An exciting 2025 RENOVATION is completed which includes new decks and railings, new windows and doors, and fresh interior & exterior painting. A highlight of this reno is the conversion of our first foor bedroom into a fabulous built-in bunk room which now has 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds.

ISLAND CLUB MEMBERSHIP: The owner is a member of the Island Club. If you would like access to use the club amenities (bikes, kayaks and large pool with hot tub), there is a $75 charge required. Upon arrival you will need to stop at the Island Club office to register and pay. This is an Island Club policy. It is optional. If you do not register, you can still go to the smaller pool and pool bar/restaurant.

**DETAILED DESCRIPTION**

Only 100 feet from a 4-mile stretch of white sand beach, BLUE MANGO offers a very private, beautifully landscaped home nestled in the palms. This is a multi-level home with a private pool and abundant decks.

The charming bottom level is separate from the main house and features two bedrooms and one large bathroom. One bedroom is a fabulous bunk room with sleeping for 6 and the other sizeable bedroom has a queen bed and sitting area. The kitchen has granite counter tops and the necessary appliances (fridge, oven/stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster) with an outdoor Weber gas BBQ by the pool. There is a cozy living room with a Smart TV and books for you and your kids to enjoy, and a quaint dining nook.

On the upper level, you will find a beautiful vaulted living room with plenty of seating for your entire group. A Smart TV and a cupboard full of your favourite boardgames and puzzles will provide hours of fun. A cozy daybed is the perfect spot to curl up and enjoy a good book. The beautiful, open concept kitchen comes equipped with all the necessary appliances, dishes, and essential spices, as well as washer and dryer. Your family can enjoy meals or games in the sunlight-filled separate dining room that seats 10 and includes a highchair and booster chair. The second floor bedroom has its own private deck for enjoying the sun and breezes. All the bedrooms on the upper level have their own bathroom. And with three playpens, there are plenty of sleeping options for your little ones.

Another key feature is the lookout deck accessible from the third floor where you can enjoy bird watching, beautiful ocean sunsets, and nightly stargazing. There is abundant seating for everyone. This is the perfect spot for a morning coffee or evening cocktail!

All bathrooms are stocked with towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The two kitchens are stocked with dish towels, hand soap, dish soap, paper towels, and scrub sponge.

North Captiva Island is where world-class fishing, boating, shelling, and sunsets await you! North Captiva is a true barrier island, separated from the mainland by a 25-minute boat ride. No cars are allowed on the island so transportation is by golf cart or bicycles.

While North Captiva is remote and secluded, that doesn’t mean you have to be completely disconnected. We offer unlimited WiFi as well as Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Sonos Sound System, and DVD player. Connect or disconnect… it’s up to you.

With Blue Mango, you will have no worries with a professional management team, Shally's Seashells, that works and lives ON ISLAND. Allow them to assist you with coordinating your flight and ferry schedule to assure you don't waste your vacation time waiting on your ride. You will receive a welcome packet upon booking, and Shally's will be available to you for making any arrangements or answering any questions. In addition, their staff will be at the marina to greet you when you arrive to escort you and your belongings to your tropical paradise. Shally's will help you get acquainted with your new home and answer any questions you may have before leaving you to finally sink your toes into the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.

Great house, great location!

This house was great! It was super clean and well decorated for the beach. Walkable to the beach. Loved having a pool with plenty of lounge chairs! Everyone said their beds were comfortable. One room did have trouble with their a/c which took 5 days to get repaired, but that was the only negative all week. There are plenty of dishes and appliances. Definitely a relaxing trip loved by the whole group!

Extended Family Beach Vacation

Blue Mango was a great house for our 2 week stay with our 3 children & their spouses and children. 3 BR's with their own baths plus a separate apartment with 2 BR's, living area and kitchen and another bath. Plenty of space with comfy furniture, nice large well stocked kitchen/dining room, perfect warm pool with spacious deck and lounge chairs, and upper deck with a great view. Shally's was very responsive and helpful both before and during our stay. Definitely recommend it!

