CalypsoBlu: Updated 3 bedroom villa - pool, near beach with ocean view.

CalypsoBlu boasts contemporary Caribbean design, hotel quality amenities, large pool and nearby beaches. With a lovely Caribbean Sea view 100 feet above the beach on an acre of private land, this fully-air-conditioned three-bedroom private villa is located in a secluded area only five miles from the airport and three miles from downtown St. Thomas on the island's sunny south side with sunset views.

CalypsoBlu has updated living/dining room furnishings and a modern well-equipped kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances. Internet connected HDTVs are also provided in all rooms. High speed WiFi is provided throughout the villa and on its decks at the island's top speed, suitable for video streaming. Sliding glass doors with screens open all around the living/dining area so you can enjoy the sights, sounds and tropical breezes even when inside.

Spend a day around the pool (5’ deep throughout and 25’L X 11’W), enjoying lunch prepared on the gas grill. Nap while listening to the sounds of the Caribbean Sea lapping at the shore. Marvel as the cruise ships pass close by entering the islands main port.

All three bedrooms enjoy a private tiled bath, reading area, HDTV and Wi-Fi. Luxury bed and bath linens are provided. All three bedrooms have private entrances onto the pool deck. Bedrooms 1 and 3 have desks/tables with chairs suitable for working, as does the main living area.

CalypsoBlu is approximately 2,300 square feet indoors with an additional 1,200 square feet of deck/veranda space outdoors, much of it covered. A fully automatic backup power generator and water filtration system ensure your ultimate comfort. The villa is rented to one group at a time and is never shared. The villa is unfortunately not wheel chair friendly with several steps between living area and bedrooms. The villa is also not suitable for younger children as all bedrooms have direct pool access.

CalypsoBlu is managed by an on-island company, providing you with access to a concierge who can arrange anything from an in-Villa massage or chef, to a private yacht charter or the assistance of dedicated 24/7 maintenance personnel.

This house is amazing and was exactly what we needed, as three couples staying together. It had three bedrooms with exterior doors and common areas both inside and out. We loved the view! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. I highly recommend this house! There were a few negatives: hard to find (could have used some signage), very rough road back to the house, and the pool is at least 5 feet deep all around the pool. If we wouldn't have bought floats, we would not have been able to enjoy it. The positives really outweighed the negatives, and the communication was excellent! I would definitely go back to this home!

Check in was a little strange - house is left open with keys on the counter. No check out instructions that I could find. Other than that the stay was great. The final part of the road to the VRBO is very rough - I wouldn’t suggest driving it in a car.

Paradise

Calypso Blu is an absolute gem with an unbeatable view. It feels like your very own secluded paradise, it was hard to leave the pool to go explore the rest of the island!! Communication with the property manager was top notch, every question we had was answered promptly. 10/10 we can’t wait to come back!

Just Paradise

The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and a nice assortment of spices. After a day at the beach, we relaxed in and around the pool. The view from the house was exceptional. It would be helpful to have a sign with the house name at the top of the dirt road.

Great Place in Frenchman's Bay

This was the perfect property to maintain social distance , be safe and enjoy great views. The house is amazing and well equipped. Great for families with older kids given the bedroom setup. Management was responsive and helpful. Will definitely rent again.

Great place to stay. Beautiful property. They provided tremendous service and help with making reservations for all of our activities. Absolutely the BEST service!! Our only disappointment was that the path to the beach below was not available to us. I was really looking forward to morning and evening walks on the beach.

Anniversary paradise

My husband and I spent 8 days here for our anniversary. The house was perfect. The views were amazing! The kitchen was very well stocked for cooking meals. We were very centrally located. Which made driving easy. The views from the bedrooms were beautiful. The sun set was beautiful from the balcony every night. We will definitely stay in this villa again. Absolutely gorgeous property with stunning views! The property was as described and was very well stocked. The property had almost everything you could want in the kitchen. We enjoyed breakfast every morning and enjoyed grilling out by the pool. It was the perfect property for three couples to share as each bedroom had an en suite and were very private. Our drive to the property the first day was challenging - we missed a few turns - but after the first trip we knew the landmarks and it was no problem. Justin the property manager was very helpful and responsive. There was a problem with the AC on Sunday afternoon and he had someone at the property to fix the problem within two hours of our call. He provided suggestions for our vacation including descriptions of the local beaches and restaurant suggestions. He put us in touch with their concierge which helped us book a full day private charter with Caribbean Alibi Boat Charters with Captain Jesse which was one of our favorite days!We highly recommend Villa Calypso Blu and hope to be back soon! Thank you for a very memorable vacation!

Best Family Vacation Ever!

The house was perfect for our family of four with two adult kids. The view was even more spectacular in person. Very clean and stocked with everything we needed. Great location, convenient to everything with a sense of being remotely located. Walking to the beach was a challenge, but was a fun adventure. The only cons were very low water pressure in the showers especially the lower room. And the upper room AC could not keep up with the heat while we were there. Overall we loved it and plan on coming back.

Had a few hiccups on arrival but Justin was right on it and got them resolved. The two things we would suggset would be a new bed in bedroom 3 and maybe adding a seperate ice machine.Fridge could not keep up.This was our 3rd time there and we will return.!!!

Wi-Fi was only available in the main living space. Bedrooms were unable to connect to Wi-Fi. All bedrooms being disconnected from the main living area/kitchen was not ideal. Well stocked kitchen. Needs new kitchen chairs. Pool was fabulous! Well stocked with sunscreen and floats for pool. Outdoor living space needs a TV.

