Big Bear Lake Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7)

Located within two to three blocks to the center of The Village and just a five-minute drive to the Snow Summit Ski Lifts. Everything you will need is within close proximity once you land at this resort-like vacation rental. In the summer you can swim, boat, fish and sight-see from your own backyard. In the winter you can go skiing (alpine or cross-country), snowboarding, sledding/tubing and enjoy the beautiful snow. This is lakefront at a fraction of the cost of renting lakefront.

This beautiful lakefront condo is one of three units in a triplex. It was built in 1977 and the given name of the complex is: Lake Chalets. The name of our unit is: Lakefront Retreat. There are two buildings on the lot. The 1st building facing the street has garages and a unit above. The rear building has two units. Our unit is the top floor of the rear building, which has no shared walls and a huge deck with unobstructed lake views.

The two-story condo feels much more like a private home than a condo; there are no hallways to get lost in and it is very private. It has cathedral ceilings and tudor details. This does not feel like a condo or a triplex; it is much more private and feels like a cabin. The lot is over 9000 square feet sitting 'on' the lake. There is plenty of room for activities while waiting for your next boat ride/water ski, your next big catch, snow play or simply watching the boats come and go from the nearby, adjacent marina.

Bedding Configuration: The master BR has a queen-size platform bed featuring a down comforter with duvet plus down pillows with high thread count linens. The master features its own large closet with remote color 20-inch TV with DirecTV and DVD player. It also has end tables with lamps, alarm clock and antique armoire for storage of all additional linens, towels and blankets.

The second bedroom has a queen-size bed with down comforter and duvet plus down pillows 'and' a matching bunk bed separated by an end table with lamp and alarm clock. A modest stackable washer/dryer is in the closet for easy storage and access.

The third and fourth bedrooms are dual lofts separated by its’ own bathroom on the second floor. Each loft is open, with no walls, and has two full beds sleeping four total in the loft area. By the textbook real estate definition, these are not actual bedrooms. There is a closet in the bathroom and a hanging rack in the hallway. Drawers for clothes should be kept under the bed; each bed has three drawers under it.

Living Room: 40-inch Flat Screen TV with DirecTV, wireless internet (airport and ethernet), mac computer and DVD player. Enjoy a crackling fire in the rock fireplace on our comfortable ultra suede sectional couch.

Deck: Just off the Kitchen sits the Deck, that includes views of tall pine trees and clear skies for stargazing or snowfall. Enjoy the sunset from the sit-down views, while melting away the stresses and strains of everyday life.

Backyard: Oversized and huge, the backyard has room for any outdoor activity you can think of including, in the winter, making snow angels in the snow-covered backyard which lies just a few steps down from your own shared dock.

Kitchen: Fully-equipped kitchen with travertine floors, dishes and settings for 12 persons, and all appliances - oven/range for big meals, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, coffee maker and a steak knife set for your steak dinners. With amazing views of the lake through the sliding windows above the sink, and all kitchen utensils, pots and pans - you'll be hard pressed to find a better-stocked kitchen.

Beautiful home in the perfect Big Bear location!

  • 5 of 5

My family was long overdue for a get-a-way where we could reconnect and have some fun. We couldn't be happier with our experience. Booking this home was made easy by the excellent communication with the owners. The information and directions they provided were clear, allowing us to settle in easily and enjoy our time. The cabin is beautiful. It's set on the lake with huge picture windows and a large deck. There is a cozy fireplace, comfortable beds and bedrooms, all with cable TV, and a washer/dryer. A computer and Wifi are available for your use, but we were having so much fun playing the card and board games provided even the kids barely logged on! It is a great option for all situations. A local trolley heading to area hot spots offers an all day pass and was easy to catch. There is bowling and an arcade, the marina, as well as fine dining, shopping and nightlife in nearby Big Bear Village. Our favorite activity was a trip to the Alpine Zoo, where they rescue and rehabilitate wildlife. The animals are up close and the enrichment activities were incredible. Truly the perfect weekend. We can't wait to book the cabin again!!

