The entire 2 bedroom 2 bath condo has been completely remodeled (5/14) and is literally only steps to the warm Pacific Ocean! Golden sunrises, warm trade winds and shimmering waters next to a mile long sandy beach. Those are just a few of the things that come with this beautiful and unique condo!

Every detail in this wonderfully furnished and decorated Retreat was carefully tended to. Here are just some of it’s new features;

Greg and Aleta live in South dakota. We love our Kauai get away, as the winters are very long and cold here. We went to Kauai the first time in 2011. We loved it right away. We love outside activities.

Why Kapaa Town? The first time we went to Kauai, we stayed in Kapaa. It was perfect. It is centrally located, so you can head any direction, and get there quickly. It has wonderful restaurants, and it is perfectly quaint.

What makes this condo unique

Pono Kai has so much to offer. With a pool, tennis courts, boche, putting greens. We love the walking trail right out our back door. And don't forget about the beach and ocean that you can hear and see from the lanai. It doesn't get any better than that.

Beautiful updates and convenient location

We have no complaints about the actual condo. We thought it had a washer/dryer due to the way the listing read, but once we arrived we contacted the manger and learned it didn't. (They did say they were changing the way it read on the listing.) However there was a coin operated laundry very near the condo. We were missing a couple of things in the condo but the manager was very quick to respond and brought them over. The condo is comfortable and has everything you would need to feel at home. The master bedroom is large and bath was especially nice. The proximity to the beach and view from the condo was awesome (although the hedges are slightly annoying, but block off the walking/biking sidewalk). You do have to walk a short distance (maybe 200') to a swimming beach. My only complaint would be the noise from the condo above and it was hot (no A/C). But we knew there was no A/C and they did provide multiple fans in addition the the ceiling fans. And if you're in the condo, leaving the sliding door open provides a great breeze. (But it was VERY windy the whole time we were here...11 days!) All in all, the proximity of the condo going north or south is great and there are lots of restaurants and shops very nearby. We absolutely love Kauai and loved the condo!

Beautiful condo!

Beautiful condo at a great location! The condo had everything we needed. It was well equipped with all the necessities for the beach. Loved having the beach chairs & beach towels so handy. Easy drive to the north or south shore. Walking distance to shops and restaurants in Kapaa and across the street from a great bike rental shop and Ono Ono shave ice. Opening up the sliding doors, we had a perfect view of the ocean and sunrise every morning. We enjoyed our stay so much and plan to go back.

Great Location

My family of four stayed here in early July.

PROS: ocean front, beach right outside the door, unit recently remodeled, good communication with owner and property manager, beach chairs, cooler, beach towels, three TVs--2 very large (although we didn't even turn them on).

CONS: older building, smells like an older building, not an attractive place, plain landscaping, smoking area on beach is directly in front of this condo (this would be a PRO if you're a smoker, I guess; I did not enjoy), beach is trashy with lots of small pieces of trash and tree debris, no a/c, pool is nothing special, tons of chickens

Re: the lack of a/c--keep in mind we stayed here in July; it was incredibly hot! I knew there was no a/c but I believed the reviews that the breeze from the ocean would be good enough. Probably in other months, but not July. The unit did have ceiling fans, and 4 portable fans but only two worked. I did let the property manager know that two fans didn't work but no offer to replace them. So, if your stay is not during the summer, I doubt the lack a/c would be an issue.

This was an excellent place to stay and we would gladly stay again.

This was a great place for my family and I to stay. It was located in a great area with excellent walkable food. We also rented bikes and could ride for miles right in front. You are located steps from the beach where we saw turtles, fish and seals. Would reccommend this property to other and would for sure stay here again.

Kapaa is a wonderful little town with all the amenities you will need. It is perfectly located on the east side of the island. Easy to go to the north or south shores. Or stay on the coconut coast.

Cleaning Fee $150

For bookings 21 nights and over, we require a mid-stay clean of $100.

Guest shall inform Agent in writing of Guest's intention to cancel the reservation. The cancellation policy is as follows:

If Cancellation notice is received ninety or more days (90+) prior to the check-in date, a cancellation fee equal to 10% of the reservation total will be forfeited and the balance will be refunded within 7 days from receipt of written cancellation.

If cancellation notice is received less than ninety days (0-89) prior to the check-in date, the full booking amount of rent and taxes will be forfeited. Any security deposit and any pre-collected cleaning fees will be refunded within 7 days from receipt of written cancellation. As courtesy to our Guest, if Agent is able to rebook any portion of the canceled reservation, Guest will be refunded to the extent that agent is able to re-book the property.

Owner/Agent cancellation policy: In the unlikely event that the property becomes unavailable for any part of the tenancy for reasons beyond the control of the Agent, Owner and/or Agent may cancel this agreement and owner and agent's liability shall be limited to providing comparable accommodations or providing a refund for the portion of the rental term made unavailable.

A downpayment of 30% of rental amount is due immediately. 70% is required 90 days prior to arrival.
