Overview

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 3-4)

Welcome to our condo:

As you enter, there are two home made coat hangers for you to use. Drop your groceries on the kitchen table but don't bring too much: you are welcome to use what is in the pantry: sugar, spaghettis, cans, etc. We hope you like what you see when you look around: the long wooden skis belonged to my father who used them at his favorite place: Portillo. On the wall of the kid's room are our daughter's first skis and on the wall next to the fireplace hangs a picture of St. Anton, bought by my grandmother.

Our son also fell in love with the West and offers his 2nd home on the western slope in Fruita for rent at VRBO 430103

Enjoy the gas fireplace when it is cold or the balcony with an expansive view of the lake, Keystone trails and the Colorado mountains beyond when it is warm. The gas grill is easy to use.

There is a TV in every room. The jetted hot tub in the guest bathroom is great to loosen sore muscles after a day of skiing or hiking.

The building entrance is locked at night and on weekends for your safety. Please remember the combination and register your car at the little station next to the elevator..

Keywords: Cozy, well equipped, newly remodeled, first class furnishings, biking-sailing-hiking-tennis-outdoor swimming pool right there, skiing and all other snowsports 10 min away, bus to all Summit County attractions at street corner.

About Inge Kirkland

We are Kenneth and Inge Kirkland. Ken hails from Oklahoma and he wanted to live in Colorado ever since he was a little boy. Inge hails from Chile and never thought about moving to the USA until she met Ken skiing in Portillo!! We have used the condo to ski in Winter and have fun in the Summer with our four kids. Now we are empty nesters and want to share it with you, hoping our guests will enjoy their time in the mountains. We communicate in English-Spanish-German-Portuguese and are also available as knowledgeable mountain guides for a negotiable fee.

Inge Kirkland purchased this condo in 1973

Why Inge Kirkland chose Northwest

The Lodge is a well built place: stressed cement is safer in the mountains than wood! Also, the lobby of the building provides safety from uninvited visitors. The views are spectacular, sports and cultural activities to fill every need are plentiful and close by. Every season in the mountains has its own appeal: Winter attracts snow-sport enthusiasts, Spring brings back greenery and fishermen, in Summer flowers bloom everywhere and the Lake is full of little white sails you can watch lying by the outdoor heated pool and finally: Fall is quiet and saturated with warm sunshine spilling through the golden leaves of the Aspen trees. At each season, there is something worthwhile and unforgettable to do and enjoy.

What makes this condo unique

Whether you want to be active or just come to relax: this place is for you. At every season you can choose to exert yourself outdoors or just stay put and watch TV, read, play games, enjoy the fireplace, the jetted tub, the swimming pool or just lie in the hammock on the balcony.

Loved the Condo!

  • 5 of 5

This condo was a good location for us, as we were doing a number of hikes in different locations, so it was centrally located for that. We had a nice view of the lake. The condo was very comfortable and roomy enough for the three of us. It was very clean and well-kept. The owner was very accommodating and had the condo stocked with some necessities that we had not thought of. We highly recommend this condo!

Owner's Response: Hello, thank you for renting our condo! We are so happy you had a great stay! Yes: we leave many necessities there for our guests. When I rent a condo, I hate buying the salt, pepper, etc, etc!! We hope you have a chance to come back our way. Best regards, Inge K.

Cozy and convenient

  • 4 of 5

The condo was cozy and the beds were all very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The parking lot was close by. We enjoyed the community indoor hot tub after skiing.Inge is a thoughtful hostess. Met a few of the neighbors who were very friendly .Very well priced.

Cozy (:

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here. It was a great location. The condo was more than welcoming and cozy. Great nearby places to eat. Not far from skiing resorts and downtown. I enjoyed walking along the lake in the mornings. Will book again in the future and bring our little kids. Don't look at anymore condos, this place is perfect. This is coming from a person who spent probably 3 hours looking for one.

Just Right!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed in this wonderful condo by the Marina. Wonderful sunrise view each morning from the Master Bedroom and Patio! Cozy, with ample room for the two of us. Free departing buses just out front (to Keystone, Frisco, Breckinridge, etc). A great spot and accommodations. We have already booked again next summer!

Copper Ski Vacation

  • 4 of 5

I stayed here with my husband and parents for a ski vacation. The condo was very clean, cozy and had a great view. The condo had all the little things that make a place feel very homey which we all enjoyed immensely. My husband and I took the room with the twin beds and were very comfortable and enjoyed the private bathroom. The hot tub in our bathroom was used every night and was really nice after a day of skiing :) My parents loved the master suite. Everything in the the kitchen worked great. We would definitely rent this condo again.

Car: recommended

In the Summer, Lake Dillon is a great sailing placet. There are bike trails to go everywhere and the Dillon Amphitheater offers free concerts every week end.

In Winter, world class ski areas are 10 to 30 min away by free shuttle or car.

The views out of the condo are always spectacular: in Summer the Lake is dotted with sails, in the Fall, the aspen trees surrounding the lake are shimmering gold, in Winter snow covers lake and mountains and in Spring it is beautiful to see green covering the mountains once again.