Secluded Island Paradise

We have been frequent visitors to the island over the last 27 years and this marked our second trip back since the devastating hurricane. We are happy to see so much rebuilding occurring. This house was everything we could have asked for especially with two teenagers who need to have their own space (separate outside entrances to each bedroom). The rooms were comfortable and the common areas were top notch and I have to say the cleanest grill and pool I have ever seen at a rental property. We enjoyed our late afternoons and evening by the pool and on the porch catching the sunset after days exploring the islands less common beaches but morningstar beach was definitely a top spot for our teens. They loved that they could walk down to the beach although the path could use some improvement (we needed to walk over a fallen segment of chain link fence). I do not believe the fence is on this property so no fault of the property owner and likely left over storm damage but just be weary. I would drive to the public beach parking if you have smaller children or are not physically fit to hike back up the mountain. The interior of the home was nicely upgraded and we enjoyed having breakfast together and reading the home’s history online. The house is equipped with everything you need for 6 people with plenty of space for everyone. The road to the property is a gravel road with some pretty big ruts so definitely get a jeep or SUV. I would not hesitate to book the property again

Great location, private, gorgeous views, comfortable home

We stayed a month at CalypsoBlu and enjoyed it! The owner clearly has tried to anticipate needs, and make his property a fine vacation rental. The management company was very helpful and responsive. The location is very good, just 10 minutes to Charlotte Amalie, stores and restaurants and 20 minutes the other direction to the Redhook area. It was fun to watch cruise ships leaving the harbor as they come quite close. The private pool is excellent, and was used often for a refreshing dip! The way the 3 bedrooms are laid out, each is very private and quiet. The A/C is excellent in the main room and bedrooms. One downside is the long unpaved and rocky private driveway which makes going and coming somewhat of a chore. Overall we had a wonderful time at CalypsoBlu!

Central location to all things VI!

The house was as described and ready for our arrival. Our only negative were the 2 primary en-suites were on the same side of the house (upper & lower). It didn't deter our enjoyment & we had a great week regardless. Kitchen was well equipped with the essentials & we had everything we needed for the week. Pool was chilly but comfortable & offered relaxation on our lazy 'home' days. Central location kept us close to both ends of the islands & we took the car ferry to St. John several times. Great hiking on both islands once you are off the beaten path. Check out Lanai Restaurant which is just around the corner from the house & beachfront, we ate there several times! Great communication from hosts/staff before, during & after our stay.

Another week in paradise

March 5-12, 2024. My husband and I and our 2 grown children loved our stay at the Calypso Blu! This is not our first visit to the island. The villa is just as described and we were all impressed with the cleanliness of the home! All bedrooms/baths are separate from the main living area by the pool area and lanai so we all had our private place to chill. The bed linens were comfy, the kitchen fully stocked with all utensils and some spices and seasonings. We all enjoyed the saltwater pool and then there is the view! One of the best on the island! Justin is an excellent host-very responsive to text and email and the location is so great-close to snorkeling, excursions, dining and shopping! Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, watching the cruise ships sail in and out from the pool deck. We recommend a jeep or 4 wheel drive as the villa sits at the end of a steep road-very private with beautiful plantings and again there is always the view! We will hopefully return! We highly recommend this villa!

Slice of paradise

We loved staying at CalypsoBlu. The property is very clean, the view is spectacular, the pool was certainly our favorite part about the property. Communication with Justin and the management team was great. He even gave us a contact # for a taxi guy since we were 5 hrs delayed arriving and couldn’t pick up our rental car after hours, which was probably best case scenario as “learning” to drive on the left in the dark on the narrow road leading to the property was probably not going to be a good idea. Only nuisance were the mosquitoes in the kitchen/living space so bring some repellents (there were some sprays and a couple of things at the property available). Great location to go exploring and close enough to the car ferry that goes to St. John. Strongly recommend to rent a car - many suggest a Jeep, but we had a mini van and it got the job done just fine. We liked that the bedrooms were separate and not connected to the main living area so our baby was able to take her naps and the early birds were able to get coffee in the kitchen without having to tip toe and whisper. We loved our stay and would certainly come back again. Thank you for hosting us at your gorgeous property.

Unbeatable view and excellent location

CalypsoBlu is an amazing villa with an unbeatable view. It is centrally located between Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook. It is secluded so you have a lot of privacy. It was very clean and spacious and had everything we needed and more. It is well decorated, and the kitchen was larger than it looked in the photos. The 3 bedrooms all have their separate entrances and are not connected to each other or the main living area. That allowed a lot of privacy, and my tween/teen boys loved it, feeling like they had their own apartments. It made this momma a little nervous at first but I got used to it. The pool was great and bigger than we expected. We had a couple of maintenance related issues with the pool and AC in the 2nd master, but Justin was very responsive and had them both addressed. Neither of them impacted the satisfaction of our stay. The sliding door to the main living area is broken and doesn’t shut all the way, nor lock. We just kept the screen door closed to prevent bugs from coming in, and the opening was small enough that it didn’t impact the temperature in the living area. It was more a nuisance than anything. This was a great property with excellent service, and we’d highly recommend it and would stay here again!

When we first visited St. Thomas in 2001 we knew we had to come back. After several years of vacations in many a tropic climate, we chose sunny St. Thomas, the capital city of America's Caribbean. For a family from Chicago, the Virgin Islands are ideal.

Why they chose this property

We considered many properties when selecting a vacation home. But when we saw CalypsoBlu, with her Caribbean design and open floorplan, we knew she was the house for us. With large sliding doors and windows everywhere, even inside the villa we feel we are outside, which is what we want when we visit the island. While we've updated the villa since our purchase, we've kept it Caribbean charm while adding a wide-range of amenities.
