Captains Quarters on the Water: Incredible Views and Fantastic Location!

Pet friendly, Shelter Cove Harbor villa at Captains Quarters. One of the closest villas to the water. Incredible view of the Broad Creek and entrance to the Shelter Cove Harbor. Views are great from the inside through floor to ceiling windows or sliding glass doors that lead out to two balconies. One balcony from the Master Bedroom and the other from the Living/Dining area. It is rare to have such an incredible view from a first floor villa. Being on the first floor this close to the water feels like being on a houseboat without the sea sickness. Watch the sea life from the villa, like dolphins, sea otters, sea gulls, egrets and pelicans just to name a few. Or watch people entering or exiting the harbor on water craft ranging from sea kayaks to luxury yachts. Shelter Cove is a Mediterranean-style village on the harbor with a great variety of restaurants and shops all within walking distance. Shelter Cove is also a part of Palmetto Dunes with full access all of it's amenities and beaches.


Location, Location, Location: Shelter Cove is located in the Palmetto Dunes Resort. Palmetto Dunes Resort is rated one of the top family vacation destinations in the US. The resort has three miles of beautiful wide sandy beaches, world class golf courses and tennis courts and miles of shady bike paths under Spanish moss draped century old oak trees. Shelter Cove is a small Mediterranean style village with numerous restaurants and shops. Enjoy Mexican food and drink one night, then French the next or Italian or fresh local seafood. All have indoor and outdoor dining and many offer live music. All within walking distance along the beautiful harbor. Shelter Cove also has on site harbor master to assist booking boating or fishing trips and on site adventure company for kayaking and eco trips.

View, View, View: Wow. As soon as you open the front door, you are drawn to the view thru two large sets of floor to ceiling windows in the living room. The beautiful blue water seems to flow right up to the windows. At first you may not notice the fully renovated villa with the fully equipped kitchen to your left or the large master bedroom with king bed to the right. You are just drawn to the water. You then notice the dining area to the left of the living room with sliding glass doors out to the covered balcony even closer to the water. Slide open the door, walk to the railing and just soak it all in. Take your time, have a seat, unpacking can wait. It is truly amazing. You will never be this close to the water in a villa on the beach. The beaches are great and you can spend as much time there as you like, but the view here along with the peacefulness of the calm water and quite surroundings is truly special.

Panoramic Views

We had a lovely stay here at Captains Quarters. Beautiful views of the inlet and marsh watching the boats and kayak’s coming by. A short walk to restaurants and shops with views of the marina. We really enjoyed our stay.

Thanks for a great stay

Spacious condo with great views. We enjoyed our sightings of Blue Herons, Night Herons, Rosate Spoonbills, Egrets and more. Close to restaurants and recreation. We’ll stocked kitchen. We had a great time.

Beautiful Space

Nothing was spared in making this welcoming space a favored property on Hilton Head Island. This clean, well furnished and light filled space is perfect for those looking to have walkable access to shops and restaurants, and easy access to all that Hilton Head has to offer. I am very grateful to have found this beautiful pet friendly property.

Phenomenal View

Our family enjoyed our second stay at this property. The updates to the kitchen and laundry made a big difference to the use of the space. We loved easily walking to the harbor from the property and you can’t beat the view. Watching the boats and kayaks out on the porch is a relaxing way to spend the time and it’s an easy drive to the beach. The condo is well-equipped. All in all, we would recommend this property for a quiet and relaxing stay.

This was a beautiful, well maintained condo with tall glass windows facing the water. It was clean,quiet, and we really enjoyed watching boats and canoes pass by. I think this is one of the finest properties we have ever rented! I would give it higher than 5 stars if I could!

Beautiful views

The condo couldn't be nicer. The view when you walk in is like being on a cruise ship. Everything is as described. Shelter Cove is a lovely area for walking and restaurants. Also, the beach is about an easy one mile walk or you can ride a bike or call the Dune Buggy. We loved watching the boats coming and going from the marina. The master bathroom is very convenient with double sinks and a dressing area. All in all, the unit was clean, comfortable, and we can't wait to go back.

