E Komo Mai, Welcome to The Makahuena 2102!

“The Makahuena” is located on the southernmost point of Kauai. This unique oceanside resort is situated on the edge of a bluff providing spectacular coastal views. This spacious 3BR/2BA ocean view condo has over 1,300 sqft of living space. The fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms have been updated with cherry wood cabinets and granite counter tops. For added comfort there is a washer/dryer in the unit, 3 TVs, and split AC throughout the condo.

This single level floor plan opens up to a lanai with a beautiful ocean view, steps away from the pool, hot tub, and shared grill area. There are some stairs leading down to the unit. The primary bedroom has a king size bed and TV, the guest bedroom has a queen size bed, and the second guest bedroom has 2 twin beds (these cannot be combined). A full size sofa sleeper in the living room offers an additional sleeping place (a $50/night additional guest fee is applied for 7th & 8th guest).

This property is great! We loved staying here. It was clean and the a/c made everything more comfortable, especially in July, The location is very convenient as it is located near beautiful beaches along the South shore.The kitchen is well-stocked with supplies for cooking at home. The host was great with communication. Everything was smooth with check-in and the host checked in while we were there to see if we needed anything.

Condo on the cliffs

We loved the downstairs/garden condo, as it was perfect for the kids. The layout was great. We were fortunate to be granted early entrance, which was great, coming from a nearby hotel. The only downside is that there were only four beach towels.

Great Location with all the essentials

We had a wonderful stay at Makahuena. The host checked in to see what or if we needed anything, we didn't. It provided everything one needs for a week long stay. Beach chair and towels were provided as well. We would definitely stay here again!

Mr. Coffee Lives

We had a major crisis our second day. The beloved Mr. Coffee died. I contacted Jeremy, who immediately recognized the gravity of not having coffee in Hawaii and showed up with a brand new coffee maker almost immediately. Great service. Nice condo. Really well located if you have kids using the pool constantly.

We had a great stay at this condo. It was very spacious and fully stocked for days at the beach. The location was great with being able to walk to Poipu beach and walking a path/trail along the water that leads you to Shipwreck beach. Would stay here again for sure.

We stayed here with our three adult children. There was plenty of room. We loved being able to walk right off the patio to the pool or to view the sunset. It was about a 15 minute walk to Poipu to see the turtles. The condo was clean and well stocked with basic spices, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish and dishwasher detergent, etc. The view from the edge of the cliffs was amazing! We would definitely stay here again!

This place is amazing. Can't beat the sunset from the terrace. Confortable beds, beach gears for everyone with coolers. It felt like home in a better version after the first day. We used: hottub, pool, BBQ and I have no complaints.

Good

It was fine - good location and clean and comfortable beds. I did find it quite loud but that's on me for booking a ground floor unit. It was also a bit difficult to find the unit the first night. But it was nice and a good location and I appreciated the beach chairs too.

Our hosts were very helpful both before our arrival as well as during our stay. The 3 bed/2 bath unit was clean, neat and the kitchen was well stocked with appliances, dishes, and everything our family needed for our 8 day stay. They had a beach wagon and coolers plus beach chairs for all 5 of us which was greatly appreciated. Having a full size washer and dryer in the unit was super helpful. Excellent value!

Perfect Location

We celebrated a family member's 50th birthday in Kauai. There were six of us and our accommodations were fantastic. We had everything we needed in the condo with plenty of room. The location is very convenient to whatever we needed or wanted to do. Hope we can get back next year!

9days in paradise

Overall a very nice stay, loved the beaches, loved koala town, did four dives while on island and I must say that the Sheridan tunnels were fantastic
