Alvah's Park Ranger Cabin

A 480 square foot post and beam cabin cut from the heart of the Maine woods. Exposed beams and wood are visible throughout this cozy space. A loft bedroom with King sized bed, hand made from Douglas Fir is the prized sleeping spot. A futon able to sleep 2 guest is located on the first floor.

Very nice brand new cabin (the cedar smells amazing every time you walk in). Well stocked with everything we needed. Good location to MDI and the town of Ellsworth.

Stayed at the Ranger Cabin mid September and it was perfect for our Acadia National Park trip! It was about a 25 minute drive into bar harbor. The cabin was clean and Kevin was a great host and provided great information about check in and check out! Would 100% consider staying here again if I find myself in the area.

Kevin was great checked in on us several times! The cabin matched pictures to a T. It was super clean! Everything you needed was there! Located close to Acadia National Park!!! Close to get restaurants! Would recommend to anyone going to the Parks!!!

Great location Great for couples. If you have Verizon make sure to screen shot directions, code for door, and WiFi password. Our Verizon service was terrible in many locations.

First time in Maine

Alvah's Park Ranger Cabin was perfect for our family of three. It was a short drive to Acadia, Bar Harbor, and everything we wanted to do in the area. The property was extremely clean and communication with the owners was easy and timely. Thank you for a wonderful first experience in Maine!

Stay review

My partner and I stayed for 3 nights and had a great time. Kevin was attentive and responsive but in no way intrusive to our stay. Would stay here again. Cabin is about 20-30 mins away from Acadia/Bar Harbor but an easy drive and the cabin is located away from hustle and bustle. Ellsworth is close by for grocery or other needs.

Amazing!

My friends and I traveled to hike Acadia National Park. Kevin and Julie were amazing hosts that provided several local dining, hiking, and sightseeing recommendations. The house was very clean and cozy! They were very responsive and made us feel comfortable during our stay. So happy we chose to stay here!

We loves this place it was in a fantastic location. The only negative it when I can charges 90 for some bedding that they said “stains didn’t come out”. I asked for pictures because we didn’t use spray tan or have anything near our bedding that would stain the sheets. I got no pictures and still know we didn’t do anything to the bedding.

Magical Cabin

My dad and I deliberated for several weeks about which cabin to stay in in the general Acadia/Bar Harbor region. Fortunately, we made the right choice. This cabin was so incredibly cozy, well-built, and plenty close to Acadia national park (about 25 mins). Everything that my dad and I wondered if the cabin would have was there -- coffee, towels, heat/AC, particular utensils, cutting boards -- the list goes on. We would absolutely stay there again. The host was responsive and gave us wonderful reccomendations for food, hiking, and late night drinks. Thanks so much, Kevin, for building this beautiful Maine retreat!

We enjoyed our family's short stay in the cabin. It was extremely clean, comfortable and well- stocked with essentials. The host was easy to communicate with, and the location was only 20 minutes from Acadia's main visitor center. It was a great place to come back to after a long day in the park.

I love Maine and want to share it with those that love the outdoors and all the beauty that surrounds us here. I was raised on Mount Desert Island and lived on the island till I was 26. I have traveled extensively but always return home to Maine for its beauty and lifestyle. Come explore for yourself and see, it's the way life should be.

Alvah's Coastal Cabin sits on a partially wooded lot in a residential setting.
It shares it's location with a sister RV spot, available to support any sized RV. See photos for more on this. We are close to the action without getting caught up in the pace of it. Acadia NP brings a high volume of visitor and cars. Our cabin sits on a side road leading to Acadia. Local traffic can be seen and heard from the cabin. Traffic at night is almost non existent. We live close by and love the feel of this small town of Lamoine.

Alvah's Park Ranger Cabin was built by myself with a few days of assistance from friends. The goal was to provide a cabin experience close to Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island. The scent of wood, cozy feel and comfort level are all part of the experience. Our proximity to both parts of Acadia (Schoodic and Mt. Desert Island) make it an ideal location to start your adventure on the coast of Maine.
