back.

GREAT BIG BEAR HOME!!

We loved our stay and we will be back! The jacuzzi was awesome. The location could not be better. Beautiful lake views. Easy walk to downtown and the bowling barn. Rooms, beds and couches are all so comfortable! The living room offers so much space for lots of people to relax and watch movies etc. The Christmas tree is darling. The big beautiful windows allow you to enjoy the lake views from the couch or dining table. Kids loved sledding in the backyard and across the street at the lake. Washer/dryer worked great. We will be back for sure!

We fell in love with Big Bear Lake years ago and were very excited when we came across this property - we could not live without it. While it is centrally located - minutes to everything, it is located on a quiet street away from the hussle of the world.

Our favorite time of the day is sitting on the deck watching the colors of the sunset play on the lake while listening to the ducks chatter about their day's activities. And as we sit there, we notice that our cares of the day have slipped away.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this property because of the Lake, Mountain and Marina views - looking out over the lake and surrounding mountains, it truly embraces all that nature has bestowed on this land! Plus, it has easy access to the lake in the spring, summer and fall plus easy access to the cabin after heavy snowfalls - truly 4 Seasons of Fun!

What makes this property unique

It is centrally located so we can get to all the fun stuff within minutes - either walking or driving - either lake and mountain fun or snow fun - 4 Seasons of Fun! The big plus is being able to enjoy the sounds of the lake early in the morning and at sunset - listening to the ducks chatter about their day's plans while watching the sunrise over the mountains or their day's activities while watching the sunset over the lake is the best.
