This is a difficult review for me to write, but I am hoping it will benefit future travelers considering this property. Here's a list of some issues we faced:
1) The arrival process... Arrival instructions turned out to be totally incorrect. We were told we'd receive an access code on check-in day for a lock box located at a 7-11 around the corner. When we didn't receive the code by an hour prior to our arrival, I contacted the property manager and was told the lock box wasn't working and somebody would meet us at the apartment. Turns out they opted to leave the apt open and left the keys in the kitchen for us without even telling us (seriously, no keypad lock?). Very poor communication!
2) When we finally go into the apt. it was like an oven...over 30 celsius (86 F). If the property manager had taken the time to drop off the keys, couldn't they have turned on the portable AC unit and/or opened a window? It took 2 days (out of our 4-day stay) to get the unit down to 24 C (75F).
3) When we contacted the property manager regarding the heat situation and informed them that it was even hotter up in the bed loft area we were told to sleep on the pull-out sofa. At close to $500 (CAD)/night, I didn't plan on sleeping on an uncomfortable pull-out sofa!
4) Noise! Construction in and around the building that's not stopping any time soon & lots of noisy night life in the area . Bring earplugs if you hope to sleep.
5) Convenient location but a sketchy building.
