Overview

About the property

6 Bedrooms, 4.5 Baths, (Sleeps 12)

Located on a private gravel road, this Lake Michigan beach property is the perfect place for a family-and-friends getaway. The midcentury home has a wonderful, open feeling with a bay window to enjoy a sunrise and lake views of every season. The large dining room table is a great place to gather for meals and games. The master bedroom (with a Sleep Number king-sized bed and full bath en suite) is situated on the first floor. Guests on the upper level have their choice of two bedrooms with two twin beds and one bedroom with a queen size bed. All three bedrooms have easy access to a new adjacent second floor full bath.

Spend a spring or summer evening on the front lawn at the firepit taking in an occasional rainbow or toasting marshmallows while doing a little stargazing. A seven-circuit labyrinth is nestled in the backyard for a sense of tranquility for all. During the winter months the forever changing lake creates ice sculptures along the shore, which is a beautiful site for the young and old at heart. Experience the variety and splendor that each season has to offer.

The two-bedroom Keeper's Cottage is located just west of the main house above the nicely finished garage/recreation and laundry space. Roomy and cheerful, the second story Keeper’s Cottage offers views of the lake on one side and woods on the other. An attached second story screened in porch is a great place to enjoy a beverage and watch the wildlife. Bikes and helmets for all ages are available for use. Enjoy a good game of ping-pong with family and friends in the lower level recreation space.

Take a bike ride on the nearby Ozaukee Interurban Trail, golf at Whistling Straits, Black Wolf Run, The Bog, or other golf courses in the area, visit Kohler Art Center or Above & Beyond Children's Museum in Sheboygan, or simply enjoy the spectacular sunrises. Located only a mile away, you can also visit Harrington Beach State Park. There you can fish the beautiful quarry, hike or bike the trails, and cross-county ski the paths and expansive open areas. Interested in snowmobiling? You can also do that at the Kettle Moraine State Forest, which is an easy drive from the property. This and much more awaits you at this serene beachside home.

Terrific Lake Michigan house

  • 5 of 5

This lake house was the perfect home base for our group of 6 golfers. Several world-class courses (Erin Hills, 4 Kohler courses, the Bull at Pinehurst Farms) within easy driving distance. It was great to come back after golf to relax, cook out and enjoy the stunning lake views, followed by sunrise breakfasts the next morning. The fire pit was great for after-dinner conversations! The home has great mid-century modern decor and is well-equipped in every respect - kitchen, baths, beds/linens, TV/internet, AC, etc. Our group was only 6 but with the keeper's cottage, it would have been very comfortable for a group of 8-10. Sally the manager was terrific - very responsive in fixing a minor internet glitch. I highly recommend this great property!

Beautiful home on Lake Michigan

  • 5 of 5

What a gorgeous property and home to have a family vacation. Beautiful sunrises lend themselves to early morning swims followed by leisurely days sitting on Adirondack chairs or in a hammock reading good books and visiting with family and friends.

Beautiful property, great family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We agree with all of the other positive things said about this home. It was great for our family of 9 adults and 5 children. It was clean, comfortable, kid-friendly. The rooms above the garage worked out really well for our daughter, son-in-law and their two young children. The kitchen was quite small but had everything we needed and we loved the big dining room table that fit all of us! Unfortunately, there was no beach to play on as the water level was so high but we went to a very nice beach about 5 minutes away. Some of the adults went in the water by the house. The yard was beautiful. Sally was great to work with and made sure we had all our questions answered. We spent several afternoons in Sheboygan and found plenty to do there.

Our return visit

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed here 6 years ago after our grandson was born and loved it. We decided to return this year for another family vacation. The now 6 year old grandson loved the huge yard, running around in the maze, playing along the shoreline, riding the bikes and helping build a nightly fire in fire pit. Plenty of firewood was neatly stacked against the fence, and plenty of kindling easily found on walks down the gravel road (a daily delight for our grandson). Both the one year old and the six year old found plenty of toys, books and games to play with. There were bikes of various sizes and helmets for adults and children. We all loved the beautiful yard, playing games, swinging in the hammock, grilling and eating outside at the long table. The smaller apartment above the garage was perfect for our son's family, allowing the children an earlier bedtime undisturbed. This is the best appointed place we have ever stayed: the kitchen has pretty much everything needed short of food, generous amount of dishes, glasses, etc. for both indoor dining as well as outdoor. The beds are very comfortable and the addition of room a/c in the upstairs bedrooms was appreciated by our always-hot son-in-law. We made use of the front load washer and dryer - a necessity for the one year old's needs. We enjoyed the little Fourth of July parade the local families put on, marching past us as we waved flags and balloons. Sally Schuster is an amazing property manager and will quickly respond to any need, like replacing the slightly rusty grill grate.

AMAZING PLACE TO BE!

  • 5 of 5

Great management, amazing location, nice and quiet with beach access. The toughest decision to make on this trip was what are we having for lunch. A+

Perfect house for family reunion

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Firefly Farms was wonderful. It was the perfect place for my wife and me to spend a relaxing week with our kids and grandchildren. We had plenty of room for the 12 of us and we all really enjoyed being right on Lake Michigan. Those of use that arose early got to enjoy the magnificent sun rises. Even the sun sets were a special time to sit back and enjoy the lake and the camp fires. Sally was a fantastic property manager and the houses met all of our needs. Only issue was an occasional buzzing coming from the upstairs A/C units. Sally was going to call in someone to take a look at this. The kitchens were very well equipped that allowed each family to prepare delicious meals. My only suggestion is to have an electric griddle available. The top of the stove griddle did not work well for us. There was lots to see and do in the area and we enjoyed just hanging out and being together as a family. We hope to be back next year.
