Water views from 5 of the bedrooms. You will enjoy spectacular white water views from kitchen/great room while entertaining your family and friends in our fully equipped, gourmet kitchen loaded with amenities! Granite slab island (large), double ss sinks, thermador stove, Oven, dishwasher, compactor, microwave, wine fridge. Our 6 bedrooms & 5 full baths equally loaded with amenities, built-in heaters, 2 jetted tubs, lux showers.
The open, gourmet kitchen & dining area, are ideal for cooking together while interacting with family and friends and enjoying expansive white water views. The expansive views of the beach, Tomales Bay and point Reyes laid out to delight you and make you feel like you are on top of the world.
The lighthouse(Farol) sits on top of a hill, offering completely unobstructed views of Dillon Beach, Tomales Bay and Point Reyes Peninsula. It's located within 1 hour drive North of the Golden Gate Bridge, close to a full array of San Francisco Bay Area attractions as well as the Sonoma wine country and the beautiful Redwoods at Muir Woods

Great view

Two families with young kids stayed at this place. It was our first time at Dillon Beach and we didn’t know there is just one restaurant and a small general store in town, but we still had a great time. The lodge has amazing views.

What a View

The views are just as promised on the website description. The place is big and roomy with lots of comfortable beds and a place for everyone to hang out!

The most relaxing weekend

A perfect place for a weekend getaway. The place is new, fully furnished, clean, and roomy. The view from balcony is fantastic. Even though the beach is just a quick drive away, we almost preferred sitting on the balcony to soak up the Sun and enjoy the breeze.

Group Tour

We were a tour group with 10 people and the house was perfect. It's hard to find 6 bedroom / 5 bath properties, so this was great. The kitchen had all the tools and equipment needed for our chef to prepare meals. The large grill was nice, as was the fireplace. We saw lots of deer, raccoons and rabbits in the ravine.

Birthday Celebration

The home was fabulous, well stocked and clean. The views were absolutely spectacular! We walked down to the beach, we walked up the hill to the pasture area. It was a perfect house for our family of 10 adults and 4 young children. I would rent this house again in a heartbeat. Thank you!!

Perfect!

The house has awesome view. Plenty of room, clean, everything you need is there and Comfy beds. We so enjoyed it and thought it was the perfect fit. To help Fernando gets right back to you and is so pleasant during the entire process answers questions quickly. Definitely would recommend to others and would rent again.

Dillon beach

We loved the house. The rooms were great and the view phenomenal!! However, a couple doors were sticky and hard to close. Upstairs shower faucet dripped. We did have a problem with the refrigerator freezing our produce. It was on 32 and we changed it back to 37. Also-the first room downstairs on the left the lock was not working… Would love to come again.

Amazing views

Overall great stay! The property was super clean and check-in process was easy. Linda was very responsive and easy to communicate with before we arrived. Place was well stocked, internet was great, views were amazing and looked like the pics. Kids loved seeing the deer right outside the door and we loved being so close to the beach. We had a group of 8 adults and 3 kids. We had enough bedrooms and bathrooms and loved the privacy. Our only complaint was the common area wasn't great for all of us to hang out together - some of us were in the kitchen and some on the couch. The TV is mounted a little high so hard to see from the side wall. The house felt a little smaller than the pics but the beautiful views, proximity to beach, and peacefulness we felt outweighed these things.

Beautiful Home but Lacks some Basic Comforts

This was our second stay at the Farol House with our extended family, our first stay being 2 years ago. The views are spectacular and the pictures do the house justice quite well - it is a beautiful home but lacks some general functionality for us. During our first stay, we passed off the small things but on the second stay, there were several of the same issues present. In general, when we asked about anything during both of our stays, we were mostly met with excuses, apathy, or an “I’ll get back to you” but no follow up. The main issue for us were the beds - they are absolutely beautiful but several of the mattresses are terrible. One bed slumped so much to the side that our family members had to stack towels under it to avoid feeling like they were going to roll out. Screens on the windows/doors would make the stay so much more comfortable, especially when it’s warm in the house with no AC or fans - tons of moths and bees get in and the raccoons get too curious and close at night. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but we likely will not return to this beautiful home due to high price tag and somewhat small, but impactful issues.

Beautiful View

The house is beautiful, with a stocked kitchen and a huge dining table for group dinners. We enjoyed the view while cooking and enjoyed walks down to the beach. The property manager was VERY unfriendly in her communications even before we checked in. We were a group of 12 with 6 cars, I asked her where we could park an additional car (the maximum number of cars allowed is 5), and she replied after 2 days with a very unfriendly and unhelpful tone. When we arrived the house was so hot and the only window we could open was the door to the deck. All the other windows upstairs the cranks have been removed so you can't open them. Also, we picked this house because of the no-pet policy, we had a few people who were allergic to pets, and we found pet hair in one of the bedrooms. I was not inclined to contact the unfriendly property manager for any of these issues. If the issues above are improved, I would recommend the house and would stay here again.

