This was a very fun, charming, rustic historical home. We loved the beautiful property and surrounding scenery, right on the lake, with plenty of room for parking and all the fun games and sports, the kayaks were the favorite and plenty of space to play games at night inside or outside or cuddle on the very comfortable couches. The kids didn't want to leave the property the entire week. We really enjoyed our stay and the hosts thought of everything!

Perfect location!!
The house had everything we needed for a relaxing week in the lake. What a beautiful piece of property.
The location is amazing right on the lake. Spent our hours kayaking and floating.
The house is a bit rustic and the main room is in the middle of the house which can make things awkward for the teens trying to get back and forth to the living room but it worked out. Property management was great.

Not what I expected
Be careful with this one. When we opened the front door, the first thing we were hit with was the smell of mold. I am allergic to many molds and my sinuses went crazy. There was mold on the walls and stains on the bedspread of the downstairs bedroom. The kitchen was “extremely” dated. Going up the stairs to the remaining bedroom was very hazardous if you had a drink on the beautiful deck( Best part of the property). Not sure how the stairs made it through a short term rental inspection. The third bedroom was in the garage building. Bedspread also stained upon arrival. The picture of the dock belonged to the neighbors. Lakefront access was very limited due to the high level of the lake and the railroad ties ( i am guessing they were supposed to be stairs) that were more hazardous than helpful. The best part of this rental was that the property manager was very helpful with us getting our reservation reversed minus a couple of fees. Would have been a nice lakefront stay except for the mold smell from the deck. Could not even air out the house as there were no screens on the windows. Again, the property management company was great. The owners need to spend some money for a more pleasant stay

Safety hazards and Toilets backed up
First day 1 toilet backed up & overflowed. 2nd day the other toilet backed up. We all had to go find restrooms in town. Upstairs the entry to the two "rooms" is not lit, complete darkness. One has to stoop and feel with your hand so you do not hit your head. Complete safety issue. There are spiders tucked away in all corners. The cabin has multiple holes in the roof / ceiling of upper rooms. The worst safety hazard is the stairs leading to the water. The bottom stairs are washed away leaving the large railroad ties exposed and in the way. You have to carefully climb over each one, carrying the dingy while maneuvering over the railroad ties & large loose rocks. While navigating this area, you also have to avoid the rebar and wire sticking up out of the area. There is a hazard of not just falling but also being impaled by rebar. This is the only way to get the kayak and dingy into the water. Ppty mang response to me. I Asked for partial refund "Hi,I just spoke with the owner and they are not going to give you a refund. We understand that the toilet was a major inconvenience, and we dealt with that as promptly as we could. For the wifi issues, I tried to reach out multiple times in order to see if it was working or not after giving you the new network info, and I never heard back from you. (not true)
As for the safety hazards that you mentioned, we feel that the property is accurately represented in the pictures and the description.
Best,
Jack"
