Coco-Nut's of Anna Maria Island is a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath home steps from the pristine white sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. Just walk 60 feet and you are on the beach. Two other beach accesses are located a block to the north and two to the south.

Coco-Nuts in located in the prestigious north end of the island within walking distance to public transportation, shopping & restaurants on Pine Avenue, and access to the fishing piers.There is also a free trolley system on the island.

The master suite is extra large and includes a king bed, a queen size sofa/bed, flat screen TV and a master bathroom suite. Cots are available for additional sleeping. The other bedrooms are equipped with a queen and two twin beds. Both rooms also include TV's and share a hall bathroom.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances that you would ever need. (The owner loves to cook and entertain!)

There is ample family room space for large families with a brand new 52' flat screen TV. This house is an open floor plan with the kitchen opening to the breakfast area, family room, and formal dining area.

There is also a courtyard in back with shower that contains a gas grill ,a charcoal grill with patio tables and chairs. Gated courtyard.

This rental is for the upstairs unit. The first floor unit can also be rented. It is a smaller separate residence great for in-laws or additional guests that may want some privacy. Please call for more details.

Coco-Nuts is our vacation home, not just a rental. We come often so the amenities are many and the warmth and love we feel for the island is seen throughout its walls.

About Mary Jo Cancelmo

Coco-Nuts is owned by an eighth generation Floridian, who has always had a house on Florida's waters...and who prefers the Gulf Beaches and the quaint, quiet beaches of Anna Maria. There are many times we visit our home for pleasure and to make sure it is maintained for our family and guests.

Why Mary Jo Cancelmo chose Anna Maria Island

This property was built and owned by a famous local sports commentator, who did many of his sports fishing news off the local Rod & Reel Pier. Its unique design is probably influenced by his son, who is a well-known Tampa architect. It is a corner lot and the beach access and beach is just across the road.

There are also 4 other beach accesses within a short walking distance - two being directly onto the Bean Point area. Our beach access leads to a wide white sandy beach. There are 3 Bean Point accesses on the northern tip. Ours is on the Gulf side. It is the widest and most deep. It is also the most private. The other two accesses are also only a short walk. The last of the three opens to the bay side.

Our property is the last road on the north end of the island but you can walk to the main street of Pine Ave in Anna Maria where you can catch a free trolley that will take you all over the island.

What makes this house unique

Since the owner also uses this property as often as time allows, Coco-nuts is constantly being up graded and maintained. Hurricane impact windows have been installed and appliances such as large screen TVs, TVs in all bedrooms, refrigerators, dishwashers, stoves are the newer models. Ceiling fans are throughout the house. Both a gas grill and charcoal grill are provided on the back patio.

Beach chairs, umbrellas, a small tent to provide shade for children are provided along with a sturdy beach cart.

The back courtyard is surrounded by a four foot seawall and gates. There are two areas gated so that pets from upstairs and downstairs can remain separated. The courtyard holds an umbrella/ patio table for six and other patio chairs. There is also an outdoor shower to wash the sand and salt off. The courtyard is accessed by the back kitchen doors and the garage door.

Location is right across from a beach access plus within walking distance of 3 other beach accesses. It is in the most private area of Anna Maria on the last expanse of the western Gulf Beach. Walk around the corner and you can be on Tampa Bay. This is the best area to fish from the shore, see the manatees, watch the dolphins swim by. It is within walking distance to the shops and restaurants on Anna Maria. You can catch the free trolley from 7AM to 11PM and go anywhere on the island!

Amazing Location

Our over all experience was wonderful. The weather was perfect for 2 weeks and our host was very accommodating. The location was the best and our duplex was comfortable and user friendly. Great experience!

Location could not be better

Quiet north end of Anna Maria. Across the street from about 4 beach access points. We walked all over the island. There was a full kitchen, 2 full baths and 3 bedrooms, though to get to the third bedroom you had to go through one of the other bedrooms. The interior could use some updating, but was clean and spacious. This was a second floor unit, which was fine for us. Plenty for us to do, though there was no pool and very little outdoor living space for the 2nd floor. Lots of windows for great breezes.

Owner's Response: Coconuts does not advertise as having a pool. Being true native Floridians, the Gulf right across the street is our pool...location and having beach access is more important to us. The courtyard has a separation fence only for the convenience of tenants who can bring one dog. Otherwise, the downstairs outside is shared by all and gates should be left open. If there was a misunderstanding, we should have been called. Neither unit had any dogs. We know our downstairs visitors well and know they are good about sharing. We are constantly updating, just as we all do at home...first time we have heard that statement in ten years. Anna Maria gets it quaintness by trying to remain "Old Florida" in character. Anyone in Florida remembering old Salty Sol Fleishman, the loved sports newscaster announcer in Tampa....knows that Captain Sol loved his home and we love it too. We wish we could update some things all the time...especially ourselves!

