Check-out instructions
The host requires you complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items
Lock the doors
Check out is at 10am. We do not ask you to clean up or strip the bed - we don't believe in check out chores!
If you have time, please turn on the dishwasher. This sanitizes any used dishes for the next guest and helps our cleaner out as it can take a long time to run.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

About the host
Hosted by Shealy Washington
Hi! We are Shealy and Eddie - originally from Alabama, where we met in college, but have since moved all over (Germany, Georgia, Oklahoma) during our time as a military family. We got married in the Smokies and fell in love with the mountains so much that we decided to build this cabin as our forever home and enjoy getting to host guests there until the day comes when we can move in full time.
Why they chose this property
We love Old Fort!
Since we bought our property in 2021, it has been an incredible part of our journey to watch the town come to life. We've gotten to know and love so many of the businesses and business owners there. It's become a special, and unexpected, part of our hosting journey to get to bring people to this little town and have them connect with the incredible local businesses - like Euda Wine, Whaley Farm Brewing, Seeker Coffee, Arrowhead Art Gallery, The Common Pine, Hillman Beer, Davis Country Store, and more.
Come see why we love it! Many of our guests feel the same way we do.

What makes this property unique
There's a lot about it that is very unique - for one thing, the shape. People love an a-frame! But it also was entirely designed by us, which was an incredible experience. There's 28 foot high open ceilings, there's beautiful craftsman level woodworking, and there's also a back deck that wraps around a huge chestnut oak (we've named him Baldur). It's a little bit of a treehouse!
