'Island Daze' is third row back from the beachfront, backs up to tidal creek/marsh, is tidy, comfortable and affordable.
Whether it's relaxing on the beach, walking to the fishing pier, jogging, renting bikes, shopping in the locally owned stores, golfing at numerous courses, climbing to the top of the the Oak Island Lighthouse, watching a loggerhead turtle nest and lay eggs or assisting hatchlings making their way to the ocean, kayaking, taking a day trip into Wilmington (50 minutes north) or Myrtle Beach (75 minutes south) , touring a local winery, walking the historic and charming town of Southport (setting for 'Safe Haven' by Nicholas Sparks)on the mainland-just across the bridge, playing putt-putt golf, visiting the USS North Carolina Battleship, or watching the sunset paint the sky with colors, 'Island Daze' will be your home base for enjoyment and making memories.
10 miles of uncrowded beaches, family-oriented attractions make Oak Island just the beach you’ve pictured. On Oak Island, the water is always the center of attention with more than 60 public beach-access points, 2 fishing piers, 2 marinas and 3 public boat and canoe ramps.
Weekly Rentals (June, July & August) -
A signed contract and a non-refundable $300.00 deposit will reserve your week at Island Daze with the balance of rent due thirty days prior to your arrival date. The base weekly rate is $950.00 plus taxes of 12.75% equaling a grand total of $1,071.12 and includes departure cleaning. Check in is 3:00pm on your arrival date and check out is 10:00am on your departure date unless prior arrangements have been cleared by the owner.
Weekly Rentals (May, September & October) -
A signed contract and a non-refundable $300.00 deposit will reserve your week at Island Daze with the balance of rent due thirty days prior to your arrival date. The base weekly rate is $750.00 plus taxes of 12.75%, a grand total of $845.62 and includes departure cleaning. Check in is 3:00pm on your arrival date and check out is 10:00am on your departure date unless prior arrangements have been cleared by the owner. We prefer to rent Saturday to Saturday but have flexibility.
Nightly Rentals (May, September & October) -
2-night minimum, signed contract and total rental payment will reserve your days at Island Daze. $160.00/ night (departure cleaning included) plus taxes of 12.75%. Check in is 3:00pm on your arrival date and check out is 10:00am on your departure date unless prior arrangements have been cleared by the owner.
Pillows, blankets and kitchen linens are provided but you'll need to bring your own bed linens, bath towels and beach towels. If this is not convenient for you, I will provide you the contact information for a local company who is easy to work with.
Wi-fi is available at the library and local businesses on the island.
For your convenience, departure cleaning is included in our weekly and nightly rates.
Maximum occupancy is 6, not including infants.
Smoking and pets are prohibited.

$300.00 non-refundable deposit (personal check or money order) and signed rental contract is required to reserve property for weekly rentals.
Remainder of rent is due (personal check or money order) 30 days prior to arrival date.
During summer months, weekly rentals are Saturday to Saturday.
Required taxes of 12.75% will be applied and collected to rates.
Rates include departure cleaning fee.

Year Purchased: 1999
About the owner: My husband and I bought our home in 1999 and gradually renovated/upgraded it, mostly by ourselves and the help of friends (thanks Timblin, Geoff and Matthew!). Our home has been the nucleus of countless extended family gatherings over the years and we are so happy it has created long lasting memories for all our nieces and nephews. We hope you too will enjoy the uniqueness of Oak Island while staying at 'Island Daze'.
Why the Owner Chose Oak Island, NC, USA:
In the early '70's my parents choose Long Beach (now Oak Island) for our annual 2 week family beach vacation every August, and I've chosen to vacation here ever since! After considering many coastal towns in NC, my husband and I settled on Oak Island because of the low density development, mix of year round residents, second home owners and tourists, the clean uncrowded beach, funky local art scene, great restaurants, proximity to Wilmington and the natural beauty of the island.

The ocean breezes from the south facing beach, the ocean view, easy access to the beach, a grove of live oaks in our back yard which give way to the tidal creek and marsh beyond, and countless reasons to be outside enjoying the beauty of this barrier island and its wildlife are just a few reason I love being at OKI and our house.
