The Space:
A Beary Happy Place is a wonderful log home, cozy and surrounded by tall pines. Just what you'd imagine in an alpine cabin! The parking area is paved with a downgrade slope toward the house. Easy access with 3 steps down and 1 step back up to the front sitting porch that leads to the front door.
As you enter the house, you'll notice the genuine wood floors, log beams and loads of mountain charm. The spacious kitchen welcomes you as you walk inside. Lots of counter space and pantry to unload the groceries. The kitchen is equipped with all new appliances including a stainless steel gas range, microwave, and dishwasher, There's a drip coffee maker and you'll love the huge deep sink and serving bar with seating for 4. A convenient powder bath is just off the kitchen and tucked away in a closet is a stacked full size washer & dryer.
The Primary Suite with private bath is just off the kitchen with a cozy king size bed and large windows with treetop views that let in lovely natural lighting. There's a TV, ceiling fan, walk-in closet and plenty of storage space. The private bath has a walk-in shower, single sink with lots of counter space and you'll love the jetted tub for relaxing after a day on the slopes or just because!
Just past the kitchen, the space opens up with high ceilings and huge windows that look up to the white fluffy clouds and indigo skies. There's a dining table with seating for 4 and the living area has plenty of comfy seating including power reclining sofa, wood burning stove, and big screen TV for everyone to gather for movie night or to watch the big game! Lots of windows surround the space with beautiful views of the canyon and tree tops.
Step out onto the huge covered back deck and you'll never want to leave. Plenty of seating to kick back and relax with views of the treetops, canyon and Ruidoso Valley. Take in the cool mountain breezes and the sound of birds singing. You'll likely see lots wildlife as they roam through the neighborhood and pass by the cabin. You'll love cooking on the new propane gas grill too! The deck is surely your go-to spot for morning coffee and evenings are also very pleasant on a chilly night, just fire up the propane fire table and propane heaters!
Back inside, there are 15 steps that lead up to the guest spaces. There's a cozy reading nook that's also laptop friendly when you just need some time to get work done. When you need a break, throw some darts at the dartboard!
2 cozy bedrooms await to welcome your guests or family. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other 2 twin beds. Both have beautiful furnishings and new bedding, TVs with cable and Netflix services, closets, ceiling fans, and lots of windows. Your guests will feel like they're in a tree house! There's a full bath accessed in the hallway that serves both bedrooms and equipped with shower/ tub combo, single sink with lots of counter space and a nice window for natural light.
The beautiful mountain cabin is equipped with central heat and A/C and a wood burning stove in the living area. There's free WiFi, TVs in the main living room and all 3 bedrooms w/ cable and Netflix. The propane gas grill is located on the back deck with a full tank of propane provided for your use. Firewood is not necessarily provided by owners, however, if there is firewood left from the the previous guest you are welcome to use it.
Guest Access:
SELF CHECK IN: Access codes for the remote lock are EMAILED to the reservation holder w/in 24 hours of arrival. Be sure to complete your guest check in form after booking and provide your email address and contact phone.
DIRECTIONS AND CHECK IN INSTRUCTIONS: For the privacy of any staying guest, physical addresses are not provided until booking and confirmation is complete.
DIGITAL GUESTBOOK: Directions, check in instructions, and everything you'll need to know are provided in the digital guestbook! The link is sent via email after booking and completing your check in form. We'll also send via SMS text message prior to arrival.
ACCESSING THE HOUSE: The driveway from the road to the house is paved with a slight decline. Parking available for up to 3 vehicles. From the walkway, there is 1 step up to the front porch and entry is thru the front door. Door codes are needed and provided to the staying guest w/in 24 hours of arrival. Guests have full access of the home except for any locked doors that are for owner access only.

While Ruidoso provides visitors and residents that "away from it all" feeling, we are conveniently located just 2.5 mile from the turn off to Ski Apache and Ruidoso Winter Park, 2 miles from Alto Lake, and 8 miles from Ruidoso's bustling Midtown and Grindstone Lake.
Lincoln County is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts with great public golf, live horse racing in summer months, and dozens of trails open year round for hiking and biking.
Step back in history and take a tour of Billy the Kid's stomping grounds on the Billy the Kid Scenic Byway or take a day trip to nearby White Sands National Park and other great state parks! From mountain peaks to the desert basin, we have it all!
Getting Around:
Roads through the neighborhood are paved and access to A Beary Happy Place is easy. In winter months, the driveway is plowed when snow if over 4 inches or as necessary. Some areas around Ruidoso and Alto are hilly to mountainous but generally easy to get around year round. During winter months, guests are encouraged to have access to 4-wheel drive and/or snow chains in the event of a major winter weather event. For extended stays, travel insurance is always recommended.
