We enjoyed our stay at the Gallery at Six. Close to everything Brandon has to offer. This was our second stay at the Gallery. We hope to visit again soon.
Loved this property! Everything was amazing- Edward is very helpful and communicative, his gallery is incredible, the finishes and personal touches throughout the home are quality and high design inspired, center of adorable town- really a special place. And the amazing bed, shower and lazy-boy chairs- wow!!! We will be back!!!
This house was beautiful, from the gallery on the first floor to the amazing kitchen and bedroom upstairs. Being walking distance from town. I wish I had more time to stay. The host was so nice and accommodating!
The property had everything we needed including a beautiful patio area for us to gather with friends. And with proximity to town, we could walk to dinner and other events. Will absolutely return when visiting Brandon.

Absolutely unique and amazing experience staying here. Space is gorgeously appointed and impeccably clean. Walk out the door right into a cute town with all the amenities right there. Edward was the perfect host: attentive to detail, communicative and pleasant. We will definitely stay here again if in the area!
A great stay and I've already recommended it to family visiting Brandon. A meticulously well kept space that's incredibly convenient. It will be my first choice every visit from now on.
Overall impression? ... WOW! Seriously the pictures do not do justice for how absolutely stunning this property and destination is! My fiance and I ran away from reality on a whim, and this place topped all the Vrbos & Airbnbs we've EVER stayed at. The Gallery portion of the home is so beautifully designed, gentle on the eyes with custom lighting and music throughout. Vintage chairs and custom made wood plank benches for pleasant viewing of the artwork. The attention to detail and angles of observation truly give each room and space spectacular. Off of the gallery, a stunning patio with more gorgeous wood accents, custom architecture, and privacy ! The upstairs living space, renovated to luxury standard, has ample space, unique accents, and so many fun gadgets and whistles! The swedish shower and zero gravity bed were amazing. Again the attention to detail was incredible! Our hosts, Edward & Dorothy were absolutely LOVELY, kind, informative, they recommended some places for dinner, pastries in the morning, and scenic hikes not far from the Gallery. The town of Brandon, is lovely, quiet, and quaint. Just about everything is within walking distance! We did dinner at Cafe Provence, which everything was yummy! Pastries as Morningside Bakery, breakfast at Mae's place, five stars for both. And we hiked the Falls at Llana. Dipped my feet in the cold mountain water to say I did it! We will absolutely be returning in the future !!!
The property was a masterful renovation with an art studio on the first floor and living quarters on the second floor. The town is in walking distance with nice parks, restaurants, shops, and breweries- a quintessential New England small town. Edward had great suggestions and was helpful at every turn.
We visited Brandon for a wedding recently and had a reservation that was cancelled at the Brandon Inn two weeks before the event. I stumbled upon Edward and Dorothy's property on VRBO the day our hotel was cancelled and booked immediately. The house was incredible- beautiful, interesting and because of a recent renovation everything was sparkly and new and very well done. The hosts are extremely accommodating and helpful and paid attention to little details that made our stay special. We loved the Gallery! would highly recommend as a modern, spacious, beautiful alternative to some of the nearby hotels.
This was by far the best experience we have ever had with a VRBO rental. Such gracious and thoughtful hosts - Edward and Dorothy!
The gallery, the apt, the details were all more than you might imagine. More amenities and little goodies than you could want. But the finishes and comfort details were just outstanding. Stayed for a few days and will be back soon!! Just do it - you won’t be disappointed!
I cannot think of a single aspect of our stay that could be improved. The property is an expertly rebuilt home using fine finishes, with an art gallery on the first floor and a one bedroom apartment upstairs.
Edward and Dorothy are perfect hosts, helpful in any way. The community is storybook like, with restaurants, coffeeshops, grocery and drug stores within a short walk thru the beautiful downtown.
Without question, we would reserve this property again when in the area.
Very high marks!
Although I rarely leave reviews, I feel the need to share that Edward and Dorothy’s Vrbo is the most spectacular place I’ve ever stayed. The newly updated home is right in the center of Brandon VT, a quaint, beautiful, picturesque New England town. The first floor is a stunning art gallery with awe inspiring works of art, and the second floor is a spacious, well appointed suite. Large rooms and it all looks brand new. I struggle to find the words to describe this amazing property, truly. We wished that we could have stayed longer. Edward was extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating every step of the way (even before and after our stay). 10/10 would recommend. 6/5 stars.
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in mid October 2023 at Dorothy and Edward’s beautiful property. We have been renting through VRBO for 10 years. This was our favorite rental. The attention to detail is amazing. The home is immaculate and includes a private suite upstairs and a stunning gallery and patio downstairs. Within walking distance of downtown Brandon, there are stores, restaurants, galleries and green spaces. We were very fortunate to meet the owners, Edward and Dorothy and learned of the history of the home’s renovation. True labor of love. Just pack your clothes and visit… everything else you’ll need is here.
I don’t really know how to leave the type of review that does justice to Edward and Dorothy’s Gallery at Six. It is such an amazing property. The art gallery on the first floor with a mixture of antiques is simply stunning. And it’s all for the enjoyment of you! But when you take the stairs to the living quarters and see the ceiling, the furnishings and the rest, you won’t want to leave. I’m not sure who had the eye for the design of this (I’m guessing Edward), but they didn’t miss a thing. I’ll bet you can fit 8 people in the shower (but that might be weird). And the adjustable bed was simply fantastic. It can literally fold you in half (but that would be weird too…haha). The furniture is all so comfortable and top of the line. Probably one of the best things for a guest though is that there are tasteful note cards strategically placed throughout the living quarters to provide operating instructions (such as the television or the anti-fog bathroom mirror). And the absolute best thing was the communication with Edward. I so want to be friends with him as he has a very witty personality and is quite charming. Don’t just reserve The Gallery at Six for one night…you will be disappointed that you have to leave. Thank you so much for your hospitality Edward and Dorothy!!
Excellent overnight stay. Lots of details in this unit. Very well put together. Excellent communication with owner.

About the host
Hosted by Dorothy & Edward Loedding
Dorothy is a 7th generation Vermonter with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Vermont. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Edward is a Vermonter-by-choice, residing in Brandon since 2001. Their love of this beautiful state runs deep. Edward earns his living as a visual artist, with hundreds of collectors spanning the globe as Dorothy handles the business side of their relationship. Their home and studio are on the same street as The Gallery at Six, just a short block away. Stop by for a visit to see the studio where Edward works, or just talk about the many things this charming corner of Vermont has to offer.
Why they chose this property
For years, many of Edward's collectors would ask "why don't you have a gallery in Vermont? We want to visit!" In 2015, this property became available, so they purchased it and began the task of completely gutting this 1880 house and converting it into a world-class art showcase and luxurious guest accommodations. The idea of combining a gallery with a guest suite was born of a passion for sharing both their artwork and the beautiful places that inspires it.
What makes this property unique
"Home" is a word that is profoundly important to Dorothy and Edward. It is a place where we gather, celebrate, relax, love and laugh. With this understanding, being at home with artwork means being in a private, comfortable space where you can take the time to develop a more intimate art experience than you can in a public gallery or museum. The Gallery at Six is unique in its ability to offer this type of experience. Add in luxurious accommodations in a historic home, situated in a quintessential Vermont village, surrounded by gorgeous mountains, lakes and streams, and you're sure to create memories that will last a lifetime!
