Exquisite Home for 4 in the Paris Montmartre Sky

Bedrooms 2
Space 506 sq. ft.
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

Apartment, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

This exquisite apartment (4 guests, 2 bedrooms) is located in a typical Montmartre building. It is located in one of the highest rated streets in Montmartre. Close by lies the Sacre Coeur Basilique, the place du tertre, the famous moulin rouge, and the famous place du Bateau Lavoir where many famous artists lived, PICASSO, MODIGLIANI, Albert CAMUS, Max JACOB.

The apartment was recently redesigned with love and taste by the owner.

• Entering the apartment, one is overwhelmed by the light and the views over Paris roofs. It gives a home feeling right away, as if one were at the country side, thanks also to the

presence of this nice garden, full of greeneries. For this reason, the apartment is very calm.

• One enters in the living room. It has 2 windows. It is furnished with a sofa and a table that sits 4 guests. Decoration is subtile (paints, objects, furniture) and colors are carefully chosen.

• The kitchen is open space, fully equipped including dishwasher.

• The main bedroom offers a double bed which has direct view over Paris. It is equipped with a large closet and linked to the bathroom.

• The bathroom is decorated with small tiles. It is equipped with a bath with shower, and hides the washer dryer.

• The 2nd bedroom offers bunk beds. They are large enough to sleep adults. Once again the window offers view over Paris.

• Toilets are separate (but inside the apt).

As a bonus, Phone calls to land lines in France, and to US, Canada and Australia are generally free. It is also true for more than 50 countries. More over, calls to cell phones towards specific countries (often US & Canada) may also be free. Ask us for detail as it may vary with time and policies of operators.

SACRE COEUR church is 3 mn walking distance. Les abbesses, the trendy part of Montmartre is near : many restaurants, shops and nice café terraces. The 3 subway stations are close ABBESSES & PIGALE & BLANCHE . This location is a perfect base to visit Paris. It stays 15 mn by subway to most interesting Paris locations AND is a very charming & restful area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums...

Last point, we are staying close. We are here if you need help.

Why The Owner chose Montmartre

The daughter of owners lived in that apt for 10 years. They decided to keep the apt and rent it short term to be able to use is from time to time.

Guestbook comments from the manager

The Orchampt apartment is a perfect place for either a business or holiday trip. I used the apartment with 2 colleagues during our exhibition at the Paris Air Show, Le Bourget. Although compact, this is a prime location, within 2 minutes walk of the main restaurant area of Monmartre and within about 3-4 minutes of the Sacré Coeur. Despite this close proximity the street is unbelievably quiet and this apartment offers respite from the fatigue that Paris can sometimes bring! Incidentally the views from the windows are splendid and you can see several miles over Paris. The kitchen is well equipped and the living room is a well decorated and comfortable place to relax. The free wi-fi was not something I expected and it made the stay even more appealing as it was just like being at home! The beds were clean, bright and extremely comfy. Even the freeview TV was a nice surprise, with plenty of channels to watch, or bring your own films and use the DVD player. I can recommend this place 100%.

A great stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a delightful time in Paris and enjoyed having an apartment located in Montmartre as our home base for exploration.

The apartment was exactly as described. We found it well equipped for living and appreciated how bright and airy it was.

Our family of four including two adult sized teenagers were very comfortable in the space.

Jean is terrific to work with and the arrangements for key pick up and drop off, and deposits and refunds via Paypal, work very well.

We would highly recommend this apartment.

Wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in Paris on Rue Orchampt! The unit was clean, comfortable and well equipped. It met our needs perfectly. We are a family of 4 with two tween sons. There was plenty of room for all of us, and it gave our kids a taste of life in Paris.

The unit is close to the InBeauParis office, so was easily accessible for keys and return. There are detailed information sheets for the unit in English in the apartment. It is a close walk to restaurants, shops, metro, and Sacre Coeur. Beware, it is in a hilly section of Paris, so be prepared for hills, cobblestone, and stairs. Personally, I loved this, but I was also glad I didn't bring a large suitcase to lug from the metro. The building itself has a small elevator (3 person - or in our case 1 person and luggage for 4).

While we were there we found the owners very helpful and courteous. All-in-all we were very pleased with our experience.

Great location but a lot to be desired

  • 2 of 5

Location , location , location that's what this little apartment has going for it. It is close to the heart of Montmartre but that is where praise stops. This apartment lacks maintence with skirting boards loss , toilets seat not fixed properly, cords on the blinds broken and room lights not working ( replaced with lamps in nearly every room to compensate) it was disappointing that we found the appartment not very clean, with dirty floors and toilet , stains on the couch with a rug thrown over to hide them , even cutlery still left in the dish washer. Shower if you can call it that is of bad design as it is hand held over a bath. Further more 3 days to recieve deposit returned, no personal service at all during our stay not like we have experienced at other HomeAway property's we have stayed at.

