We generally offer our home on Airbnb as we travel elsewhere. We are generally available through text or phone call for any needs that you may have.
The house is located in a friendly and welcoming West side neighborhood, with convenient access to Highway 97. Stroll into town for dinner along the Deschutes River or cross the footbridge to explore miles of gorgeous riverside trails. Just 3 houses away from First Street Rapids park.
Extremely convenient access to Hwy 97 (two blocks away). Walk/Bike access to Downtown Bend. Deshcutes River Trail and First Street Rapids Park is less than a block away. Boneyard pub is a 2 minute walk, Bend Brewing Co. (and all of downtown) is about a 13 minute walk along the river. You will have reserved parking in the driveway (though parking is free on the street as well). Public transport is not a convenient option. Biking is great -- bring your own, or rent from one of several nearby shops.
NO PARTIES. This is a quiet neighborhood, not a tourist hot-spot, and we want to share it with folks who want to enjoy themselves. However, the volume level needs to stay reasonable. We do have noise-monitoring devices (Minut sensors--please note they do not record/transmit anything, they just monitor noise levels) in the home.
Fireplace: feel free to use as you wish, it does a great job of quietly and comfortably heating up the living room. Turn it on via the black remote control mounted in the hallway, near the furnace thermostat. Please turn it down/off when you leave.
Laundry is in the room just to the right of the main entrance, as you walk in. Feel free to use it -- but go easy on the detergent, it is very concentrated (half a scoop is plenty). Also, please tightly close the door when not in use to prevent noise transmission into the neighboring studio apartment.
Please remember to turn off the front exterior lights at night -- our neighbor will appreciate it!
If you have major problems and cannot get ahold of us, please talk to our neighbor, Scott, across the street. He's very helpful and knowledgeable of the neighborhood, and central Oregon in general (he's an archaeologist).
The bed in the master bedroom has mattress warmers that are lovely if you prefer cool air but a warmer bed. There are two controllers (one for each side of the bed). We find that "low" is nice, but you'll need to let them 'pre-warm' the beds for at least 30 minutes before.
The living room's main light switches are found under the corner of the wood bartop.
To adjust the sound level on the TV, 'rock' the volume switch towards the top/bottom of the remote control. It is a little bit of an odd design. If you find it is "muting" the TV, you are pressing down on the button instead of forward/back.
EV charging is available for no charge. Please contact Ryan for details on the location of the 240V NEMA-50 receptacle (we do not have a cable, however).