Great spot in North Captiva

We loved our stay at Blue Mango. The house was well equipped for adult couples - the ensuite bathrooms were luxurious - as well as kids. The location of the property was ideal, both close to the beach and the large community pool (nothing is far though, particularly with the golf carts). The new deck, pool and recreational activities (ping pong, basketball hoop in pool, thetherball) were a hit with the kids. The island is in a state of repair from the hurricane, so we had construction noise all around us for the week, but that is not the fault of the owners. Blue Mango had clearly been repaired and was in a great state for our stay. We had a really wonderful vacation!

Great location!

Blue Mango is a great beach house! The landscaping out front is very tropical and well kept. The house is clean and has everything you need. The best part is the proximity to the beach. Can’t beat the location. Pool was clean however, the pool deck needs updating and a good refinishing. Property Management, Shalley Seashells, was top notch. Would not hesitate to use them again.

Excellent Location on a Great Island to get away and social distance!

Blue Mango is an amazing property with many unique features and a perfect location. We were a family of 4 plus 3 adult friends. The rooms were all great except for the room with the twin beds which was just an awkward space. The house had everything we could need and then some. Duncan, Laurie and Ally were AMAZING and anything we needed was handled promptly. We will most definitely be back.

Great for families with teens

Blue Mango was perfect for this group of 2 families with teenagers. Close to the beach, pool and games to keep the kids busy, and plenty of space to spread out in the house. It was sad to see the impact to the island and area from the hurricane, but exciting to see the progress to date and all the ongoing efforts to restore the area. But the island remains, even short of a full recovery, a beautiful & relaxing place to get away. The owners and management team did a great job communicating and providing through the process

Perfectly relaxing

The property was perfect for our group of 7 adults! The amenities we needed whether for a quick breakfast, making dinner or just hanging by the pool. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated each bedroom having it's own bathroom. While the property isn't on the beach it's so close it really didn't matter and was ready to run back to refill snacks or use facilities. The golf carts make it so easy! The beach amenities were perfect! The management team was incredibly responsive when we had questions and the check in, check out, and grocery services were excellent. Highly recommend this property, or any managed by Shally's!!

Wonderful house and great location

The house was just as advertised. Everything is close on North Captiva, but the location of Blue Mango made it just *that* much easier to get to the beach by foot. There was plenty of room, and the lower suite made for a great way for half of our party to enjoy their own space as well. The house is solid with regard to noise, with good window seals and no critters to join the party. The pool decking is ready for a surfacing, but the pool was clean, there were plenty of chairs on the decking as well as the roof for relaxing, with enough space around outside to stretch out and enjoy the afternoons. The dining room is spacious enough for 10 to sit comfortably, and the main family room is roomy enough for that many or more to sit and enjoy a movie. Plenty of games and entertainment in the cabinet as well. We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to rent this property again.

Horrible Management in Paradise, Beware of Tortuga Properties

It pains us to have leave a bad review at a place that has amazing potential! However, we feel obligated to do so to hopefully help anyone else who is considering staying here.. The house itself was very nice despite small issues that can be fixed with basic maintenance -moldy/slimy shower & bugs on 1st floor. The root of the bad review has to do with the property management company (Tortuga Properties). The issues started from arrival to the island. The Ferry service (island girl) was great! But once we arrived that’s when all the issues started.. No one was there to welcome us or tell us where we were going. Once we finally found someone, they made us wait forever with a baby, 2 toddlers, and a panting dog on a 95 degree day. The staff was ready to take us to the house without our bags, saying they’ll bring them (yet they had no idea which were ours if we had left) bc they had them mixed in with other guests bags. We demanded to stay with our bags as we feared they would be lost if not (Which we were glad we did because several groups that day lost several of their bags!!). Now on the way to our house the bags fell off the cart due to poor placement and no securement and the staff only realized because we were yelling on the cart behind them to stop. We were supposed to get a welcome walk through of the property but no one ever showed up or responded when we asked when to expect them. We also had some issues with the house (downstairs shower wouldn’t work) and it took multiple follow ups to get them to show up and fix it. Throughout the week we consistently had issues with our golf carts running out of power and having to push them (we charged them after every use and only ever used them to get to the club or dinner). When we checked out, we scheduled a pick up of our bags the day before as it was suggested but no one ever showed up to grab the bags or us for the ferry so we packed our own golf carts and got ourselves to the ferry after 2 trips and thank god we did as the ferry was at the dock and already packing up to leave when we got there. Again, LOVED everything else about the island and the house! We hope to go back again but will never stay with a Tortuga property again. We heard from other families at departure that they also had issues with Tortuga throughout the week. Also noticed people on FB page posting issues but the group owner removes the posts which is disappointing. So hopefully this post helps someone!!

