Space 2,350 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3 Baths, (Sleeps up to 8)

Discover the BEST sandy beach on Puget Sound! Enjoy an unobstructed, breathtaking view of Seattle, Bainbridge Island, and Mount Rainier from atop a south facing bluff.

Plan your day as the morning tide rolls gently in and out of the bay. Smell the salt air and indulge in the sounds of a beach awakening. Watch as bald eagles soar in clear sight, and herons search for their perfect morning catch. Otters play, dogs fetch and people stroll. Welcome the fresh evening air, as the lights of the Seattle skyline decorate the night sky.

This rural residential area, is just south of Kingston on the part of Puget Sound called Port Madison. It was originally established (in 1916) as a summer community for Seattleites. The Indianola dock, built when the Mosquito Fleet boats supplied the majority of transportation on Puget Sound, was easy access for weekending families. Now this local landmark has been converted for recreational use (shortened to 870 feet), and the center of on-going local activity.

Conveniently located just one hour from downtown Seattle. TAKE THE 30 MINUTE (BAINBRIDGE) FERRY FROM DOWNTOWN SEATTLE AND ANOTHER SHORT 25 MINUTE DRIVE TO PARADISE. JUST MINUTES to Suquamish, Poulsbo, Kingston, Bainbridge Island. You can also take the Edmonds to Kingston Ferry (10 minutes away), or drive around via the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. We're just 7 miles from the popular Clearwater Casino.

Public beach access is adjacent to the property, or if you prefer, down a winding trail directly from the patio.

Bring your own boat and launch it at the public boat ramp (just a few blocks away), or in Suquamish (just a 7 minute drive), and moor it out front on our buoy. Starting in April and through the end of October, we provide 2 small small dinghies and six (single person) kayaks for your use.

The Indianola Country Store is a must-see stop. It houses a wonderful deli, fresh organic fruits and veggies, an accumulation of goodies from local artisans and farmers, Indianola souvenirs, as well as basic staples for a short-term stay. The owner (Rob) will most probably remember your name when you come back! The beach house is a quick five minute walk to the store, post office, and Indianola Club House.

All linens, cooking utensils, full-size appliances, four flat panel TV's with free cable channels, DVD player, WiFi for your portable laptop, gas fireplace, outside gas grill, fire-pit (wood provided) etc. are available to YOU for the perfect Puget Sound experience!

First level: Entry, custom 3/4 bath with walk-in shower, laundry room with full size washer/dryer, a 'great room' style living area with a gas fireplace. A gourmet kitchen which includes a double oven gas range, full size stainless appliances, maple cabinets, granite counters and a huge center island. The living area spills off to a large 1500 square foot deck/patio area with gas grill, ample seating and fire-pit, overlooking a breathtaking Puget Sound waterfront view!

Second level: Living/dining area with a sleeper-sofa for two, and another deck with patio seating as well. Down the hall you will find a KING bed with it's own walk-in closet. Across the hallway is another private room with a QUEEN bed. One full bathroom.

Third level: Sitting area adjacent to another KING bedroom with walk-in closet...looking out to another spacious, view deck. A separate private room can be reached by walking through the bedroom. There you'll find a full-size bed and a single daybed for more sleeping options! One full bath.

THIS PROPERTY HAS BEEN IN OUR FAMILY FOR OVER 100 years. The house is completely NEW. We'd LOVE to share the view with you!

What makes this house unique

You'll understand when you arrive. :)

Guestbook comments from the owner

If you're looking for a waterfront vacation place not too far from Seattle (but far enough), this is it. The home is located in tiny Indianola and sits on the edge of a bluff which overlooks Bainbridge and Seattle. There are public access stairs to the beach on the east side of the home on the other side of the fence. The home itself is fantastic...three floors, each with a deck. It's brand new, and furnished with everything you would possibly need. Another thing I liked is although you have neighbors, they aren't right on top of you and house is situated so that it's very private. It's about 12 minutes from the Kingston ferry, and 25-30 minutes to the Bainbridge ferry. The owners were great to deal with, and I'm definitely coming back here. Just do your grocery shopping in Kingston or Poulsbo before you arrive, and you'll never need or want to leave. The Indianola Country Store is a three to five minute walk in case you forget something. Great made to order sandwiches!

Beautiful Beach House

  • 5 of 5

Our group of five women spent a wonderful weekend at the Indianola Beach House. The home was clean, with comfortable beds and a well-stocked, well-organized kitchen. Lots of comfortable seating and room to spread out. Location is private with an amazing view. We plan to return!

We spent 6 nights here with kids and grand kids and everyone had a great time! The house is lovely, and designed with shared and private spaces for everyone. Deck and fire pit look just like the picture - amazing. The owners are gracious and welcoming. They thoughtfully provide everything for a fun beach vacation. Would definitely come back!

The Indianola Beach House was beyond perfect for our large family Christmas!

The house is very spacious and accommodating. If you love to cook, like we do, the kitchen is loaded with everything you can imagine. The views are breathtaking! Couldn't wait to wake up every morning to the sunrise on the water.

Looking forward to returning in the summer for outside water activities.

Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend a marvelous week at this property. It exceeded our expectations in every regard. This is not your run of the mill vacation property. It is an inviting home that exudes love and family. The owners have thought of and provided virtually everything that one would need to make the stay memorable and stress free. The neighborhood is quiet and the locals are genuinely friendly. The location is an ideal base camp for excursions to all there is to see and do in the Kitsap Peninsula, the Olympic Peninsula, and Puget Sound.

Whether you are a couple , a family, or just a group of friends; The Indianola Beach house will not disappoint!!