Owner's Response: Hi, We are sorry for the apartment maintenance and cleaning problem, all the below points have been corrected immediately after receiving your review. We forwarded your comments to the cleaning company manager who admitted that the cleaning lady who prepared the apartment was only there for holidays and so was obviously not trained correctly. Normally it is always the same cleaning lady who takes care of the apartment and we should normally be always informed when she goes on holiday and is replaced. The new cleaning lady should have been accompanied by their intendant for the two first cleans. They insured us it was an error and would not happen again. Regarding the bathroom, it is true that the shower is “hand held” in the bath tub. We spoke about it with the owner who doesn’t wish to change it as he doesn’t want to create holes in the earthenware as it could create water infiltration. We are here reaching the limit of the service we can offer. Our team is at your disposal continuously, we are very easily reachable by phone. We have an emergency number which can even be reached during the night (which is very exceptional in Paris) and we intervene on the spot when necessary. We are sorry you found our service to be insufficient. Sincerely, Jean

Smaller than expected. No door on bathroom. Tub/shower small and awkward to get into and out of for me - though I admit I am a less-than-athletic 70 year old. Picking up the keys from 5th floor (4th floor in European way of counting) of a nearby building without an elevator when arriving with our baggage for 10 day stay was not a pleasant way to arrive. AND there was only one set of keys for 4 adults so we had to ask for another set and go fetch that from the nearby elevator-less building.

The neighborhood is, of course, great.

Owner's Response: Hi Jonathan, Thanks for your review, feedback even negative is always useful to improve the apartment and our services. As you can see by the 30 previews 5 star reviews, this apartment is generally greatly appreciated by our guests and as you say located in a great neighborhood. I understand you felt the apartment to be smaller than expected but it is exactly of the same size as written in the first mails we exchanged. It is considered a good standard size for a Parisian apartment. We have bigger apartments to offer if you ask us. The shower tub can be disconcerting for American citizens. Old Parisian buildings didn’t have a dedicated bathroom in the 19th century, they were added latter in what space was possible. The bathtub/shower system is very common in Paris, except in modern buildings. We have mainly very positive feedback on the possibility to pick up the keys whenever you want in a very nearby area (no need to climb with your luggage). It avoids waiting when there is traffic, flight delay or even to refuse guests when they arrive at 1am or have to leave on 4am. Or to go on the other side of the town to pick up the keys in an agency opened from 9am to 6pm. I understand there are some drawbacks but you will probably admit that it mainly presents advantages. We always provide a second set of keys on request, like we did. Sincerely, Jean

Lovely apartment

  • 5 of 5

Loved this property and location in Montmartre. It's charmingly decorated and the neighborhood has many great shops, restaurants and of course the Sacre Coeur is not far (a highlight!). Picking up the keys and finding the apartment was seamless and precisely as described in the directions. It felt very secure - there's not a lot of foot traffic on the street so it's very quiet. Close as well to the metro and an easy walk to lots of great places. There were a lot of steps to the apartment, which is at the top of the building, but three of us (I'll admit, we're small) were able to fit in pretty easily. We loved the atmosphere of the apartment, as it got a lot of natural light and had beautiful views from the windows. The beds were comfy, there was enough space for three of us, and it was easily to heat the apartment when we returned. The bathroom is one area I'll mention - it's nice but not the most efficient, as the bath/shower combination was difficult to navigate. It's essentially a bathtub with a handheld shower head attached to it, therefore the water doesn't come from above - you'll need to hold it in one hand to wash your hair. I would definitely recommend this adorable apartment!

Great Place in a Great Neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed about a week and a half and were very pleased. Let me get the cons out of the way first. These things are very MINOR but, you should be aware:

- It's a 6 floor climb up to the apartment, there is a lift , but it's very small. Large luggage may not fit; luggage plus 2 people, no way.

- I'm a big man, 6'3" 215 lbs; trying to bathe in the tub was very difficult.

- If you come home at night the hallway lights are off. There is a switch as soon as you enter to turn them all on. Once you hit that switch get ready to move as the light is on a timer and will likely turn off before you make it to the apartment. There are switches on the other floors as well, but we didn't know that the 1st night.

- Montmartre is an amazing neighborhood, but it's on a hill. Lots of steps getting in and out of the metro, lot of walking up hills to get back to the place at the end of the day.

- Walking through Place Emilie Goudeau at night is a little intimidating at first, there were some groups of younger folks drinking and smashing bottles, but we never had any problems.

Let me reiterate the items mentioned above are VERY MINOR and should not deter you from renting from In Beau Paris, especially the Rue d'Orchampt property.

The Pros:

- Very Quaint and comfortable apartment. Well decorated and easily will meet all your needs. We only had 2 people, but it could easily sleep 4 and wouldn't feel too small. The building is secure and safe.

- Montmartre is a terrific neighborhood to stay in. Great restaurants, cafes, bakeries, pubs, shops, pharmacies; anything you need is within walking distance. There are 2 or 3 metro stops very close by. Sacre Couer is near and a great place to visit day & night. Rue des Abesses is the main street near the apartment and you can find anything to eat there, and it's all terrific. The neighborhood is quiet, yet entertaining. You really feel like a local there.

- In Beau Paris and Jean Noel do a terrific job of explaining the rental process, check in, and how the apartment works. If you read the instructions and follow the steps you should have no problems. If something comes up you can call or email and they are able to help right away.

I would definitely recommend this place. Should we be fortunate enough to make a return trip to Paris we would definitely look to stay here again.
