Love this house!
We originally found this house via AirBnb back in April and loved it so much that we booked it again for our fall break through 30A Beach Girls. I am happy to say we loved it just as much the second time around! I will try to keep this review as concise as possible since I have a tendency to ramble...
WHAT I LOVE
1. Home is new, spacious, and beautifully decorated
2. Mattresses are firm but not rock-hard (I have a bad back, squishy beds are a deal breaker)
3. En-suite bathrooms for every bedroom. Master bath has an amazing soaking tub!
4. Little porch off of the master bedroom with nice furniture (not dirty and mildewy like some places I've stayed), I enjoyed a few cups of coffee out here every morning.
5. This place is SO clean, and for someone who usually doesn't feel comfortable staying in hotels/rental homes, that's a big deal. This is the only place we stay where I'll go barefoot. I don't even like sitting on the furniture in most places, but the couch in the living room is leather, which is easier to clean than fabric that's used by hundreds of different people every year.
6. Quiet community with a large pool, only minutes from a couple of nice beaches and restaurants.
7. Large kitchen with new, very nice appliances. We only cooked breakfast at the house, and had everything we needed except the food. (Salt, pepper, and a rack of spices provided, just make sure you bring cooking spray/oil.)
8. Nice laundry room with high-end washer and dryer.
SOME FYI NOTES
1. Master bedroom has a lot of windows and no shades...if you don't typically get up at dawn, bring an eye mask because it gets a LOT of light the moment the sun comes up. The other bedrooms are a little better in this regard but still get a good amount of light.
2. The water can taste weird if you aren't used to it, so bring some bottled water just in case. Some of us didn't like it and some didn't notice anything. Just a preference, but it's good to be prepared.
3. Pillows are thick and fluffy and very nice, but if you prefer a flatter pillow, bring one.
Finally, we encountered an issue on our first night: around 8:50pm, my parents laid down on their bed only to find that a support board under the mattress was broken in half and they couldn't use the bed. I don't blame 30A-BG because this issue wasn't apparent until they actually tried to use the bed. So, I texted the help line a few minutes later and didn't have high expectations because it's only monitored until 9pm...to my surprise, someone called me almost immediately. I can't remember her name (sorry!), but she was very apologetic, had me send some photos, and made sure we still had enough beds for everyone--we had to do a little rearranging for the night, but there were only six of us so it was fine. Someone came out the following morning to replace the broken board and all was well! Things like this happen, it's the response of management that makes a difference and we could not have asked for a better response. Thank you!
