Hampton Creek Cabin Asheville
Family & Pet Friendly surrounded by Pisgah Forest
Looking for a place to enjoy nature with your family? Find the peace of the wilderness in your own private sanctuary. This vacation is all about the special property. You will drive one mile through the Pisgah National Forest before coming to your cabin nestled on 35 undeveloped acres. The 4,200 foot elevation means cool nights for comfortable sleeping where the only sounds you will hear are birdsongs and the creek and the only lights you will see are the fireflies. If you are looking for a true retreat for your family or a romantic renewal, you can come here to share time alone together. Children love to float on the private pond and young and old will enjoy the tranquil setting. The owner takes special pride in the flowers and vegetable garden. For an authentic family vacation, sit around a bonfire, feed the trout in the pond or help out in the garden and enjoy organic produce. There is endless hiking in the forest, whitewater rafting and fly fishing in local trout streams. The nearby town of Asheville offers arts, music, theater entertainment and many unique shops and restaurants. In winter, Hatley Pointe Ski Resort is less than 5 miles away. If you are hoping for a beautiful setting where there is much to explore and enjoy, this is the place for you!

Another great stay at the Hampton creek cabin. This cabin is a perfect quiet getaway. The cabin is well appointed and Terry is great with communication. A very nice grocery store is within a 15-20 minute drive. Although Asheville is a 40-45 min drive away, it is an easy drive and Asheville is always great to visit. The cabin is perfectly situated to spend time outdoors and to go on amazing hikes.

Thank you, Sephanie! It is always a pleasure to have your family stay at Hampton Creek Cabin! You are the perfect fit because you love nature, hiking and Asheville! I am glad you got to experience springtime in the mountains.
We had an amazing long Thanksgiving weekend at the Hampton Creek cabin. If you’re looking for a truly secluded place to stay to disconnect this is the place for you! We loved the seclusion and being completely surrounded by nature! It’s close to lots of hiking and even close enough to Asheville if you’d like to explore! Terry is an amazing host with detail instructions and goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is comfortable! We will be back!
Another NYE spent at the cabin was so peaceful and relaxing. We had snow the whole time! The cabin was perfectly equipped for our time there. The owner was incredibly responsive to all questions and concerns. This place is a favorite of my family and we will certainly be back.

Thank you and I am so glad that you and your family had a good time. You are always welcome and hope to see you again in 2024!
This is my family's third time staying at the Hampton Creek cabin. It is a wonderfully secluded cabin. My sons and new puppy loved all the time outdoors. We love how you can walk the property to reach the Appalachian trail. It has now become a tradition to hike to the Big Bald Summit. It's really secluded, which we love, so plan on bringing plenty of food. Asheville is a good 40 min drive, so not the most convenient to just pop into the city. But, that is perfectly fine with us. We love the cabin to get away and enjoy time together. The cabin is nicely equipped with everything you will need for your vacation.

Thank you, Stephanie! It is always a pleasure to host your family.
The Hampton Creek cabin was the perfect getaway for my family. We wanted a secluded cabin for NYE and we found it. The day we arrived, there was snow! Enough snow for my boys to play and go sled riding. We spent the majority of our time outdoors, hanging out by the pond, and walking the property. We did take a day to visit Asheville, but being covid and New Years, not many places were open. Our favorite day was hiking to big bald from the cabin. It’s a 8 mile trek round trip. It was a beautiful day for a hike and the views at the top were stunning. The cabin was clean and cozy. The cabin was fully stocked with all necessities. Terry was a great host and always available for questions or concerns. My family and I had a wonderful time!

Thank you, Stephanie! I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay.
My family and I came all the way from Houston, Texas to experience our thoughts and nature, and we got just that! Coming from a busy life, we wanted to disconnect and have an opportunity to really breathe and take it in. Terry (the property owner) was a delight and always super helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this property if you are in the mood to truly get away and be one with nature and silence.
Love this property. This is the second time we have stayed here. My son celebrated his birthday here last year, and the only thing he asked for this birthday was to return. Wonderful cabin with everything you will need for your stay. The fact that the you can walk the property, up a logging road, and then onto the Appalachian trail is the best part! If you want seclusion, this is the place for you.
We live in Chicago and were looking for a place to unplug and relax. The road in was a bit rough but once there we had the sanctuary we were looking for. My husband and a few kids hiked the trail that lead to the Appalachian trail and had a camping adventure. The pond and waterfalls were amazing, so relaxing. Terry is such a thoughtful host with such amazing goodies when we arrived and so responsive. Service is a bit iffy and couldn’t really check in with work but it was definitely needed. Sitting on the porch hearing the creek and reading my book was relaxation perfection! Thank you Terry for sharing your amazing cabin with us!
My wife, eight y/o daughter, and Labrador Retriever had a wonderful six day stay at the Hampton Creek cabin recently. It really is a beautiful and serene location! Terry was wonderful to work with and always very prompt in her communication. The property was very clean and well-appointed. We appreciated the opportunity to hike from the property itself and took advantage of Terry’s directions to meet-up with the Appalachian Trail from Hampton Creek. We also enjoyed the short drive to Rock Fork State park and went hiking there twice. The only negative concerns the drive up to the cabin from the main road. Please be aware that it is an ~ 10 minute drive on very narrow, rough, and unpaved ground. My truck has several scratches on it from driving the rough, narrow road that has trees and scrubs on both sides. Thanks again Terry, we will be back, perhaps this fall!