This was our first experience renting on the intercostal and WOW! What. An. Experience. It will be hard to want to stay oceanfront after this experience. We saw dolphins right off our balcony yards from us every day. We also saw turtles, crab, stingray and even a manatee. Every Tuesday you can view spectacular fireworks right from the balcony. Shopping, restaurants and activities all within walking distance. We walked next door to rent kayaks and paddle boards! Shuttle bus takes you and all your junk to the beach and picks you up. Condo itself was awesome also. Definitely would stay again!

BEST VIEWS ON THE ISLAND

We have stayed several times at this location. The condo is neat, comfortable, and close to lots of activities. We see dolphins, boats, fireworks, and the best sunsets from the patio. Lots of room. Large family room, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms. We have stayed a lot of places on the island and by far this is our favorite. The pool is right next to the condo with lots of room. It has a nice hot tub with a view of the water and sunsets. We fish right behind the condo and catch all kinds of fish, as well as crab. Great to wake up to the view of the paddle boarders, kayaks, boats, and dolphins. You are missing out if your not staying here. The Goss's have been very friendly and accommodating. Amazing location, perfect in every way!

We stayed at this condo from July 26 to August 2nd and enjoyed every minute of it. This condo is in the perfect location for everything. With only minutes to the beach, the dunes buggy will pick you up within minutes. This two bedroom 2 bathroom condo was spacious and clean and on the first floor. Very tastefully decorated with all you would need to enjoy what Hilton Head has to offer. We watched dolphins enter and exit the cove on a daily basis. There were plenty of fish and other wildlife to view. You can enjoy a coffee or a beverage on the patio and watch the boats come and go. This is the perfect location for the Tuesday night firework show and what a show it was. Shelter Cove is amazing. Just across from the Disney Resort (also stayed there), Shelter Cove has it all. From party boat fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding to first class dining. I would totally recommend this property to anyone. The communication from the owner was speedy and right to the point. Will we come back??? ABSOLUTELY!!!! Thank you Keith and family. We had an amazing family vacation.

Great location

The location was fabulous. the unit faces the bay and marshes and is adjacent to a marina. We watched manatees, dolphins and alligators from the terrace. Yachts, tour boats, kayakers sailed in and out of the marina all day. It was lovely. Also, Shelter Cove is conveniently located in the middle of the island and very convenient to great restaurants, shops, beaches and activities. Unfortunately the unit did not meet my expectations. On the first night there we were locked out of the complex because we had been given the wrong gate code. After driving around for 45 minutes at 1:00 in the morning we flagged down a security officer who found the correct code and helped us access the property. Also, the unit was spacious and could have been very comfortable. Unfortunately it was not clean and smelled of mildew or something else. One of the pillows in the main bedroom had a stain on it. There were stains in the main bathroom shower. The table on the terrace was dirty when we arrived and there were other remnants of previous residents on the terrace. I will say that the owners were very responsive after I contacted them and asked them to send someone over to clean. My guess is that they are unaware of the job the cleaning staff is doing. With proper attention and professional cleaning this could be a really great place to vacation.

You can't beat the location of this property. The views are incredible. And to be close to the restaurants and shops is a bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

Best Views

The property overall is in very good shape. Kitchen and extra bath could use a update but not horrible or in bad shape. The number one thing about this condo is the location. We spent hours a day on the patios watching the dolphins, manatees, and birds. Not to mention all of the boats and kayakers out in the creek. You cannot go wrong renting this location

Beautiful view and great location

The view from this property was amazing, and the location was so convenient. The villa itself has a great layout and perfect amount of space for our group of 3, however, with the use of the pullout couch, a group of 6 could easily stay in the unit. Linda was very responsive when we had a couple of minor hiccups (due to our error - not hers!). Everything was clean and in good working order. We would stay there again without question.
