Note that our Building F, where our unit is located, has no elevator. So our ground-floor unit outshines the second-floor units, where we’ve seen guests struggle to get suitcases, strollers and mobility-challenged elders up the stairs.

Maui Banyan is a short walk from the Kihei boat ramp, multi-million-dollar mansions in Wailea and a beachfront walking path that extends several miles in each direction.

There is a $10/night per person extra charge for more than 6 guests; three-generation families tell us the condo worked very well for them.

Amazing Location!

Our family and friends had an amazing time. The place may be a little dated but it did not matter to us. The location is prime, the grounds were beautiful and very peaceful. Communication with the owner was great. It was the perfect place for us and we would definitely stay again.

Perfect location, everything that is needed is there although beach chairs and umbrella has seen better days and instead of the 6 beach towels there was only 4.We stayed over Christmas and would have thought there might be a small Christmas tree in a closet but there wasn’t.Could use some updates, I wouldn’t have been surprised to see Mrs. Roper walk out of the room.In general we would definitely stay again but only for the location.

Ocean view and walking distance to everything

Loved the location and proximity to the beach and shopping areas. The BBQ and lawn area in the front was great to sit to eat and drink with friends and family. Master bedroom bed cover had a major stain that was a little off putting. The extra bedroom bath had some mold that should be scrubbed and cleaned. The internet and TV were not working for us, so we called the management company and they came out to fix it. We didn't spend much time at the property so it wasn't a big deal. Overall the property worked for my family. The linens could use an update or at least in the case of the master bed a thorough cleaning. The rooms were clean and had beach gear that was available for use if needed. All the appliances worked so we were pleased with the property. Parking was very close and made moving luggage or groceries very convenient. I would stay here again.

Good location, but dated

Overall, we had a good stay…. Upon arrival, the unit was not clean. After putting in a request, the property manager sent a team to clean/change linens the next day. The unit is dated. There is rust and other signs of wear on items such as the shower door/slider doors. The kitchen had minimal items- also dated appliances. I assume there is a mouse in the kitchen, as fruit left on the counter to ripen had pieces chewed a couple mornings in a row. The master room stays warmer than the rest of the unit. When sleeping, it’s best to keep the slider doors open and AC on. The location was very nice (quick walk to the beach), but the outdoor patio doesn’t look out to the garden, but the driveway into the property, (the garden is out the front doors). Overall, we had a nice time…, but will look to stay somewhere else next trip.

Bugs, Scorpions, overflowing toilet and more!

The day we arrived there were already ants in our bathroom and other common areas. Amongst other critters like beetles and moths. Which to be fair can happen in a tropical climate. The same day we also learned if you don’t push the toilet handle back up it overflows and can flood. All of this was communicated to the owner and we were told to contact the condo emergency line. So we did. The communication was horrible we never knew If someone came or If we were serviced. To make matters worst the next day we found a scorpion and we called the emergency line to no avail. They told us they would come. The person who sprayed literally did a squirt in ONEarea of the condo. Marcia was not helpful she blamed us for majority of it and the condo management lacked communication. Great location, sure! But, horrible otherwise. Roach traps everywhere.

Perfect for our needs

The condo was dated, but clean and the grounds had a lot of amenities on site. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub and BBQ grills. It was centrally located in Kihei with a lot of shopping and restaurants an beaches near by. I wish the sliding glass doors to the master bedroom provided more privacy, but overall, we would stay here again.

Great location

Close proximity to beaches, great location in Kihei with short walks to restaurants and shops. Quick and friendly service with maintenance issue! Wish there were cameras in parking garage as our rental was damaged by someone with no recourse. Otherwise loved that there was a washer and dryer in the unit, and plenty of beach accessories!

