Why Teri Baer chose Algonquin
For years we crossed the Choptank River bridge and drove through Cambridge on our way to vacations in Ocean City and were intrigued by its quaintness. We spent a few long weekends exploring the area, decided to purchase a home, and found our property on Jenkins Creek. We've decided to share our home as a vacation property. We hope you enjoy our home and the Cambridge area as much as we do!
What makes this House unique
Our home is located at the end of Jenkins Creek Road overlooking the water and only several minutes from downtown Cambridge with its unique shops and restaurants. Minimal local traffic make walking, jogging, and bike riding safe and pleasurable. The school and city park at the town end of Jenkins Creek Road (1 1/4 miles away) have tennis and basketball courts, a baseball diamond, play areas for kids, and views of the Choptank river. Great Marsh Park, with its public boat launch, fishing docks, and picnic areas is only about 2 miles away. Also, because of our location, you can explore the Cambridge area without the hassle of the beach traffic on Route 50.

A very special place to retreat to
We had 2 grandsons in tow and everyone really enjoyed the stay. The location is great, with water on 2 sides and a view across the creek, a couple hundred feet wide. You can sit and contemplate nature, catch up on reading, or be active; canoeing, bicycling, ping pong, foosball (and all that is off-season, without the pool and hot tub). And the area has lots of attractions, starting with Cambridge (within easy bicycling distance).
The house is very comfortable: 3 bedrooms, large living room, dining room, kitchen, game room, 2 bathrooms, wash room, screened porch, patio between house and pool, plus many nice touches, like several TVs and attractively planted gardens.
We'd love to come back before long and relax in this beautiful place.
I have stayed at several VRBO houses over the years and this one is by far my new favorite. The location is quiet and private. The waterviews are beautiful from all points of the property. This home is so well equiped, that you won't need to bring much. The extras the owner include (dishsoap, paper products, hand soap, all linens and so so many more) make this an easy place to get away to. Teri is very accommodating and helpful with suggestions of things to do. The hottub was wonderful and sits in a private location near the pool with beautiful views of the water. We were there during the winter for a "ladies weekend" and Teri was more than happy to have the hottub ready to go at our request. I will rent this home again!!!! Can't wait to go back and watch the birds!
Wonderful NYE Getaway
My family had a wonderful time spending NYE weekend at Baer Necessities. Teri was incredibly easy to deal with and very responsive in coordinating everything ahead of time. The house was spacious and had so many nice amenities to utilize. The property is beautiful and the water views were great, even if it was single digit temperatures! The house is close to downtown and made for easy trips to restaurants and the local brewery. We can only imagine how great it would be in the summer! We definitely will be coming back!
Beautifully decorated, river views
This is a lovely home. Fully equipped kitchen with plenty of seating for a group. Beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the river. The lot is spacious and private.
Beautiful, large house, welcoming and spotless!
Beautiful home with pool right on a peaceful creek. We stayed during the Ironman competition and this spot was a quick 2 minute drive to the race course. The home is warmly decorated with comfortable furniture and a great kitchen with everything you need to cook! The owners were not there but checked in everyday to make sure we had everything we needed. Garden in the back with ripe tomatoes. And the house is very, very clean!! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We loved it and hope to visit again!
