About the property

Get back to nature with this rustic modern cabin within 7 miles of downtown.

Our brand new rustic modern cabins allow you to reconnect with nature and loved ones, and stay within a short Uber ride to fabulous downtown Asheville. This cabin is nestled along the babbling Shope Creek just 1 mile from dozens of hiking and biking trails, 4 miles from the nearest entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 7 miles from downtown, brewery districts and the Biltmore House.

The cabin's master suite includes a new queen bed with luxurious linens. The second floor loft space has two cozy twin beds and plenty of games and toys. Our spa-like bath includes fluffy towels, organic bath products and a large tiled shower. The cabin has an open floor plan with kitchen and living room featuring rustic modern furnishings, a large flatscreen TV, and fully-stocked kitchen with new stainless appliances.

Get back to nature outside the cabin with many more amenities. Relax on the expansive porch with a seating and dining area with a retro-modern cone fireplace and plenty of firewood. Take a dip in our pristine hot tub under the stars, and be spoiled with extra towels and cozy robes. Play yard games with friends. Have a fire pit cookout and s'mores roast. Sit and read a book at benches along Shope Creek. Take a nap in an Eno hammock under the towering Sycamores. Enjoy mountain views, wildlife and the many native plants.

After a short drive or Uber ride, you'll arrive in downtown Asheville with its award-winning restaurants, galleries, huge antique malls, mircro breweries and boutique shopping. For foodies, we recommend Buxton Hall Southern BBQ and neighboring microbreweries in the South Slope District, Night Bell featuring James Beard awardee Chef Katie Button, Chai Pani Indian Street Food with MG Road cocktail lounge downstairs on Wall Street, En La Calle Mexican food on Eagle St, and Bouchon French Comfort Food and Creperie on Lexington Ave.

Weekend getaway and relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed hanging out inside, by the porch fireplace, and in the hot tub with my wife and friends. We all slept great in the beds and found everything we needed was there to make our stay comfortable.

We had such a wonderful weekend in Asheville! This cabin offers everything you want from a mountain getaway and is close to all of the wonderful restaurants and breweries Asheville has to offer. We have two young children who loved the loft and all of the outdoor living perks!

About Mae

Modcabins is a family owned business. We have designed and built rustic modern micro houses just outside Asheville city limits. We are passionate about the tiny house movement, a cultural shift to live a more self-sufficient, environmentally friendly and financially secure life. We love our little cabins and this mountain setting, and regularly use the cabins for our own family.

We recognize that on average, our guests have only a few weeks of vacation time each year. Therefore we do our best to provide a fun, relaxing and luxurious experience that allows guests to reconnect with nature and loved ones, and feel restored and when returning home.

Mae purchased this house in 2017

Why Mae chose Asheville

I am an Appalachian native, and love being a part of our mountain community. We chose this property because it is located conveniently only 7 miles to downtown Asheville, 4 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 1 mile from dozens of hiking trails in the Pisgah National Forest. The property also borders the beautiful Shope Creek, with mountain and forest views.