Lovely time!

Quiet and comfortable with everything we needed . Anna Maria has it all, and this property made it easy for us to walk the beach, ride bikes to restaurants and shops, with all the comforts of home. Mary Jo was welcoming, warm and left us with the feeling that her home was our home!

Lovely house, wonderful location

Our family enjoyed Christmas at Coconuts, having plenty of room to share meal preparation, and dining. We all loved the comfy bedrooms. The house was decorated for Christmas, and made us feel right at home. The neighborhood is quite beautiful, and quiet.

But the best was having easy access to the beautiful beach.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. Having traveled from NC to FL and not being familiar with AMI, I consulted her several times and always found her to be accessible.

We'll never forget our Christmas at Coconuts!

The perfect place to stay on Anna Maria Island!

Wow. We are looking back on our one-week stay at Coconuts as the best vacation of our life. The property exceeded our expectations in every aspect. It was spotlessly clean and located across the street from one of the very best beach access points. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with everything we needed. We felt completely at home which made it so much easier to just relax and enjoy the beach and everything that Anna Maria Island has to offer. We were in easy walking distance to restaurants, parks, playgrounds for the grandkids, and so much more. I cannot think of a single suggestion for the owner. There were even plenty of beach toys for the grandkids and a wagon to haul them to the beach. It was just perfect. We are already making plans to return for another week.

Perfect beach home

The house was so spacious. We had plenty of room & we were a party of 8. The master bedroom is huge. Bed was so comfortable. Home is so convenient to the beach & stores. We rode our bikes everywhere. Owners had plenty of beach towels to use which was nice. House was clean & stocked w/ plenty of linens. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. Outside area was nice for eating dinner. The kids loved the outdoor shower! The owner texted us to make sure everything was satisfactory. Great rental!

Coconuts is located at the southern tip of Tampa Bay.and on the prestiguos, quiet, north end of AM Island. Accessible by 2 bridges from the east, SR 64 (Manatee Ave.) and Cortez Ave. bridge. South bridge of AM leads to Long Boat Key, St. Armands Key, Sarasota area. St. Armands is the Palm Beach/Worth Ave. of the west coast of FL. provides a bit of heaven to the shopaholic, great restaurants to the food-aholic, and quaint areas to people watch with a glass of wine or sangria from the famous Columbia restaurant.

Sarasota is the home of the Ringling Museum of Fine Arts and John Ringling's home, which is open to the public. Wenzel Music Hall offers an array of concerts by musical artists and groups from all over the world. Tyler Arboretum offers a paradise to botanical lovers.

Visitors to the small island (6 miles in length) find 3 towns...Bradenton Beach is the southermost,...more "touristy" with one main commercial area which dead ends into its city pier. The pier will have a new restaurant in January, a fourth Anna Maria Oyster Bar, one of our favorites. It also has a nice little jewelry shop and a crepery - perfect for late morning brunch Holmes Beach, the middle township, has three little shopping areas, the first of which houses a Publix, CVS & Walgreens, a hardware store, and several eateries and a Subway. Further out on the island on Marina, there is the Holmes Beach Shopping Center anchored by a hardware center, several gift shops, a resort ware shop Irene's( which we recommend). Off from there is a Mimi's cafe, a favorite among the locals) and a beer and wine shop around the corner bend. Further down North Gulf drive, you will find the Beach Bistro, which is excellent, but pricey and noisy.

The White Egret and Egret in Anna Maria is a decorator's dream. On down to the northern tip and Anna Maria. One main shopping street..Pine Ave. Salon Salon is great for your beauty needs., several boutiques, and six or more eateries... We recommend you try them all....the kids love Two Scoops and the Donut Shop. Adults love the Sand Bar, Ginny and Janies, Slims, and the Waterfront(pricey).

Pine Ave. dead ends into the City Pier..great fishing and a little restaurant up top for various fish specialties...medium price range.

Take a right and go to the dead end. You end up at Gallati's Marina...Walk among the docks and the Yachts. Eat sushi at the Marina.

Take a left at the dead end of Pine. Hand a right onto North Bay Blvd. You will come to Rotten Ralph's Restaurant and City Pier. You will also find a play park for the kids...right on the beach, complete with public facilities. Again good fishing and a great medium priced breakfast, lunch, & dining experience can be found on North Bay Blvd.(2 blocks from Coconuts)..everyone has to go at least once....and its walking distance from Coconuts as is all of Pine Ave. North Shore is the last street north before the Gulf....quiet and most sought after....join us for that "It's five o'clock somewhere" will relax and soak in all that Florida used to be!

Free trolley runs the length of the island from Pine Ave. to Cocquina Park. Usually runs until 11pm. In addition you can catch another trolley for a minimal price and travel on down to St. Armands Key, the "Palm Beach/Worth Ave." of the west coast of Florida.
