AC • Lg Fenced Yard • Mtn Views • EV Charger ~ Antler Inn
Breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the view of Bear Mountain Ski Resort slopes while enjoying your morning coffee outside on the deck among the pines, or inside the cabin curled up next to the baby blue Swedish fireplace! Antler Inn offers a flexible floor plan and is perfectly located in Big Bear Lake's Moonridge neighborhood, and is just a short 5 minute walk to the zoo and shuttle for Bear Mountain Ski Resort, Snow Summit Ski Resort, and the Big Bear Lake Village.
The instant that you make your way up the stairs from the driveway and turn around, you will immediately understand the steepness of the driveway. You'll find yourself transported to a serene mountain cabin. Take a moment or hour to just sit in the chairs on the far side of the deck and enjoy the beautiful view of the ski slopes to your left. Once ready, the rustic wood grain deck invites you to enjoy the cabin inside.
Kitchen: Upon entering the cabin, notice the fully renovated kitchen, complete with quartz countertops, touch activated appliances, and mindful vintage touches throughout. Whether cooking a daily meal or a holiday feast, the kitchen is well appointed with a refrigerator, gas appliances, dishwasher and smaller appliances such as a microwave, toaster, hand mixer, crockpot, and coffee pot. There is even dishware for dining alfresco among the pines under the bistro lights!
The cabin is stocked with the staples: coffee, tea, sugar, sugar alternatives, and cream at the counter coffee station and you'll find spices in the cabinet and condiments in the fridge. Whether for cooking or simply just chatting, a bar height counter with stools is perfectly situated between the kitchen and the living room so you will always be a part of the conversation. An Alexa show device lives above the cabinets for on demand music and can also be used to help with timers while cooking, or any other random information you need a third party to weigh in on.
Living Room: Walking into the living room during daylight, you'll notice how the large windows illuminate the cabin fending off the need for electricity. Under the gorgeous pine ceiling and wood beams lies a large sectional couch with a chaise lounge (opens to a queen sized memory foam sofa sleeper) that is situated perfectly to stare out into the pines or enjoy a fire on a cool evening. After a long day of exploring Big Bear Lake, there is no better feeling than bundled up in a blanket on the couch listening to the crackling fire from the baby blue Swedish fireplace. The first bundle of firewood is included and pairs well with your family's favorite movie on the 42" Smart Roku TV!
Master Bedroom: Follow the hallway behind the fireplace and you'll head toward a bedroom and one of the bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed with a cooling gel mattress that is part memory foam, part coil, offering an option that is satisfying for those who appreciate a mattress on the firmer side, yet not so much that it is uncomfortable for those of us that appreciate a pillow top. Nightstands border the bed and dimmable sconce lights are mounted just above the nightstands on each side of the bed to make it easy to catch up on that favorite book just before bedtime. Silver branch curtains provide privacy, yet allow one to wake-up feeling like you backpacked in the mountains with the views of the pines! Prefer to sleep in and avoid the sunrise glow, close the blackout curtains and you'll be wondering what time it is. Across the room, you'll find a built-in armoire (which stores a fan and high chair) and a sink! Who knew how handy a sink in the bedroom could be, but trust me, you'll love it!
Upstairs Bathroom: Just across the hallway, you'll find a full bathroom with a full sized shower/tub combination. The showerhead has been extended to create a comfortable experience no matter how tall you are! There are plenty of hooks to keep everyone's towels separate. Open to the drawers to find the essentials -- a blow dryer and a first aid kit.
Dining Nook/Built-in Bunks - Third "Bedroom" Area: Walk back out to the living room and turn left to find the cozy dining nook. A dining table with a built-in bench and chairs is positioned under the window and seats 7, providing a private viewing of the large pines and mountain canvas beyond the sprawling deck at every meal. There are built-in bunk beds with new mattresses (comfortable for adults and kids alike) along with a closet (pack and play) and drawers. The bunk area was recently renovated with new paint and acoustic tiles now line the bunk bends walls, softening noise so the kids can head to bed a bit earlier. Each bunk has its own light. **Please note that we note that the bunk area/dining nook is semi-private, though it only walled on three sides and does not have a door, as it is open to the living room.
