The location was minutes away from Volcanoes National Park. We did all our grocery shopping in Hilo before heading to Volcano. The home is nicely appointed with very well thought out detail and tastefully designed interior. Everything you could possibly need to feel like you were away on a luxe vacation - body wash/shampoos, a heated towel bar in the large master bath, bath robes, umbrellas and more. The beds were comfortable and we were provided with a lot of warm blankets and heaters for the cooler nights. This home has a unique layout that allows for private quiet time if you need it and wonderful gathering spaces when you don't. The host was so thoughtful and made sure we had enough wood for the fireplace (we hope to use it the next time we stay there). The kitchen window frames the native Ohia and the native garden. The upper room has a view of the Ohia treetops (birdsongs in the day) and I'm sure on a clear night you will be able to see the stars as well. The host did not overlook a single detail and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Hale Ho'okipa!
