Lovely Historic Home
We met for our annual sister’s weekend in Galveston. We loved this house and it’s location. The park next door was lovely too even in winter. You can walk to both Sunflower Cafe and Mosquito Cafe- two of our favorite places. House is beautiful and well appointed. Upstairs den furniture is much more comfortable than downstairs. Notes for management and future guests: loved that there was a keurig and regular coffee pot but a tea kettle would be nice- boiled water for tea in saucepan. There are only 2 wine glasses. There were plenty of extra pillows but we never found pillowcases for them. When we arrived one of the kitchen trash cans was half full. I would have liked some information about the history of the house. We loved having lots of table choices to eat and play games. There is a lift at the back porch but the elevator to the 2nd floor is locked/off limits for guests. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will choose to stay here in the future.

Beautiful home
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful. Vacasa has done a good job keeping it clean and well stocked. It was quiet and the neighborhood was good. Street parking was not an issue. We loved all the different seating areas! It made for a great girls' weekend.

Lovely 1900 huricane survivor
Beautiful home, well stocked kitchen and walkable to so many of our favorite restaurants, Mosquito Cafe, Sunflower Bakery, original mexican cafe. The only parking available was street parking, but that was never a problem.

Wonderful weekend with the family
Being that my great grandfather was a survivor of the 1900 storm and helped rebuild Galveston the history has always been such a soft place in our hearts. The house was also a survivor of the storm so it really touched our family, especially my mom. She has always wanted to go into one of the historic homes so getting to stay in one was the ultimate for her. The home was beautiful and emasculate. We brought our old fur baby with hip issues and because of the handicap lift in the back my mom and the fur baby were able to get in and out of the house with ease. Having the master downstairs also made it perfect for them because they can’t do stairs easily. The park next to the house was wonderful. Typically when we go to Galveston we sit on the balcony and enjoy the breeze and views but this time we truly enjoyed sitting in the court yard and looking at the park so much. It is a great location to be a few minutes from the strand one direction and the beach another. Parking was not a problem at all. We did this for my son who is being deployed this week as a send off and to celebrate my moms 83rd birthday. It couldn’t have been better. My mother did nothing but rave about how wonderful the home was and it made her trip so memorable. It was so much better than having to do 2 hotel rooms for everyone to go which makes everyone separated. They were great with communicating with me prior to our arrival. They were able to allow us access check in earlier so my mom could get into house if her health needs required it before 4 pm. They were quick to respond to any questions I had from check in to check out. I definitely recommend staying here especially if you are traveling with people have have mobility issues. It’s a blessing when they can travel with you and not feel like a burden and can be with everyone like they are in their home life. The only thing that would have made it better is if the elevator worked so she could have come upstairs and enjoyed the balcony and we could have all at in the sitting room upstairs with the more comfortable couch and seating for chilling as a family. The living room furniture downstairs is beautiful and vintage but not all that comfortable for long time casual hanging out. But if stairs aren’t a problem then the upstairs has the most comfortable couch and chairs. Truthfully the seating comfort downstairs is just a nit pick when mom being able to be a total part of all the trip totally out weighs that. I will definitely be staying again and recommending this home and host to people I know. Thanks for the great weekend.