Backyard: The sliding glass door in the dining nook acts as a large looking glass to the rather large fully fenced-in yard where you will notice that there aren't any neighbors directly behind us, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the mountain life and truly relax! The sprawling three-tier deck is perfect for morning yoga, grilling out among the pines, or just relaxing after a long day around the large table! The deck boasts an outdoor dining table that seats 7, a Weber grill, and a built-in bench, which is perfectly situated to chat with the grill master. When warm enough, we encourage you to opt for dinner alfresco under the blanket of stars and the beautiful bistro lights. Sun sails have been added to keep the sun a bay for an enjoyable experience anytime of the day, and year!
Downstairs Bedroom/Game Room: Head back inside and down the recently updated spiral staircase (we re-built this by hand - think of layers of long puzzle pieces) to the second bedroom or what I like to think of as the land of opportunity! You may have noticed the second front door as you walked up the stairs. When snowing, I encourage you to enter through this door to avoid using those slippery steps. You'll notice you are able to prop open the door in the summer months for a beautiful breeze (enjoying the retractable screen door) or in the winter make use of the built-in coat hanging rack and bench to get those boots off. Boot trays are offered at the main entrances for you! Please note that this spiral staircase is fairly traditional in that the steps are smaller and it is not for ideal for those that may be unsteady. The downstairs ceiling does come up quick, so it's important to be mindful.
You'll find a queen-size daybed with a twin trundle, perfect for a couple or a small family. Both mattresses are memory foam. We choose this for the versatility - enjoy the second TV/game room vibe or sleep in the cool, dark room. It may just be the best sleep of your life! There is a 9ft shuffleboard table and a round game table with a cabinet full of board games (Monopoly, Jenga, Cranium, and more!). An Alexa show hangs on the wall to provide music on demand, and if you need to do some laundry after a long day on the slopes, the machines are here. Finally, an electric fireplace with a remote is always available to keep you cozy.
Downstairs Bathroom: One might consider the second bathroom to be en-suite, and it is located at the far end of the room and offers a large shower. We are still decorating and plan to add shelves and a closet, but it has the basics!
Front Patio: Just outside the downstairs bedroom sits a set of Adirondack chairs, perfect for enjoying the serene surrounds. An EV charger lives to the left, near the driveway.
Nestled in Big Bear Lake's Moonridge neighborhood among the breathtaking pine trees, the location seems to have it all. Antler Inn is walking distance to the zoo, Moonridge Corridor (Dank Donuts and Moonridge Coffee), and the free shuttle for Bear Mountain Ski Resort/Snow Summit Ski Resort/Big Bear Lake Village. Alternatively, you can walk to Bear Mountain Ski Resort and Bear Mountain golf course in 15 minutes. Antler Inn is a 6 minute drive to the lake (swimming, water skiing) and 8 minutes to the Village, making it the perfect location. In fact, Moonridge is one of the few areas in Big Bear Lake where the topography can turn a casual walk into a highlight of the trip, complete with breathtaking views of the lake.
Depending on your destination, you have a few options.
A car will always be your quickest and easiest bet, but I definitely understand wanting to park and leave the car. Please note that the driveway is a bit steep. It can be a bit unsettling when you first see it, but take it slow and keep a foot between you and the retaining wall. Enter at a slight angle in line with the retaining wall. We suggest high clearance vehicles, but have seen low clearance make it up fine though on the way down they can scrape a bumper.
The bus system is not super robust, but does run around the city and Antler Inn is 5-minute walk away from stop 215 (Moonridge & Sheephorn). Check out Routes 1 and 3. I provide more information in the cabin.
We love to walk the neighborhood and it is pretty easy to go to the zoo and really any of the shops on Moonridge Road. You can easily ride or rent bikes and can rent a scooter for a very reasonable amount when you check-in. We will provide all details.