Thank you for your review and feedback. I am having the road worked on in May and part of that will be trimming the bushes along the edges.
Based on the pictures, I knew the property would be secluded, peaceful, and beautiful. But it was much more than I expected. I especially loved being able to go on a fun hike with my family without having to get in a car. The cabin was cozy, clean, and in great condition. We were provided with detailed information about everything we needed to know (thanks Terry!). My wife, children, and dogs all had a great time and I would definitely recommend to anyone. We are already talking about when we should visit again.

Thank you and I am so glad that you had fun family time together!
We just spent 4 nights at Terry’s mountain house outside of Mars Hill . We had the best time imaginable! Her cabin was the perfect fit for our family of 6 with 2 dogs . Secluded location , surrounded by snowy mountain tops and forest land . Our boys went sledding right outside her house for hours while my husband and I enjoyed the fire we build in the wood burning stove . Great hiking right off the property and at nearby Rocky Fork State Park . House is super cozy , well equipped and very clean . Terry is an outstanding host, and made sure we were well taken care off . I am sure we will be back !
We had a wonderful time And enjoyed a gorgeous white Christmas! Property was beautiful and so secluded, and the spacious cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable cozy stay in very cold temperatures. Terry was a very responsive host and went above and beyond. We hope to return to experience in another season!
We loved the cabin and Terry was a fantastic host. We went a few days before thanksgiving with our two tween/teen boys and golden retriever. We were lucky and had great weather. We hiked the AT up to big bald from the cabin. Was beautiful roughly about 9.5 miles @5 hours so were exhausted after for sure. Went ziplining with navitat and was a blast. Need to make reservations ahead of time. Ate at stack house in Mars hill for lunch one day; great food and local beer. Spent one full day out driving blue ridge parkway and went to Mt. Mitchell and Crabtree falls and ended in Asheville for dinner with the dog at outdoor restaurant. Beautiful scenery. Would love to return sometime.
We loved our stay at the cabin. It was so beautiful and secluded and you could walk to the AT. The pics don't do it justice. You are about 30 mins from Asheville. One thing to note, the road to the cabin is really rough an best suited for a SUV
Quiet property in woods setting. Nice cabin interior with nice accents and comfortable beds. Wood stove was wonderful for a cozy heat. Puppy enjoyed walking the property. WiFi was good.
Great week in a secluded spot, and still only 30 minutes from Asheville
Overall a great experience. The cabin is quite nice inside - full kitchen, open space living room, modern HVAC, comfortable beds, good water pressure, nice porch (screened in the back). Property has a large yard, access to a pond, fire pit, and garden. Can hike to the AT right from the property. Totally secluded from the world, or a short drive to Asheville. WIFI worked pretty well (cabin also included satellite TV but we did not use it). Plenty of space for 2-6 people.
The cabin was really clean and cozy. We loved the hiking on the property and the nearby AT. Terry is a great host and made finding the cabin easy even late at night.
We stayed for a month and loved every minute of it. Between the pond, stream, short walk to the AT, chickens & garden we were never at a loss of what to do. Terry is the most gracious host and I highly recommend the cabin.
An outstanding property, great hostess, and phenomenal setting. Absolutely loved our stay here. Isolated in all the right ways and so convenient to get on the Appalachian Trail (just be aware that the first 0.7 miles are a legit treck through the woods at a 16% incline!). The dog LOVED the hiking, the stream, waterfall, and pond. I think she's still pouting from having to leave. We'll definitely plan on going back.
My family was looking for some social distancing along a hiking trail, and this property was a perfect spot. While at the property, we enjoyed a swimming hole, fireflies, and camp fires. When we felt like stepping out for a hike, the Appalachian Trail was close at hand. We made numerous excursions in the area to check out waterfalls, swimming holes, nature trails, etc. Because of Covid-19, we steered clear of cities and enjoyed nature's bounty. My kids - ages 5, 10, and 12 - all had a great time. Terry, the property owner, was there in a pinch with recommendations when we asked. We enjoyed our stay, and hope to make the trip again in the future.
This place is a true natural paradise. It's nature and a quiet solitude for families. We enjoyed it
