Beautiful, fun & comfortable for all ages, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, Great Room
We first stayed at Almost Paradise as renters, in the summer of 1999. Our family had always held a family reunion at Tahoe, but that year decided on the beach. It was love at first sight! We spent a lovely week, our first visit to Dillon Beach, and by the end of the week, we had decided to buy. We were living in Santa Rosa at the time, and continued to rent it out as a vacation rental. However, after a year, we decided to make the Beach House our permanent home. We moved out to Dillon in August 2000, and began renovating and remodeling in 2001. We lived there full time until 2006, when life brought us to Orange County. We now enjoy sharing our home again and hosting families, couples and groups in what we consider to be the most beautiful place on earth! We know you will enjoy your visit.
Lori purchased this House in 1999
Why Lori chose Dillon Beach
Dillon Beach is a magical place. Many people have come here to heal from injury, bond with their families, and enjoy the beauty of Dillon Beach's landscape. There is indeed an energy that can be felt upon arrival, and when we visited this town for the first time years ago for a family reunion, we felt it, and decided to move here. Almost Paradise is a comfortable family home, decorated with our collections of antiques, art, quilts and books. Yet, we are perfectly set up for kids and teenagers, as well as a corporate retreat group. We encourage you to use our collection of dishes and glassware to enjoy a beautiful dining experience. Or, you can just as easily bring paper plates and still enjoy the beauty of the home.
What makes this House unique
Relaxing on top of a mountain overlooking the Bay and the ocean is an experience in and of itself. With an incredible beach just down the hill, leisurely walks in the neighborhood, and great hiking just a block away, this house serves the needs of all who enter. There is enough room in the house for everyone to have their own space, or gather all together in the Great Room area or the deck. We even have a crazy 'Dr. Suess' spiral stairway down to the lower level where there are 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom and a family room.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.

Great way to celebrate my birthday !!!
The views are spectacular. The house was very comfortable and accommodated the whole family. It is quite a challenging walk to the beach but well worth it. Had a fabulous time. Great neighbor came over and helped with the trash and recycle. Thanks so much.
I would have to agree with some of the other reviews. The views are fabulous and the living area works really well for a large group. The neighborhood is quiet and the little ones loved walking outside to see all the deer and cows.
Lori was a delight to work with - communication both by email and phone were immediate and very helpful. But the furniture, carpeting and beds are very worn, and one of the upstairs bedrooms is VERY small (we had to use the laundry room for our clothes). But overall, we had a great family celebration, and discovered an area we had never been to before, so thank you, Lori!
We're so glad you were able to have a nice family celebration in our home. I'm sorry some of your expectations were not met. We don't have much carpeting; the living room and master carpet is only 2 years old. While the Quilt room is the smallest in the house, there is a closet. No one has ever had a problem before with a place to put their clothes...that's a new one!
Glad that overall you h ad a nice time.
I've sent already an e-mail to Lori
Joseph was a guest from Holland, visiting for 10 days for his son's wedding. They had a great stay, loved the house and the beach, just didn't understand the review process! I did get a nice note from him.
Great house and location
We recently had 12 people here for the weekend. A beautiful location and the house was perfect - plenty of room for everyone for sleeping, eating, and games in the living room.
Breathtaking Views of Dillon Beach and Tomales Bay
I've never stayed in a home with such amazing views! When I arrived it was foggy, but when the fog cleared, it took my breath away. The house itself was large enough for my party. I loved the large living area where we could play games and hang out. The kids rode bikes and played football in the street as traffic in the area is minimal. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed. The deck was fabulous for enjoying our morning coffee and for grilling. The yard was also perfect for my dog and grand-dog to run around in. There is plenty of space for parking in the drive way and garage.
Lori was responsive and easy to work with.
There were a few minor things like short beds that may bother others, but there are pull out sofas or you could bring an air mattress for your tall people as alternate options.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
So glad you thoroughly enjoyed your stay, and were able to take advantage of all our property and home offers.. Not too sure what you mean about short beds, all of our beds are normal sizes, we have 2 Queens, 2 Doubles and 2 Twins, in addition to the double sofa sleeper. Maybe if you're quite tall and used to a Cal King?
Would love to have you visit again!
Dillon Beach is a beautiful Dog Friendly Beach, and no leashes are needed at water's edge. There is a daily fee for beach access. You can have fires on the beach which is not allowed elsewhere. There are great rocks to climb at the shoreline, and tide pools to explore as well. We provide a free beach pass for our renter's use. Have fun exploring the bay with a visit to Lawson's Landing. There is an entrance fee. Fish or crab from the pier, or dig for clams.
World famous wineries are not far, just over 30 minutes will take you into Sebastopol and loads of small, fun wineries along the Gravenstien Highway. Bodega Bay is a beautiful drive along the Bodega Highway, where you can explore the marina, or golf at a world famous championship course.
Investigate the charming town of Petaluma, where you can go antiquing, shop at interesting shops, and find a great place to dine. A fun drive is along the Tomales Bay Road, down to the quaint town of Pt Reyes Station. Not far from there is the lighthouse, and places where you can pull over to the side of the road to see the Sea Lions bathing on the rocks.
The small town of Tomales has a great restaurant, The William Tell, and without a doubt the world's best bakery. Buy local cheeses at Diekman's Store. There are two old churches in town, the Catholic Church overlooks Highway 1, and the Presbyterian is just up the road.
