Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

We are nestled in a quaint, wooded neighborhood of Sugarloaf, close to everything Big Bear has to offer, minus the traffic and crowds. Sugarloaf is just 10-15 minutes from Big Bear Lake and the Village. Our cabin is just 12 houses away from the National Forest with numerous hiking trails and a great sledding area in the Winter.

A comfy, knotty-pine living room, provides the ultimate relaxing spot while you watch a DVD in front of our soothing gas fireplace. Living room includes a flat screen TV, DVD player, and Cable TV. There is also a selection of board games, card games, and let’s not forget- a dartboard.

Bedroom 1 has a California King bed with a TV with cable tv. Bedroom has 2 queen sized beds and its own full bath.

We recently updated the kitchen with new laminate wood floors and a brand new stainless steel dishwasher.

Enjoy the long Summer days grilling on the large deck, shopping in the village, or simply take a short walk up the street to the National Forest with miles of hiking trails.

In the winter there is a great sledding spot 2 blocks away. If it snows during your stay you can sled down our street!

2-Night minimum stay required for non-holidays.

3-Night minimum stay required on major holidays.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This has been by far the best cabin I have rented, and best owners I have had the privilege to work with. We loved it do much we have already booked our next new years trip up here. The kids loved the snow and large back yard for the kiddos to play in, you did.not have to leave the property in less you wanted to. All the amenities you could think of are there, I especially loved the board games we got to enjoy and the living room was my favorite room of the house. Relaxing by the fire drinking some tea and watching the kids finish up there snow sledding in the yard to me is priceless. Owners are great, neighbors are great, everyone is very helpful there...the kids love d the moonridge zoo..also... I wish everyone gives this place a chance , you won't be disappointed.....it's lovely...

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Wow - what a great property and a great host. Michelle was in contact with me on a regular basis prior to my arrival, and provided me with detailed instructions and was very friendly and accommodating. The cabin was surprisingly extremely well stocked with cookware, utensils, and other extras in the kitchen. There were plenty of towels for the four of us, and the cabin was clean and inviting. The cabin was just the right size for our family of four plus a dog, and the living room was setup very nicely with couches and chairs. It was very comfortable. We headed to Snow Summit for 2 days, and the drive was an easy 15 minutes. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for an affordable getaway in the Big Bear area.

Nice cabin but minor misunderstanding

  • 2 of 5

The cabin was not hard to find but the road, however, was a bit difficult to drive up to. Because of the icy streets, it took us a while to pull up to the cabin, even with tire chains. It'd be nice if they plowed away all the ice in the driveway and the porch but either way we managed. The house was beautiful and clean; the heater worked well. The only thing I didn't like was the neighbors walking up to the porch and observing us as if we did something wrong. Later we get a call from Michelle stating the neighbors told her there was a piece lattice in the front yard. I had no idea where it came from; later my younger brother said it came from the side of the house and he used it for the snow. The kids nor did I know what a lattice was, luckily my brother had a picture showing the item was in fact on the ground and not in its intended place. The neighbors were nosy, and after we received that phone call, the whole experience just became awkward for us. One of the children also mentioned to me that the neighbors kept making comments about the ethnicity of my family. I am not entirely sure why they felt they needed to talk about family's ethnicity but seems that was a recurrent topic for them. Not to mention they were consistently drinking during the entire scenario. My husband also had to remove the heavy snow on the porch. So much snow collected, it became a danger to my family since everyone began slipping on the way to the door. Overall I do recommend this place just ensure to follow the extensive rule list and avoid anything that alerts the neighbors.

The cabin was perfect. It had everything that we needed for our visit to the mountains. We will be back if its available next year or even again this year.

Best VRBO ever

  • 5 of 5

Three wonderful days and nights thanks to this warm, inviting, clean and well stocked home away from home. Nestled in the woods of Sugarloaf, this cabin stay was everything anyone could ask for. Whether you are a family of six or a couple with pups this cabin will invite you to stay and enjoy it's hospitality. Our Thanksgiving with family was made even better by our stay in this amazing cabin. The owner was very responsive throughout the booking, stay and closing. It was great to know she was there for any questions. All around a great experience.

A charmingly adorable cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our family was looking for a place to stay for a weekend in Big Bear. We searched high and low, no local business cabins were available to be booked. I landed on this site, and found this adorable cabin available to rent. Our son had been talking about snow, so we planned our trip so he could see snow in person. I messaged the owner Michelle, and she answered all my questions. What we also liked was that the owner allowed us to bring our dog. Once we arrived, we found cabin to be absolutely adorable. We felt almost at home immediately. Our son was glued to the recliner seat, and fell asleep in it. We took the owner's suggestion and took a hike up to the national forest. We borrowed their sled and our son had a blast! The dog also had a blast with the snow that piled up in the front lawn. The bedrooms and bathrooms were great! The bathroom that's connected to bedroom 1 has a heater. Ah~ how I missed that. Thank you for the fully stocked kitchen! It was so helpful. You can drive into town, but we personally didn't feel the need to leave the cabin. It was just so nice and relaxing staying indoors. We'd love to return for the next winter season. Thank you for everything!