Affordable and Great Location

We enjoyed our stay. 1) Loved the extra boogie boards 2)Loved the huge bathtub 3) Loved the washer and dryer! A big plus!👍👍👍 4) Loved the king size bed! So comfortable! If you get here and it is very hot 🥵, don’t worry it gets more comfortable. Turn on the AC. The location of the unit is another huge plus. Right next to the parking lot. We were able to park near the unit. Great location! We loved swimming and snorkeling at Ulua 🏖 Beach! Beautiful sunset steps away from the condo.

Ok for last minute

The property did not look very clean and there were ants everywhere including in the bed. It really needs a refresh of furniture and there were no sharp knives. This property was a disappointment compared to Aston Maui Hill where I stayed at in February of this year. It is located along the driveway so everyone can look in the bedrooms and while you're dining on the lanai.

Great location but needs a face lift

Great location( across street from great family friendly beach), easy check in, chill area. You can tell the place isn't occupied by the owner much because it does needs a face lift. The towels, there were not many and they were tattered, rough and had bleach stains on some of them. Basically they have been used, a lot. The sheets were the same way. Curtains looked like past guests have used them as napkins. Pool is nice and this place as a great hot tub, which is hard to find in Hawaii due to electricity rates. Good places to eat within walking distance. Some cooking supplies, a wide range of coffee mugs, but not many drinking glasses or silverware. If you plan to eat in to save money, you will be running the dishwasher a lot. Also, be careful with food, we kept all of ours in the fridge due to ants, although there were ant traps throughout the condo they are pretty smart and just went around them. Especially around the bathroom sink, not cool near our toothbrushes. The shower head needs to be replaced as well, but good working water heater. Nice having a washer and dryer too. Due to the location of the unit, it's near a high traffic walkway and public shower, lots of looky Lous. In the condo, the master bedroom only has a see through pocket glass door, so not much privacy that way either. Just keep that in mind incase mommy and daddy want private time 😉

Premium location but Not a premium property

Location: Banyan Maui property is beautiful - well cared for gardens, pools. Unit F106 is well located in complex on ground floor in building nearest Kam II beach. Security: Patio doors Master BR did not lock, no safe to secure valuables. Overall condition of unit: poor - all fixtures, furnishings, appliances need replacing, renovating, updating - very shabby and worn. Walls etc need cleaning, painting. Draperies, lampshades need cleaning. Drawers, closet doors, shower doors did not work well and need repair. This unit is not worth the rate demanded. Insects: big ant problem - needed to purchase multiple ant traps to keep them at bay. In all the VRBO condos we have stayed in Hawaii we have never had this problem. Linens: Kitchen linens non-existant, bathroom linens old, worn, threadbare and stained. Access to Master BR is through the living room via double CLEAR glass sliding doors - No privacy!!

Great stay in Kihei!

We really enjoyed our stay here at this property. We were comfortable. It was plenty of room for our family of 5 to spread out and relax. It does need more couch seating. The couch only fits 3 people and we have 5. Some of us were always looking for a place to sit. It also needs to be updated. It is straight from the early 90's? That doesn't really bother me though because it met all of our needs. Unfortunately almost all of the ocean supplies were broken. All of the snorkel equipment, beach umbrella, and boogie board were broken. They are a nice added bonus to this rental. We did have trouble accessing the unit, but that was resolved and the owner was very on top of getting that issue resolved, which we appreciated. Overall it was a great time in Maui for us. We would definitely stay at this condo again. It is right across the street from the beach.

Great Location, dated condo

Over all it was a great stay. Cons: The suit is old with old furniture, the bathrooms are old, floors weren’t the cleanest. The kitchen was poorly stocked with mostly old kitchenware, couldn’t even find oven mitts, the area carpets are old and grimy. The outdoor furniture wasn’t clean when we got there. The old oven stopped working, the range hood was loud, not in working order. The bedding was older, cheaper pillows. We never got notified when the code to the pool changed. Pros: Great location, across the street from the beach! Walking distance to shops and restaurants. The suit has lots of space, don’t feel cramped at all. The second bedroom and bathroom is like it’s own suite, lots of privacy. Location of suit is great! Close parking. When we had issues with the satellite Tv, they came the next day to fix it. No wifi issues. Plenty of towels to use. Check-in and communication with everyone was great! The pools and hot tub were lots of fun! Lots of BBQs to use! Very beautiful greenery and trees! All in all, we had a great stay. For the price it’s a good place. If you want modern this isn’t the place for you but if you want lots of room, and a great location, this is a great place.

