Newer Peaceful Lakefront Cottage on Sapphire Lake!
Welcome to Lake Cityâand thank you for considering our Sapphire Lake cottage for your getaway! Lake City is so named because itâs home to three principal lakes. Sapphire Lake is the smallest, prettiest, and quietest. (Here, youâre more likely to see loons than jet skis.)
Youâll have the entire cottage to yourself. Outside, youâll enjoy an oversized lot with a large deck overlooking the peaceful, gorgeous Sapphire Lake. Watch the sunsets, watch the songbirds, watch the waterfowl (remember, loons are our specialty), and maybe, if youâre lucky, watch a seaplane landing or two.
Thereâs also a grill, fire pit, dock, two kayaks, and a paddleboat. Like to fish? Just step onto the dock or float a kayak. Inside the spacious three-story cottage, youâll find three bedroomsâall with queen or double bedsâtwo bathrooms, two living areas, two dining areas, a full kitchen on the main floor, and a second partial kitchen on the lake level. For your added comfort, central air has been added in late 2024. This home sleeps eight easily.
And the location? Just minutes from downtown Lake City, which fronts Lake Missaukee, the largest lake in the area. (Yes, thatâs a lot of lakes for one sentence, but thatâs how it is around here). Lake City has enough restaurants to see you through the week and a locally famous ice cream shop thatâs impossible to visit just once. Youâll also be within easy day-trip distance of Traverse City and multiple Lake Michigan beaches.
This Sapphire Lake retreat works well year-round. In summer, itâs pretty close to paradise. In winter, when available, itâs a convenient launching pad for snowmobiling and skiingâboth cross-country (at nearby Cadillac Pathway) and downhill (at Missaukee Mountain Lake City, and Caberfae Peaks in Cadillac).
Ideal for romantic retreats, family vacations, reunions, long weekends and Up-North escapes. We love this placeâand would be delighted to share it with you!
