Enjoy quality time spent with family & friends while staying in this luxurious log home in Cedar River Village, Shanty Creek Resort. This home has all the amenities you're used to and more plus it's nestled on a wood lot on the first hole of the golf course which makes this getaway a golfer's dream!

As you walk in the front door, you will notice the gorgeous view of the tree filled property, but be enveloped in the warmth of the home. The great room with its 2-story stone fireplace is where you can relax & enjoy conversation with others, or watch a movie on the 75" Smart TV. The main level of the home has an exquisite 1st floor Master Bedroom with attached Master Bath that includes a 2-sink vanity, shower, and a whirlpool tub. Both upstairs bedrooms have their own bathroom with tub and shower and the loft offers an added sleeping area.

The spacious kitchen makes fixing a family meal a breeze, and the dining room is perfect for meals, or playing cards or games with friends. The octagon breakfast room provides more seating for meals. The lower level Rec Room has a smart 75" TV and 2 EZ up Queen size inflatable beds. You'll find plenty of board games, puzzles and more here. An additional bathroom with shower serves this area and the three other sleeping areas located on this level.

The outdoors awaits you, so be sure to take time to relax on the wrap-around porch and deck overlooking the golf course, and the waterfall in the backyard. Enjoy the beauty of gorgeous northern Michigan summer days. In winter, the tubing hill is a short walk away, and you can purchase your lift tickets for Schuss Mountain at Cedar River Lodge. The chair lift is just outside the door of the lodge. Definitely a Winter-Summer Wonderland!

Magical Weekend

I surprised my partner with an up north weekend with us and 18 of our closest friends. The log home was absolutely stunning and in beautiful condition. The details in this home left us in awe. The host has nearly everything you could ever need up there which was a huge help. We can not wait to get up north again and when we do, we hope to have the opportunity to stay here again. Fantastic location for me and my extended family the location was great, the house was beautiful and Jeanine was a very helpful, responsive host. Great access to golf courses. Highly recommend!

Stunning. Super Clean. Attention to Details.

This is a stunning home that will actually add to your vacation experience. The “rules of the house” seem a bit much at first read but once you step inside then you understand why. This is a well cared for home, decorated with love and excellent taste. The owner has included many things that you normally need to bring which again makes it that much easier on arrival. We chose this home for a family vacation with children and grandchildren. Jeanine (owner) had instructions and suggestions ready on the counter. Texted her back and forth the night before our arrival and she was very sweet (with a good sense of humor). From morning coffee on the back porch to backyard bonfires in the evening, it was perfect. Many friends and coworkers were inquiring about the property just from the pictures we posted. We look forward to staying here again. Thank you Jeanine Sincerely, Denise-Savannah,GA

Great home for groups or families

Ski getaway

This property is amazing for a bigger group. Even if the snow didn't make for the best for skiing we had a lot of fun enjoying the home and each others company.

Torch Lake Getaway

Me and 14 of my closest friends spent the weekend there for a TC/Torch Lake day just to celebrate summer and we ended it with MY ENGAGEMENT party that we didn’t even know about! Matt and I got to celebrate with all our friends at the house and it was absolutely perfect! Maybe the houses first engagement celebration haha!! Stunning property, so very well maintained! Will definitely be returning one day, Jeanine was amazing and so receptive and had great communication throughout

Log Cabin Experience

We found the cabin to be spacious,comfortable with spectacular scenic views. Plenty of all age activities in the surrounding area such as golfing, swimming, dining and just relaxing around a fire.

Fantastic Mega House

We rented this house for a family reunion for 4 separate families. Beautiful house with lots of space. Enough rooms for a bathroom for each family, bedrooms for adults, and common areas in the basement with lots of inflatable beds and options for either kids or adults. Had a great time.

Family Reunion July 16-20, 2023

This Log Cabin style home had a very warm ‘home’ feeling and was very comfortable for all indoor and outdoor. It was very close to grocery stores, and outdoor activities in the area. Very short drives to Petoskey, and surrounding sites. Great location and the home had everything that could have been needed for any occasion.

Wonderful house for groups!

We loved the house, it was even better in person and we loved being able to walk to the ski hill and the access to the resort pools. Jeannine was so helpful when we had questions and we would definitely stay again!

Shanty Log Cabin

Beautiful house on #1 Tee of Cedar a river course. The house was perfect accommodations for a group of 8 guys and just what we needed (read as: no one had to share a bed or a room!). The grill was there for dinners. The fire pit was great for relaxing after golf. Didn’t speaks a ton of time inside, but for a ski trip this would have been an excellent home base too.

Family getaway with 4 generations

We rented the log home for Memorial weekend, 2022. 4 generations, ages 2-89. Pros: - The home is beautiful and had plenty of room for our family of 15 people. - It is very clean and well-stocked. - There is a large wrap around deck that we enjoyed with a pretty view! Cons: - After giving our credit card, we were notified that our original quote did not reflect the increase in price for the holiday weekend. We felt that this was very unusual and a poor way to do business. Yes we could have cancelled right then, but it was one of the few cabins available that worked for our family member who uses a walker. - We would never leave a rental in poor condition. However, we felt like there was an excessive amount of rules and it was stressful trying to remember everything in fear that we would be charged more if specific tasks weren’t completed. - The listing is not up to date and is a bit misleading. There is not a theater room and bedroom configurations are not accurate. The layout still worked for our family, but just be aware. - There is a set of wooden steps that go upstairs that are extremely slippery. Since no shoes are allowed in the house, there was a concern about someone slipping in their socks. We would suggest putting some non-skid tape on them. Overall, we had a great family weekend and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this house to others.

Annual Group Ski Weekend Success 2022

Log Cabin home was ideally located close to Schuss Purple Chairlift and basically next door to Cedar River. Tubing, skiing and local restaurants all in close proximity. We typically ski at Schuss every year and we appreciated the larger home to house our 3 family group under one roof. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to prepare a large family dinner or breakfast etc. Ample space for all adult couples to have their own room and bathroom plus our children. For reference we had 6 adults and 8 children. We had considered having one more family with us which would have topped us out at 19. I suppose that could have worked with air mattresses etc but we were will equipped for our group of 14. We all had a great time and weekend and will most definitely be back.

Perfect location and home for a group

The property was in the perfect location - right next to the Cedar River Lodge where you get your lift tickets and get on the lift. The home was also very clean! There is a strict no shoes rule... but it's nice as it keeps the home very comfortable and clean. The only slight disappointment was we felt slightly misled by the sleeping arrangement situation - the listing made it sound like the theater room and rec room on the lower level had pull out couches/sofa beds, but they were actually aero beds--very high quality, but still aerobeds. Just something to be aware of if you are coming with a large group of adults!