Great location and owner very pleasant

We just finished a 1 week stay. The location was great. Beach across the street. Owner was quick to respond to any questions. Grills were outside our room and maintained by property, very clean. We used pool near our room only 1 day since beach was so close. I look forward to coming again in the future.

Great location!

This was perfect for my family and I. While the space is a little dated, it is clean and comfortable and exactly what we needed to relax and enjoy our time in Maui! The beach gear and nearby location of the beach and the condo pool was fantastic. Just outside the door was a grassy area that was perfect to relax. The grill was new and we used it a couple of times. Marcia was very responsive and we really appreciated everything she did to make our stay enjoyable!

We loved it

The property is perfectly located both within the complex and within Kihei. Easy access to the pool, the beach, the trash (important) and activities on Maui. We easily slept 6 adults and two teens! We loved the little “backyard” area and used it often to BBQ and eat outside! The house itself isn’t fancy, but it’s functional and comfortable. Definitely recommend it for larger groups for sure! Complex has a jacuzzi and unit has two window a/c units. Would never do Maui without! We also loved having an in unit washer and dryer as we brought less with us!

Excellent location and great option for families

We stayed in the condo with 4 adults and 4 children, and it worked great. The kitchen was well equipped (so we didn't have to eat out every meal), there were sand toys, beach towels, and beach chairs. The in-unit laundry made it so that we could pack lighter as well. The location was FANTASTIC- across the street from a great beach with good snorkeling, and close to a lot of shops and restaurants. The owner was great to work with, and quick to answer any questions I had leading up to the trip. We would definitely stay here again!

We live on a lake in Massachusetts, where we swim every day we can, and were looking for a spot where we could swim other months of the year. Hawaii was the 50th state we visited and Maui turned out to be perfect for us. Our Maui Banyan location is across the street from the best swimming beach in Kihei - no rocks, expansive, manned by lifeguards 7 days a week.

If you love to swim, bodysurf, snorkel or make sand castles, this is the beach for you. We love the fact that our unit is just a two-minute walk to the ocean, close enough to hear the waves when we are in bed, and yet far enough back from the road that traffic noise is not a major annoyance.

Why they chose this property

Maui is an island with many microclimates, and our location gets much less rain and less wind than spots even a mile or two away.

We were lucky to discover the Maui Banyan on our first trip to Hawaii, and while we looked at many other condo complexes, we didn't see any others with its convenient unit layout, quiet tropical setting and unsurpassed beach access.

Some more high-end complexes require you to navigate a steep hill to get to and from the beach or offer distant ocean views but no walkable beach access at all.

Also convenient are all the shops and restaurants within an easy walk that remain open till 8 p.m. or later.

Within the Maui Banyan complex, our location on the ground floor of Building F is perfect for visitors without the energy or ability to climb a lot of stairs, who want to be far enough away from the road to enjoy a good night's sleep yet close enough to get to the beach in no time.

Whereas some Maui Banyan units get miserably hot because of their placement relative to the sun, ours faces north, so that the lanais stay cool all day, every day.

What makes this property unique

Be sure to bring binoculars! During the winter months, you can see whales with the naked eye at the beach across the street; the binoculars show you the whales' antics more clearly.

And you'll be entranced by the breathtaking sunsets at our beach. Almost every night, the sun turns the sky orange, yellow and pink in a dazzling display of nature's beauty.

We have even swum with giant gentle sea turtles here. And it's a joy to observe families bonding over the construction of architecturally complex sand castles.
