We were able to check in early which was wonderful. As we unpacked our kitchen items we found several bowls that were greasy feeling so we decided to wash some dishes and the cupboard doors were sticky even after washing them. Other items noted...TV's in all rooms either had no remotes or wrong remotes with old or no batteries in them. We did have a maintenance person come and thenwe had 2 functional TV's out of 7.We were informed at that time the upstairs kitchen microwave did not work but a replacement was on order. Other items noted...A kitchen light bulb needs replaced.New battery in wall clock on 3rd floor.There are No teaspoons in the 3rd floor kitchen.There could be more silverware in general.We used and enjoyed the hot tub although there was hair found in it.But the worst of all this was the mattresses...they all need to be replaced! Especially the 2nd floor bedroom that has a bathroom off the bedroom. Best part...the views, the beach, 4 bathrooms and being with family!

This property deserves some investment, better maintenance and improved cleaning. The home is in good condition, is spacious and in a great location. However it's not acceptable to discover on arrival that neither the main kitchen microwave or dishwasher function. The towels smelled of mildew throughout the home, half of the mattresses are completely worn out. The kitchenware (plastic dishes, scorched pots and pans) is poor and there were cobwebs/dust all over the high ceilings. I brought a group of people here to experience the Oregon Coast, which was wonderful, but I was embarrassed to have to apologize for the state of this rental accommodation.

Not worth it!

The location, allowing early check in, and all of us staying in one house are where the positives end. The dishwasher would start up and quit working after a few minutes. Not enjoyable doing dishes for that many people the entire time! We had to wash the dishes when we first got there, not sure how the cleaner emptied the dishwasher and didn’t notice how dirty they all were! Disgusting! We communicated about that issue and there was an acknowledgment sent to us but that was it. No offer of sending anyone to look at it. We then asked for compensation and all we got was we’re looking into your issue. Very poor customer service! Upon arrival the dumpsters were completely full and no communication about garbage day. We had to ask and it wasn’t until day 4 of our stay. Not ideal with that many people in a house! Bird poop all over the deck when we arrived. Couldn’t walk from one end to the other had to go inside the house and back out the other door. Communicated the issue and were told someone would come right away to clean it. Never showed up. There’s no cleaning supplies of any kind for us to clean it up. Mattresses need to be replaced. Huge hole in the one- large enough to fit an entire large throw pillow in! Extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable to advertise that two people can sleep in that bed. Black mold all over inside the windows and curtains. Terrible musty smell! A dehumidifier would do wonders! Many of the towels smelled of urine. Disappointing experience!

Lots of stairs.

This home was perfect for our large group, however, it does have a lot of stairs. The main living space is on the very top floor so if you anyone in your party has knee issues, this house may not be for you. It wasn’t stocked that great (for our party of 10, we usually never run out of dishwasher pods or toilet paper, and the DISHWASHER doesn’t work!!) However, the beach access, hot tub and beautiful views were hard to beat!

Not worth it!

The positives of this home- great view of the ocean and short walk to the beach! Nice that we could fit so many of us in one home and they did let us check in a couple of hours early. The positives stop right there! Upon arrival the bottom floor and a little on the second floor smelled horrible musty. Needs a dehumidifier! Not a nice smell to walk into upon arrival. There was bird poop on the middle level deck. So much that we couldn’t even walk from one end to the other. Had to go back inside the house and out the other door to get to the other side. We messaged and were told someone would come clean it shortly and nobody ever showed up. The dishwasher would start up for a couple minutes and then quit working. Doing dishes for 16 people was miserable! When we arrived, most of the dishes were dirty not sure how the cleaner could’ve in their right mind unloaded the dishwasher and not noticed how dirty the dishes were. So we got to start the trip by washing all the dishes. Two of the toilets had issues flushing and one completely quit flushing so sharing 2.5 toilets with 16 people wasn’t fun. The mattresses need to be replaced badly. Huge hole in one of them. Could literally put an entire large throw pillow in it! Both of the dumpsters were completely full when we arrived. They said nobody had stayed for two weeks so not sure how the dumpsters couldn’t be dumped in that much time. They were not dumped until our 4th day. Not ideal with 16 people in a house. There is black mold inside the washing machine on the top floor, black mold on most of the windows, and black mold on some of the curtains. Two of the people staying reacted very badly to the mold. The cupboards above the stove on the top level are full of grease and need some serious scrubbing. Needs more deck furniture. There’s only two chairs for a house that sleeps so many. Contacted them regarding all of the issues and all we heard was that they were looking into it, that was 5 days ago and haven’t heard another word. Terrible customer service along with a house that needs some serious help! This house is so NOT worth the money we paid. Highly recommend looking elsewhere!

