Volcano Natl Park Stay

We loved this property! The home is beautiful and very private. The location was the best as it was about 10 minutes away from volcano national Park so we could come and go and enjoy the area. The house is clean, spacious, and just stunning. We had some issues with hot water the first night because apparently the water heater had been serviced and they forgot to turn the heat back on. I contacted the management first thing in the next morning and they were very prompt to fix it. Great communication. Those things can happen. There was also a box of chocolates left for us, which was a nice treat. If I ever return to Hawaii, would definitely stay at this place again or recommend it to my friends.

Beautiful home near the Volcano

This was a wonderful home base for our family’s explorations of the volcano. We enjoyed it so much we actually wished we had booked another night! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore the Volcano area

Great location, BUT

If you want to explore Volcano National Park you could not get a better location. The home itself is easy to find and the outdoor surroundings beautiful. Inside the home feels tired and worn out. Bedrooms and furnishings OK. Towels supplied to us were hard and look like they came from Goodwill or a thrift store, some even with stains. Some glasses and dishes are chipped so watch for this. Pots and pans in ok to poor condition. Interior of oven has years of built & stuck on grime. Not comforting or appetizing to cook in. The owner quickly replaced the grill (5 stars for that) within 24 hours because what was there was in deplorable not working condition. Tub in Master bedroom is not jetted as described. Hot tub was only used once and was OK but the controls for that were "iffy" and unit did not work as it should have. Overall the interior and appliances were disappointing for a guest rental. BUT, location, location, location was ideal.

Volcano excursion

Visited the volcano for two days. Glad we chose to stay here. House is in a convenient location, private with beautiful surrounding rainforest, clean, and everything a family of 5 needs. Recommend!

It was a wonderful experience for us to stay at this beautiful home surrounded by serene rainforest. We got everything we needed there. The host was a great communicator and ensured our stay was pleasant. It’s also a great location near Volcano National Park. I highly recommend this lovely place for future visits.

Lovely, secluded escape!!

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at this property. We wanted to travel to the Big Island to see Volcanos National Park, and this property is perfectly located less than 2 miles from the park entrance. The home is set back on a secluded lot, so serene and private. Loved it there.

Great location and property!

Coming from Kona to see the volcano, we booked one night. I really wish we could have stayed longer! Lovely place, very peaceful with comfortable beds. The wood floors were fabulous, and all amenities as described. The Chocolates were a nice touch upon arrival as well. It was so close to the national park, which was just what we wanted. Thanks!

Great Volcano stay at Hale Apapaneas very responsive and

Beautiful home in an Ohia forest, with native Hawaiian birds singing at morning and evening…flitting scarlet red apapane… did not get a chance to shoot any hoops or get into the jacuzzi, but enjoyed the comforts of home so close to Volcano National Park. The host Adam was very responsive to any thing we needed and provided great local info on places to eat or visit. My brother in law has visited the Volcano area numerous times, and commented the home was the first he had ever rented or visited that was totally free of any damp smell so common in homes with less efficient heating systems. My wife and I look forward to another visit.

Rainforest house

It rained every day we were there, but we were still able to use the hot tub and stayed warm and cozy with the heater. Lots of space to spread out with the teenagers and grandparents. Loved being tucked into the fern forest, seeing orchids, lemons and bananas growing in the yard.

Great stay - thank you!

House is as advertised and in perfect location for exploring Volcanoes National Park. Spacious and clean with everything one would need. We enjoyed the hot tub after long days of travel and hiking. The kids loved playing basketball too.

Wonderful home nearVolcano village and Park.

Beautiful three bedroom home (all bedrooms upstairs). Nice grounds and a very welcome hot tub after long hikes in the Park or surrounding areas. Kitchen is well organized. Go to one of the food trucks for dinner and you should have enough food left over for several meals.

Another Great Stay at Volcano

Hale Apapane is one of our go-to places to stay when we visit Volcano. The property is always spotless, well-appointed and a pleasure to visit. We enjoyed the location, the fern forest, and the host's amenities. We will be back on our next visit.

A magical place

Perfect home in a stunning location. Enjoyed the peace and restful tropical environment. Took the recommendation from our host and attended the Sunday Community Famers market and had an enjoyable morning. Quick trip to volcanoes, black sand beach, stunning ocean views, lava tubes and Hilo.

I live in San Francisco, California, and love to visit the Big Island when I can. This home was built by my brother, also the manager of the property for his family in 2007.

Hale Apapane was built by Adam Jacobstein, the owner's brother, and was his family's home for 6 years before they moved off of Hawaii Island. It has been very carefully designed to take advantage of the surrounding landscape, with large windows, and enough room for a big group to feel together in the open living space, but still have separate areas upstairs. The furniture is all high quality and it was decorated with a purpose in mind.