"Tasha was a wonderful host and her house is beautiful. It was like staying at a friends house who has great taste and lets you use the nice towels and linens."
"We’ve stayed in a lot of Big Bear cabins over the years and this one really stands out. Tasha’s taste is impeccable. Not a wooden bear statue in sight! We stayed over Thanksgiving and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook our feast. And she also had so many cute touches for entertaining - linen napkins, woven placemats, water carafes. Also, the cabin had a Christmas tree up with Christmas lights outside.

I was up in Big Bear for the day hiking and decided last minute to just stay the night — so glad I did! The Antler Inn was the perfect place to stay after a long day on the trails. Cozy cabin, stunning mountain views, and that blue fireplace made for a really lovely evening. Exactly what I needed to rest up before heading back down the mountain.I’m looking forward to returning for a longer stay. Big Bear is a magical retreat and this is a perfect cabin location for star gazing!

We're so glad the cabin, the fireplace, and those mountain views gave you exactly the rest you needed after a day on the trails. Big Bear has a way of doing that, doesn't it?
We can't wait to welcome you back for a longer stay — the stargazing only gets better the more time you give it. See you soon! 🌟

Host was amazing. Amenities and treats were amazing with a s’mores station. Water pressure was low and stairs were difficult otherwise it would have been a 5/5 stars. Beautiful property and very dog friendly

Thank you so much for the kind words — I’m so glad you enjoyed the amenities, the s’mores station, and that your pup felt right at home!
I appreciate the note about the water pressure — it turned out to be an easy fix, and I truly wish you had let me know when you noticed it so I could have addressed it right away.
We’d love to host you again anytime!
The Antler Inn was perfect for our stay. We loved the house and backyard. Beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was stocked well, and the house was exceptionally clean - something we don’t always find in Big Bear. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. Thank you, Tasha.

It was a joy to host you all, and I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and the backyard! The backyard is pretty special any time of year, and with just about any weather! We look forward to welcoming you all back soon!
Our family of four just returned from a wonderful stay at the Antler Inn. The home is thoughtfully appointed with everything you could need in the kitchen, bathrooms, and living spaces. The beds were incredibly comfortable, which made it easy to fully relax after a day of exploring. The layout was perfect for our family. Our two teenage boys even felt like they had their own “space” in the cabin, which is no small feat. The Wi-Fi was also excellent, which was a big win for our gamers. The outdoor areas are spacious and offer beautiful views along with that crisp, refreshing mountain air. The location of Antler Inn is also ideal...close to the zoo (a must-do while you’re in town) while still feeling quiet, safe, and tucked away.Tasha was responsive, communicative, and upfront about a few minor issues from previous guests, none of which impacted our stay at all. A wonderful host.We would absolutely stay here again.

Thank you so much for this beautiful review — it genuinely made me smile! I love hearing that the whole family felt at home at the Antler Inn, and that your teenage boys had their own space (I know how important that is 😄). Gamers approved on the Wi-Fi — that's a win I'll gladly take!
The zoo is such a gem — so glad you made it out there, and that the location felt just right — close to everything but still peaceful and tucked away.
Thank you for being such wonderful guests and for your gracious understanding on the minor items I mentioned. You were a pleasure to host, and I truly hope the Antler Inn gets to welcome your family back again someday. Wishing you many more mountain adventures! 🦌⛰️
We loved our stay at this cabin. Convenient location, couple minutes from the zoo and ten minutes from the Village shops and restaurants. Super clean cabin and has everything the family would need. Host was helpful and helped with the check in and check out process.

We had an amazing time at the antler Inn. The place was clean and well equipped and made for a wonderful Thanksgiving location for me and my family. My Frenchie also enjoyed the large backyard and exploring the neighborhoods around the home. Tasha was incredibly responsive and helpful. Overall, a great experience!

So thrilled that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and well equipped for all that you need. The cabin is definitely well stocked :) Would love to welcome you all back anytime :)
Tasha was the most accommodating host we’ve ever had at Vrbo. Almost instant responses from her if we had any questions. The backyard was very important to us because we had two dogs, and it was perfect. It was fully enclosed and no way of them getting out at all. The beds and pillows were actually very comfortable, that’s usually not the case so we were pleasantly surprised! The fire pit outside was awesome for my son and his friend to make s’mores. House was spotless and decorated beautifully. The only issue we had was with the driveway. It is very steep so be sure to closely read the directions sent to your email after booking as they are very helpful. Dogs and kids had a blast and so did my husband and myself. Thank you, Tasha for being so accommodating for me and my family. Highly recommend this place to you and your family.

