Why Teri Baer chose Eastern Shore

For years we crossed the Choptank River bridge and drove through Cambridge on our way to vacations in Ocean City and were intrigued by its quaintness. We spent a few long weekends exploring the area, decided to purchase a home, and found our property on Jenkins Creek. We've decided to share our home as a vacation property. We hope you enjoy our home and the Cambridge area as much as we do!

What makes this house unique

Our home is located at the end of Jenkins Creek Road overlooking the water and only several minutes from downtown Cambridge with its unique shops and restaurants. Minimal local traffic make walking, jogging, and bike riding safe and pleasurable. The school and city park at the town end of Jenkins Creek Road (1 1/4 miles away) have tennis and basketball courts, a baseball diamond, play areas for kids, and views of the Choptank river. Great Marsh Park, with its public boat launch, fishing docks, and picnic areas is only about 2 miles away. Also, because of our location, you can explore the Cambridge area without the hassle of the beach traffic on Route 50.

relaxing, peaceful and fun

  • 5 of 5

This is our third year to vacation at this property. The Baers are wonderful . The washer went up on our second day and they replaced it immediately! There is room to be alone if you need it or plenty of space for family fun. Every year we bring bikes. I love riding into town, almost daily and visiting the library and the few, but nice local businesses. Bike riding around the nearby neighborhoods are safe and beautiful. Blackwater wildlife refuge is only 20 min. away as is the new Harriet Tubman Museum. If you like antiques, there are many to visit within 30 minutes going in either direction on Rt. 50.. The kitchen is large and spacious and well stocked with every convenience. The property is at the end of road so that gives you more seclusion. The osprey nest in several places across the river and they have been a joy to watch. Paddling on the river is just wonderful. My favorite thing is to sit on the dock at night. My husband's favorite thing is to fish and be still. The other favorite thing is having our adult children drop in for a few days at a time and enjoying pool time. I cannot say enough about how clean, neat, pretty and quite this place is. Yet accessible to enough interesting areas for an occasional day out.

Great stay, fantastic hosts

  • 5 of 5

We've rented all over the world via VRBO/HomeAway and Baer Necessities really stands out in so many ways. It was a real pleasure communicating with Teri who was so responsive, kind and accommodating. We had to make a date change, no problem. We needed to pay from the UK, no problem. Teri kept in touch all the way along which was much appreciated. We arrived at the house and were really delighted - it's big, very very well equipped and really welcoming. There were even chocolates on the table and a welcome note from the housekeeper. The kitchen is superbly equipped and again it's the attention to detail that really marks Teri and her property out from the crowd - great knives to cook with all brilliantly sharp. Huge range of pans, crockery, glassware, paper products - just everything you need. The beds are really new and very comfy with high thread count linens, new silent fans in every room. The Air Con is superb and very appreciated on the days when it reached 98F. Really fast wifi, great cable HD package. But step out of the house and that's where we spent most of our time, around the gorgeous pool with creek views. Just a lovely space to relax and any ideas of driving out to the beaches soon evaporated as we enjoyed the sun from the brand new terrace and pool. The hot tub was also a really welcome addition on the days when the storms rolled in as was the screen porch - a great place to hang out, read and watch the thunderstorms.

Thank you Teri and Lauren, we had a great stay in your lovely property and thanks for taking care of us so well.

Wonderful, peaceful getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This home was absolutely immaculate and so comfortable to stay in. It had every amenity we would want. We took full advantage of the swimming pool, hot tub and dock. The house was extremely clean. The screened-in porch was wonderful, and the views could not be beat. We highly recommend visiting Emily's Produce and Old Salty's restaurant. Baer Necessities is great for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

Slice of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

If you want to experience a slice of heaven, then Baer Necessities is the place for you. We were blown away by the cleanliness and tranquility. The house is updated, clean and peaceful. The pool and boat dock provided fun for family and friends while at Eagleman. We highly recommend this great location for anyone visiting Cambridge. The lot is large and at the end of the street which provides plenty of quiet family time while still having proximity to town. We played games, watched the ducks and fish feeding, relaxed by the pool, dozed on the porch to the sound of wind chimes, played games, and watched lightning bugs and rabbits. Also, Teri's hospitality was second to none. Thanks Teri for sharing your oasis.

Another wonderful vacation at Baer Necessities!

  • 5 of 5

We are repeat visitors at this wonderful property! We just wrapped up a long Memorial Day weekend at Baer Necessities and as usual, the stay was the highlight of our year! By far, our whole family (including kids aged 21, 19, 15, and 13) considers staying at Baer Necessities as our favorite vacation of the year. We were surprised with an updated back yard area including a new pool and surrounding patio. What a great change! It made an already beautiful backyard and view even better. Teri is such a great owner. She is always very responsive and makes sure that everything is just right before our arrival and during our stay. The house is perfectly appointed, clean and comfortable. We fished off of the pier; played cornhole and ping pong (both provided); rode bikes (provided) and canoed in the river (canoes also provided). The kitchen is a great place for cooking meals if you don't want to go into town. But if do want to venture into town, the house is very close to everything yet far enough away to feel like you are away from it all. We will definitely be back!
