Restored Romantic Streamside Cabin, Hot Tub, Free Wi-Fi

Bedrooms 3
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Camp Festivus is a unique 1926 Vintage cabin that has been thoughtfully restored, featuring a stone (Steiner) fireplace, reclaimed barnwood and 6 person hot tub all on a private creekside acre.

Challenge your nerve by swimming in Clear Creek or relax in the hot tub over looking the water. Indulge your inner slug, grab a book and read in the hammock.

Feeling lucky, you can try fishing in the back yard or walk across the street to see if they are biting in the Sandy river. Afterwards you can cook up what you catch at the outdoor fire pit or grill, then fall asleep to the sound of water or gaze at the old growth trees or creek view from every window.

You can throw down your gear or tune your bike or skis in our large heated mudroom, and toast s'mores out back or come inside and listen to Pandora or watch a movie on one of our flat screen TV's. Do you want a bit more privacy for the adults then the kids can go down to the comfy TV room with flat screen, dvd player and stereo, there are tons of pillows and fold out mats to relax, watch movies, or listen to music.

The iron and woodwork and much of the furniture have been custom designed and produced (by the owner) to maximize the beauty of the cabin as well as the surrounding area.

Camp Festivus, a place you can rest(ivus).

About The Owner

Having two children and two dogs of our own we have tried to make our cabin a place for everyone to enjoy. Since we both work in creative fields we felt so lucky to come across a property with such an amazing location as well as a great history that we could put our artistic stamp on and it would only enhance its beauty.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2010

Why The Owner chose Rhododendron

Living in Portland we wanted a place that would be easy for our family to use (don't enjoy long car rides) and that would be something we would all enjoy. The year round access to the outdoors at Mt. Hood has to offer is unbelievable. Our cabin is so close to everything (hiking, biking, skiing, restaurants, Stumptown coffee, etc. But it is still so private and secluded, the best of both worlds.

What makes this cabin unique

Right on Clear Creek, old growth trees, wildflowers, options to eat indoors or outdoors at the custom built picnic table on the deck overlooking the water. Two flat screen TV's, Blu-ray, and 6 person hot tub.

Loved everything about this place!

  • 5 of 5

We decided to go with our gut and book this cabin based on the amazing reviews it had. So glad we did! The pictures don't do it justice. The cabin has everything you need. On the main level is the large living room with two sitting areas, large mudroom, kitchen, large laundry room, dining area, a master with a queen bed and bath, a second bedroom with a queen bed and another area off the second bedroom with a day bed, and a second bathroom. Downstairs on the lower level in the back of the cabin is a media room with a day bed and tons of cushions to make a pallet if needed. Upstairs is a large loft with two day beds. There is a large covered patio and a nice roomy hot tub outside off the deck. We sat in the hot tub for hours each day looking at the stream. The stream was flowing and you could hear the water from the house, which was very relaxing. We didn't realize how much it rains there until a local told us it is a temperate rainforest. Which didn't bother us because we just wanted a relaxing vacation. We did drive 30 minutes up the mountain to Timberline and think it is so neat to not have snow at the cabin and a short drive away an entire ski resort. The beds and bedding were so comfortable!!! We did have to time our showers spread apart to conserve hot water. Other than that and one of the large burners on the stove wouldn't work, everything was great!!! Highly recommend booking here.

A cozy and wonderful retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with 3 families for a ski weekend. House was charming and cozy and we all loved it. The decor was rustic enough to make us all feel like we were on an adventure in the mountains, -and charming / cozy enough to make us feel like we were really on holiday. Denny was amazingly responsive to our needs. Kitchen was wonderful to cook in and the fireplace was divine. Overall we all gave it an A+, and all cannot wait to return. Thank you!

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time in this cabin. There was 8 of us and the layout of the bedrooms were perfect for our situation! It's hard to pick our favorite part, between the beautiful backyard stream, to the hammock, to the amazing fireplace, to the unbelievably well stocked kitchen, to the amazing hiking so close to the you can see, we really enjoyed our weekend trip here. If we are in the area again, we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else! Thanks again for a great vacation!

PS. our stay in this cabin was being threatened by the local wild fires in the area. The owner was so wonderful to work with and always responded so quickly to my questions in regards to the local reports about the fires. Thankfully the fire was under control by the time we stayed, as we saw no fire damage to the area or any smoke!

Beautiful private and cozy💖 perfect for quiet couple or family and friend gatherings!

  • 5 of 5

Pulling up to the cabin was breath taking! I was so happy with my decision! My husband and I traveled from Virginia for our anniversary and stayed 3 nights! Very roomy indoors, climate controls for different areas was a plus when coming in from the hot tub at midnight. There were several chairs downstairs and we took them down to the rocky stream and talked as we listened to the water rush over the rocks. Every morning I made coffee while looking out the large kitchen window and then walked the property and sat out front while enjoying the birds and squirrels. There is a road a little ways down but it’s rare to see a car drive by. There seem to be a lot of cabins in that area, nicely spaced apart, and allows for peace and quiet because we all seem to have the same agenda: get away from daily life and enjoy each other! When looking for a cabin, the rustic look is important to me. The ceilings are wood, the sink sits in what appears to be a handmade wooden cabinet, many of the tables and beds appear to be handmade and out of wood, it definitely has a rustic appearance and private cozy feel that tells you that you are far from where you came and the world can’t get to you! We enjoyed the hammock and I relaxed there why my husband cooked our dinner on the grill. The back deck is covered with a part metal and part clear roof, beautiful for letting sun shine down on us as we ate and relaxed in the awesome reclining chairs and allowed us to enjoy the sound of rain on our last day. Sky lights in the main sitting area let a beautiful sun Ray in right around 1pm. The furniture was comfy and the tv is a smart TV so we were able to stream our Netflix account and watch our shows together. Brown blanket SUPER SOFT! The sound system is surround and we played our music right from our phones playlist. There is a list of trails to travel that are handicap friendly and anywhere from 0.3- 9 miles long. There was a football & other sport equipment to keep kids busy and a slew of kids dvds downstairs in a separate living space that included a wii and a DVD player with a cable tv and a VERY comfy day bed Everything we sat or laid on was soft and comfortable. The pics initially were questionable but oh my! It was all amazing and so spacious! There are heat lamps in the bathroom- very clean- no dust anywhere! full washer/dryer- pots/pans/panini maker! The pics do not justice! This is an amazing beautiful piece of land! We decided this was the best vacation we’ve ever had