We loved our time on North Captiva! The house is exactly as depicted, though the rooms are a bit smaller than the pictures can show. The golf carts, grocery delivery service, and support from Fred was fantastic. Overall, we all decided we’d definitely do it again!

We enjoyed our first trip to North Captiva and already want to go back!

The property layout and amenities worked great for our family of 10 adults and 2 toddlers! The owners and management were very accommodating with providing a booster seat, actual cribs, pack-n-plays, baby gates, etc. Overall the property was in great shape. We were surprised with how well the kitchen was equipped and leftover spices and coffee from previous guests did come in handy (I think we even left a couple). A few items like lights/fans and rugs could use a good clean, and we noticed cigarette butts outside in the sand from a previous guest. In regards to the island, we enjoyed it very much and like the secluded feeling it provided. A few things to keep in mind for next time though is restaurant reservations should be made at least 2 weeks in advance at Boathouse and Waterfront. The general store should be relied on for emergencies only and not for restocking of any kind (bloody mary mix $39, and Titos vodka 1L $69 - it was probably cheaper to order drinks from a bar). We did rent a boat for the day and enjoyed our time, found the island store near Jensen's marina on Captiva when we refueled to be a much better option for restocking our fridge and pantry. All said and done, our family had an overall great time and we will be back for sure!

Island Vaca with 5 Couples!

I must start this off by saying Sandie was amazing! She immediately met us at the dock and took care of us for our 7 Days! Always easy to communicate with! This home is beautiful and offers everything you could want in a space. When you have this big of a group space can be tricky…this home was perfect! The pool is absolute heaven after a long day on the water. The kitchen is gorgeous, well equipped and we loved the open floor plan of the family room/kitchen. Thank you for an amazing stay! Felt awesome to come back home. We highly recommend!

Absolutely Amazing!

Fantastic week of relaxing fun at Blue Mango! 5 adults and 4 teens had plenty of space between the downstairs apartment, pool, main floor and the rooftop deck. Property managers Bill and Sandy were phenomenal! Highly recommend getting groceries delivered and stocked through them. Super helpful and easy to work with. The house is in such great shape that we commented that it looked like we were the first group to rent it after it came on the market. One of the nicest properties we’ve rented this far. 3-5 minute walk to the beach but the golf cart was the perfect “minivan” to shuttle the chairs/umbrellas/sand toys/cooler/ boogie boards to the beach. Beach only had a few people on it every day. Saw lots of wildlife every day. Loved the fact there weren’t any cars: every day was quiet and peaceful; just walking down the sandy roads was a good time. We would absolutely return to this amazing property to do this again. Can’t recommend Blue Mango highly enough.

Limited Access Island Paradise

We had an awesome visit to the Island! The sunsets were unbelievable, the bugs atrocious, the people friendly, the shelling overly abundant, the sunburn avoidable (ha!), and the water was bathtub warm. I'm already missing the beach, all we have now back home is bug bites, sun tans and so many memories. Blue Mango house was wonderful! Very well equipped! We did bring our own aluminum foil & cling wrap, and glad we did. Good selection of spices and plenty of pots & pans. The location was good, plenty of room for everybody. The beds were comfortable. Please note that the ground floor Apartment is only accessible from the outside of the house, so if your kids want to stay down there away from you, they are really away from you! The owner even provided a 2nd golf cart because the other needed repair. Bring plenty of bug repellent and sun screen, you'll need it.

Long Planned Vacation

Our family booked our vacation in January and we were so excited. Unfortunately our stay was stressful due to the property management “team”. The golf cart didn’t make it to the house for check in due to lack of battery charge. Our groceries did not arrive until after 7pm on check in day. Some items were missing and we never received them. The gas grill propane tank was empty when we attempted to grill steaks the next day. No beach umbrellas so we had to purchase 2 expensive ones and leave them because we couldn’t take them on the plane. Most frustrating was not being able to have messages returned for assistance. Once on the island you are at the mercy of the property manager for everything. Our family enjoyed being together and the beach is absolutely beautiful. I would recommend vacationing in Captiva where the beach is beautiful and stress free accommodations are guaranteed.