Rockaway

Nice quiet clean neighborhood-easy access to highway and beach. The lower bedroom with kitchen needs a new mattress!! Stained and large defect in mattress also second floor bedroom to left has need of new mattress-springy and noisy. Puzzles provided as entertainment are missing large amount of pieces. Some of kitchen utensils/plates were not cleaned—as if dishwasher did not remove food particles and dried on food. The hot tub was enjoyed by a lot in the party. And the spiral staircase to outside deck area - great scenery!!

Such a great house and neighborhood for family and friends!

The house and location was perfect for Our family reunion complete with our fur babies! The layout was great for all the generations. We had readers on the upper lookout and decks, while the cooks had a great view and ocean soundtrack while making meals, and the littles had games and fort building when not at the beautiful beach! This was our first tim staying on the southern end of Rockaway, and would say it charmed us and we will definitely be staying on this end again. We did end up needing to buy a few things at the dollar general to be able to bake (no measuring cups) and there was a lot of sand throughout the house when we arrived

Homey Place for a Group Not Looking for a Show Home

We gathered to celebrate a benchmark birthday gathering for my birthday for five days over the 4th of July holiday. This house did a pretty good job of accommodating a mix of families and couples. My sister summed it up by saying it was a great place for families to be comfortable and not have to worry about the furniture being new or pristine. The beach access and views are very nice. Ample parking for 6 cars. Having two refrigerators was helpful. The lower kitchen is a bedroom, so we did not use it for cooking. Some beds were squeaky and a bit uncomfortable. Some were fine.... No air conditioning, but breezes kept the house at a comfortable temp. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and had a nice time. Thank you.

For the money this place is an absolute dump. I think that either something dramatically changed in how this place is being managed or the other reviews are fake. The good: it’s fairly close to the beach. That’s it. The bad: dirty! This place is a pig

Walkable to beach and large enough for big groups

We had a great time. The house was plenty large enough for our group of 16 and there was plenty of parking for our larger trucks. The walk to the beach was manageable for little kids and also the older or a lower. Hot tub worked perfect and the ocean views were better than expected. Lots of towels available and kitchen was stocked. So glad I packed slippers, floors were a little chilly (October).

Annual family trip to Rockaway Beach - our 2nd stay at Grey Haven

Location is nice. Beds are very uncomfortable. Hot tub would not hold a decent temperature. We ran out of hot water for showers every morning. Would be nice if there were a broom available.

Family vacation 2023

We really enjoyed staying at Gray Haven. The house was large enough that everyone had their own space and we could also all gather together for meals and games. The beach is realy close with easy access.

Lovely large family home!

Plenty of space for a family with many members with plenty of break out spaces for smaller groups with different activities! Dog friendly and very short walk to the beach!

Big house, great location, rough around the edges

It’s a great place to gather with other friends/families. Access to the beach is easy and the view from the crow’s nest is beautiful. Beds need to be replaced—they are very uncomfortable and squeaky. House needs a deep clean (stinky washing machine, dirty corners, crusty food in the oven that caused smoke), but we appreciated Vacasa’s responsiveness when we called to get the oven checked.

Large Group Worthy

We loved the many private spaces, the huge decks, and high crows nest deck. It is a very cute house. The beach is beautiful and easily accessed by a cute trail. The spaces were very comfortable. The dishwasher and garbage disposal were broken, The hot tub was fine after it got to full temperature, but that took about a day.

Paradise!

Steps from the sand, ocean views and sounds, fantastic house, what more could we ask for? The hot tub was hot! Having two kitchens was awesome! The beds were dreamy. Our group loved this place! Thank you for the opportunity to be with our family in such a great home!