Happy to Have Found This Place

  • 4 of 5

We wanted to spend some quality family time with our grown kids and grandbaby so we decided to go away for the Thanksgiving Holiday together. I wanted to be in a location that we didn't have to load up and drive everywhere to do anything and I was fortunate enough to run across this cabin. The location is awesome being on the Lake but only 2-3 blocks from the Village. (FYI, the Lake is extremely low from the drought so its not as though you can go fish from the dock as it looks possible in the picture....the dock is actually sitting on dry land now and the water is probably another 200 meters out). We didn't need a lot of sleeping room but there was plenty. As well as lots of extra blankets, pillows, etc. Since we were cooking an entire Thanksgiving dinner, I brought many things up with me just to be safe, but found kitchen is very well stocked so I didn't have to end up using much. I would say if you are planning on cooking stove-top for 5+ people, it might be good to bring your own "larger" skillets for things like eggs and bacon to be cooked in quantity. There is also a cabinet stocked with games which was nice. If you are traveling with children, there is a highchair, baby gate and bed rail all stored in the closets for use. If you are visiting during colder months, I highly suggest taking some slippers as the kitchen floor gets freezing and socks just wont cut it. The heater did a good job of making the bedrooms comfortable but the front living area always stayed a little chilly as it is a large open area with 2 large glass sliders..not uncomfortable by any means, but will make you want to snuggle in some sweats and a long sleeve. If I had any suggestions for the cabin would be maybe to have 1 more small loveseat or comfy chairs for the living room, there is a nice sectional but we found ourselves sometimes sitting around on the floor or on the fireplace or ottoman so we weren't all crammed on the couch together. Its is however a very cozy and comfortable living area. It was nice to have room to park 3 cars and to even have 1 of them in a garage. We walked to the village each day and sometimes to the coffee shop right around the corner. If you don't want to spend your time cooking at the cabin, there are lots of walkable places to eat and shop in the Village. If you are looking for a newer, up to date, granite counter kind of place, this would not be for you. It is older but well kept and lots of old mountainy charm. We would definitely recommend.

Great Cabin on the water!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cabin. It had plenty of room, the kitchen had everything we needed and best of all we were so close to the water. We brought our dog and he loved the lake and chasing the ducks. It was awesome that they had a hose at the entrance so you can clean the dog before going inside. Overall it was a great cabin and we will definitely be back!

Wonderful family vacation July 2016

  • 5 of 5

Lovely place. Was all it was cracked up to be. Kitchen had everything, needed to bring nothing. The deck was a highlight with great views of the lake. Walking distance to the village, marina and many other attractions. Enjoyed parasailing, wave runner, pontoon boating, go-carting, alpine slide, shopping, and eating at the local restaurants. I highly recommend Kari's Lakeside Chalet!

Great place for a girl's getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This place was perfect to celebrate my 60th Birthday with my three sisters! It was quiet, very clean, every bed very comfortable and well stocked. The balcony was so perfectly shaded and a great place for any meals. It's such a short walk to the town also. I highly recommend this place!

Best 4th of July location

  • 5 of 5

I almost hate to write this review because it's going to make it more difficult for my family to find availability to visit the cabin again :-) ...but, I have to be fair and share this place with others :-) Because IT IS AMAZING !! My family and I have been to this location in July for the last 3 years. Kari's Lakefront Paradise is truly that....once you arrive, you will not want to leave. The views and the atmosphere are perfection !! I love sitting on the balcony overlooking the lake with my early morning coffee...watching the lake come alive with activity. The village, which is quaint and always busy with happy travelers, offering ice cream shops, sports bars, great restaurants, crafty stores and outdoor music is a 10 minute easy walk from the cabin. The cabin itself has a warm "mountain cabin" feel, Beds are comfy and the kitchen is well stocked. Plenty of room for families with young children or grown children like my own. We have such fun playing board games inside or outside games on the grounds next to the lake. Kari is very easy to work with and quick to respond if questions arise. Rent this mountain paradise and you will not be disappointed. (Although I sure will be if there is no availability left for my family and I LOL) Enjoy!!
