The South Street Beach House is available to quiet, mature, responsible and respectful families only. We do not rent to young adults looking to have a place to party. If you are a group of young adults looking to rent a party house, please do not send us an inquiry. Again, we rent our home to FAMILIES ONLY. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

The house is located at 111 South Street, South Haven, Michigan 49090. This location is on a peninsula of land with the Black River on the east side and Lake Michigan on the west side. The walk to the North Beach and Lake Michigan is 1.5 blocks and takes less than five minutes at a very casual stroll. The walk to the Black River and the South Haven Marina is less than one block and takes less than one minute.

The view of the Black River can be enjoyed from the spacious front deck which is elevated further enhancing the beautiful view.

The South Street Beach House accommodates families up to TWELVE (12) GUESTS (12+ with a maximum of 14, extra charge for more than 12 guests) in six (6) bedrooms and five (5) full bathrooms, 1st floor master suite. There are three (3) king bedrooms, (2) queen bed bedrooms and the sixth bedroom has two sets of twin bunk beds. Three (3) of the five (5) baths are ensuite and two are shared.

The house is well suited for multi generational families. Grandparents typically stay in the first floor master bedroom with a king bed and private bathroom.

Enjoy your breakfast, lunch and dinner on the spacious deck with a beautiful view of the Black River. The back deck is more private and has a natural gas Weber grille.

*** IMPORTANT - HOT TUB NOTE: The hot tub is an available option and the cost is an extra fee of $100.00 per day (that includes the hot tub cleaning fee). Let the owner know if you’re interested.

We love this home! This is our second time staying here, and it won't be the last. It's the perfect place to launch from to enjoy all things South Haven, while also being the perfect place to hang out! With three outdoor seating areas, you really can't lose. From the deck, where you can see the harbor, to the fire pit and grassy area for yard games, to the back patio and hot tub, we used and enjoyed them all! The inside is very comfortable and so well stocked. They really have thought of everything and are great communicators! Can't wait to go back!

Great home for a large family

Property manager was exceptional. The house was well stocked with all necessities, plus far beyond.There were chairs, a beach wagon, and umbrella’s for the beach. Smaller kitchen but large frig in lower level.I would recommend the house highly!
Stopped at sand dunes with our pontoon which the kids loved!

Family Vacation

This property provided all that is promised in the description and more. . . 3 levels of living space, front and back porch areas with tables and seating, beautiful landscaping and all the extras that make it a home. Everything from the reservation to the check in was flawless. We have been staying in the South Haven area for over 30 years and this vacation home was perfect. Our family had our best vacation together ever. Thank you!

Family Vacation

The property was as described, close to beach and within walking distance of downtown South Haven. There was plenty of space for our extended family of kids and grandkids. We ran into a little weather related water problem on the property which the owner promptly took care of. The owner and local contact were very easy to call and pleasant to talk to. Our family has been getting together in the South Haven area for a number of years and this has been the best house we have stayed at. We hope to return next summer.

2023 Family Vacation

My family of seven have been vacationing in South Haven for the last several years and decided we needed a larger home. Communication from start to finish was excellent which I appreciated. This is a home where the owner has worked hard to try and anticipate every possible need of the guests. Everything you need is there. The location is excellent and walking distance to beach and town. It's a very clean and tidy home. The kitchen is a little tight for a large family but workable. Perhaps consider adding an overflow refrigerator in the basement. Overall, it was a great experience and we appreciate your attention to the small details.

Perfect property, location, and service

This property turned out to be a precious gem of a find! Michael Biedermann personally ensured that we would feel comfortable at home and in the town of South Heaven that we would grow to love during our week-long vacation. The location is perfect, half way between the marina and the beach, literally a half block from each of these spots. The home itself is rather luxurious, with plenty of space and rooms, with more comfort than we had anticipated coming into. For 5 kids and 5 adults, this was more than enough. A couple of technical problem with one of the bathrooms were fixed quickly by a technician who came over to do so. We received excellent recommendations from Michael on a variety of things to do and places to eat, all of which were just about perfect, including the sunset, whose reputation was more than validated. If we are eager to go back to South Heaven, it is in large part because of this beautiful, cozy, and spacious house. It itself made half of our vacation!

Beautiful home and amazing location. Property owner was incredibly responsive. Our girls trip had to pivot at the last minute due to hurricane Ian, and South Haven was the perfect location. Incredibly grateful for our weekend and thinking of those who lost so much in Florida.

Perfect Fall Getaway in South Haven

What a perfect weekend at 111 South Street! We met our sister and brother-in-law in 'the middle' (Detroit and Chicago) and had such a great time. The house is large and well laid out - great large TV and plenty of seating for the Big Game! We enjoyed game nights and long conversations and snacks before walking to town for dinner. We have stayed in a lot of South Haven homes and love this one the most! We hope to make it an annual Fall trip with our in-laws and of course, will enjoy it in the summer, as well! Wonderful week at the beach

This house was the perfect location for a week away with my extended family. It was an easy walk to the beach and has nice views of the river/marina. The house was clean, spacious and well-appointed. The beds and bedrooms were all comfortable and clean, and the layout of the house allowed everyone to have personal space and privacy. The deck was a wonderful place to hang out and relax. The owner was incredibly helpful and responsive, making sure that all of our needs and questions were attended to. We would gladly come back again!

Best location in South Haven

The house is great for large groups since it has an array of bedrooms, bathrooms, second kitchen, and seating space. It's also awesome for outdoor time with the awesome shaded deck and the decent size front lawn for activities. Biggest point for us was the location. You are a 2 minute walk to the beach, steps from the marina, and a short walk to Captain Lou's.

Sweet October

Our October week in South Have was outstanding. The house was very nice, clean and well kept. The owner was available for the one issue we encountered and had the issue fixed very quickly. The house was perfect for our family and the other one we shared it with. 8 kids between us had plenty to do with the park just down the street and the many south haven offerings. We would definitely rent here again.

Why they chose this property

The location is truly ideal in it's proximity to the North Beach, the municipal marina and river walk along the Black River as well as downtown South Haven. Once you purchase your groceries, there is no need to get in your car again!

With six bedrooms and five full bathrooms on three levels the South Street Beach House is ideal for a multi generational family vacation!



What makes this property unique

* No smoking in the house of any type. We ask that smoking of cigarettes, cigars, pipes, etc. be conducted outside of each house.

* No Parties of any type.

* Any and all items lost, broken or damaged in any way will be replaced at the tenant’s expense. Costs will be taken from the security deposit to replace or repair damaged property.

* Please leave your pets at home.

* We have furnished the property with a dining room table and a deck table for eating and drinking. Please do not bring food or beverages into the family room or bedrooms.

* Please remember to keep your voices and music levels to a minimum. In most instances, our accommodations are directly adjacent to other residential properties. Please respect our neighbors by not using profanity or behaving in any way that could be considered offensive to others.

* Please do not bring towels or blankets from the house to the beach. We also ask that you do not hang towels, beach blankets, swimsuits, etc. over deck railings or furniture.

* If you need to wash your beach towels or bathing suits, please shake out the sand prior to putting them in the washer and/or dryer. Please wash all sand off outside the house in the exterior showers or garden hoses provided.

* When using the barbecue, please make sure it is far enough away from the house to prevent a fire, grease splattering and smoke getting in the house. Also, please remember to turn off the gas and clean and cover the grill after each use.

*The weekly garbage pick-up is early Monday morning. Please bring the garbage cans to the street on Sunday evening.