Thank you for the heads up on the driveway — great reminder for future guests to review those arrival instructions!
You were wonderful guests and I'd welcome your family (and your four-legged crew 🐾) back anytime. Wishing you many more wonderful adventures ahead!
We had a wonderful stay at the Antler Inn. The cabin was well stocked, super cozy, and the fireplace made it feel extra inviting. Perfect for relaxing after a day in the mountains.Tasha was an amazing host! Incredibly attentive, responsive, and thoughtful. The check-in instructions were very clear, and we especially appreciated the helpful tips for navigating the driveway, which made arrival stress-free.One of our favorite features was the enclosed backyard, where our fur-kids could safely run around and enjoy themselves. It truly made the stay even more special for our whole family. We loved our time here and hope the Antler Inn is available for our next visit to Big Bear. Highly recommend!

Excellent 4-night summer stay for our family, with a toddler who loved the backyard sloping trails and we loved the outdoor dining, with various seating areas. Loved this cute cabin in the woods. Our host Tasha was top notch. She was always available when I had silly questions like looking for a local dog park she was happy to point me in the right direction for many places. The house is super clean and updated. I loved having peanuts available to guest. We would sit and watch all the animals come to the balcony and enjoy the peanuts. This house was soooo close to Bear Mountain and fully stocked with anything you need. It Never took us more than 8 minutes to get all over town or to any of the local hot spots, this home is such a great central location. Can't wait to return soon thank you Tasha.

My family and I had the most wonderful weekend at the Antler Inn. We’ve rented properties in big bear for the last decade and this one was one our favorites! The place was clean, beds were incredibly comfortable, and the house had everything you could possibly need. My daughter loved feeding Jerry every day, such a nice touch with the jar of peanuts and note about him. The selection of board games was the best I’ve ever seen in a cabin. New games, nostalgic games and no missing pieces! Incredible! Can’t recommend this property enough! We’ll most definitely be coming back!

Host very accessible. Close to Bear Mountain ski area. Master bedroom upstairs, second bedroom downstairs, two bunk beds adjacent to kitchen eating area. Well maintained. Steep driveway not a problem for vehicles with good ground clearance but a major problem for my small SUV (muffler scraped ground) — host provides directions on best way to negotiate driveway.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! You’re right about the bed arrangement, and I’d also love to share that the upstairs couch has a very comfortable pull-out bed for anyone who prefers not to use the bunk beds. About the driveway — I remember you mentioned you had skidded a bit and that’s what caused the sound, so I was a bit surprised to hear it might have been the muffler. In fact, the only time we’ve ever had a muffler scrape was with a very low-profile sports car (an Infiniti G35). We provide detailed instructions for getting in and out of the driveway to help make it smooth for all vehicles. I’m so glad you enjoyed the home’s location, the easy access to Bear Mountain, and that you found it well maintained. Thank you again for staying with us — it was a pleasure to host you!
This cabin is in a Great location. It was very clean and had many amenities. The lake is only a five minute drive. I would stay here again in the future.😊

About the host
Hosted by Tasha Ross
I figured that I would rather be in the mountains in a cabin than in a city during COVID. I assumed that I would renovate the cabin in 3 months and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Little did I know that 3 months would turn into a year. I enjoyed every minute of it and am thrilled to be able to share my cabin with others!
Why they chose this property
I purchased this cabin in 2020 when it became clear that I would be working from home for sometime. Built in 1961 by a Hollywood producer, the cabin was ahead of its time. The cabin had everything that I was looking for - a large open floorplan, perfect to enjoy with family and friends. The spiral staircase is unique and brings a fun architectural element to the cabin, as do the large (original) windows. The sink in the master bedroom is quirky and incredibly handy. The fenced yard makes it nice to enjoy the backyard, and we have plans for it!
What makes this property unique
The cabin has (almost) been fully renovated and offers a large fenced yard. All appliances in the home are new. There is a sink in the master bedroom, which is quirky, but so handy. The Swedish Fireplace is original and adds a nice bit of vintage charm, while the furniture and mattresses are all new and so comfy! There is a large game cabinet downstairs and a shuffleboard table, which is great fun for the whole family. It is really neat to be able to sit at the kitchen island and look out through the sliding glass door and/or picture window to see the ski slopes or just hang out on the couch and look out into the trees. There is this very serene feeling like you are in the middle of the woods, and yet you can literally walk to the zoo!