Top of the World

Our large family just returned from a 2 day visit in this home and we would give it our highest recommendation. The house is completely updated, very clean, with comfortable beds, nice linens and pillows, and a good layout for a larger group. 3 of the bedrooms have completely private baths, and with 5 bathrooms everyone had ample time to shower and we never ran out of hot water. The media room has two convertible couches. The downstairs room with the private sitting area with the floor to ceiling windows is amazing. All the views are breathtaking with the house located at the end of a cul-du-sac and high above the beach and ocean below. Walking along the ridge is quiet and beautiful with many places to take pictures. There is a large new BBQ grill on the deck. The owner is quick to answer questions, and has a local contact if you need any help. There are a couple of great seafood restaurants in Bodega Bay which is about a 20 min. drive. The beach at Dillon is very family friendly. We like to walk so it was enjoyable to head down to the beach and store, and then back up the hill to get some exercise. If you take your car they charge $7 to park on the beach. You won't be disappointed.

Good location and nice beds but not a good place to hang out

The house has superb views and comfortable beds but not much else to recommend it The house has generally dark interiors partly offset by great views from some rooms. Particularly annoying was the absence of drawers or closets. There were no usable hall closets and the two bedrooms that had closets were already full of the owner’s household stuff. As to drawers or cabinets we found them either absent or already full. The living room was small and dark adjoining a dining area with a large window with a magnificent view but only long benches for seating. One result was that our eight person group could not dine that comfortably because of the long benches with limited clearance on either side to step over the bench The other and worse effect is that the only seating in the living room was a long linear couch sectional which barely held our group and much discouraged good conversation. Finally the host book was unfriendly and misleading It was full of "don'ts" with threats to withhold deposit. It specifically referenced beach access within the community only to have us learn that "renters" could not get passes to the private beach which was really at odds with the numerous references to the beach. All in all,it was quite disappointing and not at all like our first VRBO experience in Mammoth in 2021. This is not up to the standard I would hope to find at this price level from VRBO. I do hope you share this with the host.

Christmas without Sports T.V.

Not being technically savvy on WiFi T.V. we assumed that we would be able to watch Network Television in real time. Unfortunately this house does not have Network cable T.V. . We had planned our weekend around watching the NFL and NBA games between our normal Christmas activities. We have been coming to the Bodega Bay Area for over 25 years and have always been able to watch Network T.V. we thought for the amount of rent we were paying this would be the same situation. The owner explained that he and I suppose his entire family do not care to watch NFL or NBA sports. Seriously can't the cost of cable be added to the rental fees? So we missed all of the key games played over the weekend. This really ruined our Christmas Weekend. The house itself is nice and is well supplied with utensils , glassware, plates, pans, etc. etc. It was apparent by reviewing the owners photos in the hallway that the house was modified to accommodate the families of the owners.and their children. Note: They are a beautiful looking family. The bathrooms are nice however, the marble floors are easy to slip on, if soap is spilled and there are no handrails in the showers. This is not an A.D.A. equipped house. Given that you are requested to not wear shoes in the house it is easy to slip on the hardwood floors if you are wearing socks. Also the bottom step of the hardwood stairwell blends in with the floor causing the step to be missed when descending the stairwell. We also noted that the ceiling lights in the lower downstairs bedroom on the left flicker and will not stay on. So we did not use them. The cause of this condition could be a serious electrical problem that might cause a fire. The communal area is small and the furniture uncomfortable and old compared to other houses we have rented in Bodega Bay. . We made the best of the weekend but would not recommend this house to anyone with a disability or an interest in watching sports while they vacation. We did have a couple of beautiful sunsets but had to go out into the street to photograph them because the neighbors house blocks the view. Other than that what I have written above it was Feliz Navidad. Sincerely, Buck J. Schwan

Teacher retreat

10 wonderful friends in education (and retired) had a fantastic weekend despite crazy weather..we were caught in more than one rainstorm! The house was fabulous..bedrooms and bathrooms aplenty. We spent a lot of time at the table playing cards and games. Walking to the beach and back was certainly a great workout, as the house is almost to the top of the hill. Great workout AND fantastic views. We’ve stayed at several different Dillon Beach homes, and I don’t remember any home with such a vast view. The deer were adorable..many came into our yard and stayed too. We all absolutely loved our weekend.

Excellent Stay!

Our family of 10 enjoyed a wonderful stay. From ages 2-86, all were comfortable and happy. The pictures do not do this place justice - the views are phenomenal and the house was absolutely gorgeous. The house and kitchen are fully stocked with everything you could need. We love to cook and had everything we could possible need (and more)! I am very particular about cleanliness and this house was by far one of the cleanest I’ve stayed in, which was very much appreciated. We will definitely be staying here again!

Beautiful views!

Our stay was very nice! The house was perfect for our family. Very well stocked, with exception of paper towels...which we purchased at the general store. House was clean and presentable. We enjoyed our stay. We did however have a small issue and John (property manager) handled in a very professional and kind manner. He is definitely a very good property manager with the skills to attend to any necessary corrections. I highly recommend this location. Thank you John!!

Excellent location, property and host

The view is fantastic. The property is clean inside and outside. Very large functional kitchen and all the pots, pans utensils, plates, coffee maker, BBQ etc necessary to hose great in house meals. Dining table overlooking the ocean and beach while eating is a great plus. Many separate bedrooms with beds, most with attached bathrooms. When you get tired of cooking and entertaining guests, there are many board & card games available to choose from. The presence of many deer and large birds flying nearby adds to the great views of this place.
