About Linda Korsch

Pictured above is a group enjoying the fire ring adjacent to the cabin. We enjoy entertaining our guests!

Linda Korsch purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Linda Korsch chose Northeast

We purchased this property in 2003 along with another cottage called Baron's Bungalow and turned the property into a small resort called Lake Rest Cabins. The property was purchased from my father, Jim Steiner, and previously was called Jim and Fran's cottages.

We continue to make changes to the cabins such as: laminate flooring in the kitchen/new tile flooring in both bathrooms, AC in living room, WI-FI, Blue Ray DVD, an Ipod docking station!

What makes this cabin unique

The Loons Lodge is truly a 'North Woods' cabin and still has the old charm of a rustic cabin but also has been updated with all of the amenities that you can enjoy today. We consider ourselves 'care takers' of this secluded resort area and want to share it with those looking for a sense of peace and quiet.

Simply Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

This vacation was seriously overdue, and Ken and Linda did not disappoint us with the Loons Lodge! Beautiful setting on crystal clear Little Spider Lake was perfect for our family getaway. The cabin was clean and well stocked with linens and kitchen utensils, and any supplies we needed were either on site or a quick phone call away to the owners. The washer and dryer were an added bonus (we had a little one of ours walk into the lake with his clothes on!), as was the complimentary firewood provided to us upon arrival. Kids loved fishing off the dock, and we loved hanging out around the campfire at night!

Thank you again for having us, we loved our stay and look forward to being back next year!

The space was perfect and we loved the lake.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the Loon Lodge, 2 bedroom with 3 beds and 2 baths. Very spacious and clean. We were able to bring our dog which was great! The cabin is rustic style but very updated. Our Wi-Fi went in and out the entire week but we did have direct tv. Very close to town and restaurants. Clear Lake lots of fish!

Beautiful Resort!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful, well maintained resort! Very hardworking owners willing to do anything to make your stay great! Sad that other renters have trashed some of their generous amenities. Bugs, Pine pollin, dead fish in the lake- that's just the Northwoods! If you don't like those things, than God's Country is not for you!

Wouldn't Be Summer Without Lake Rest Cabins

  • 5 of 5

We just spent our 6th year in the Loon's Lodge at Lake Rest Cabins. Our yearly visit to Lake Rest Cabins is now a family tradition with our two adult children and their growing families when they can join us. The Loon's Lodge easily accommodates 3 generations under one roof, but is still cozy even when it's just my husband and I. Linda and Ken are the perfect hosts, the cabin is perfect with personal touches, and Little Spider Lake is perfect with not being busy or crowded with too many speed boats zooming around. Retreating to Lake Rest Cabins is the perfect way to relax and rejuvenate. Can't wait for next year! It just wouldn't be summer without our yearly visit to Lake Rest Cabins!

Great Up North Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at both Loons Lodge and Baron's Bungalow and both have been fantastic trips. I celebrated my engagement at Barons in the Spring and my fiance's 30th birthday at Loons in the Fall. It really is a special place for us. Great anytime of the year, we love Lakerest cabins!

Don't miss a chance to stay here!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, along with our two young adult sons and two of their friends, spent an excellent two weeks at Loon's Lodge. Our boys couldn't stay the whole time, but the cabin was big enough to house all of us without feeling cramped. We even had our golden retrievers along -- still not too cramped. The cabin is beautiful in an authentic, woodsy way, extremely clean and well-stocked. We have been renting cabins for over 25 years and this was the most well-stocked place we've been to (including firewood, linens and towels, kitchen utensils/supplies/spices, and even a washer and dryer with soap and dryer sheets). We loved the indoor fireplace and outdoor firepit with lots of wood. The deck by the house is great for morning coffee and grilling out. The lake is beautiful and clear. We were able to snorkle and see the bottom (about 15'). The dock is a wonderful place to spend the day with just enough sun and shade. We enjoyed using the lake toys and raft. Linda and Ken were the perfect hosts. They seemed to know how much to check in but also gave us our privacy. One of our biggest concerns was how close the neighbors would be; we both work with people so our vacation is our chance to be with each other and not spend time socializing. There were three different couple/families in the cabin next to us and all were friendly but respectful of our desire for privacy. The absolute only downside for us was that fishing was not very good -- hard to tell how much the record hot summer impacted fishing and it was late August. We saw large musky - they just didn't want what we were serving. The sunfish are abundant and tasty though. You will not regret booking some time at Loon's Lodge.
