Original beachfront house featuring exquisite and calming views across the property to the ocean, a private sandy beach path, an outdoor shower(hot/cold), a large covered porch, and bonus uncovered deck for sun bathing. Linens are included. WIFI service available, cable TV available in sitting room by kitchen and streaming available in first floor den (Guests log onto their own applications). No pets. No smoking.

This home is right on the beach with a huge yard and private access to the beach. The location was perfection and it is so cozy and inviting. The kitchen was well equipped and we LOVED the large covered porch where we could kick back and watch the sun rise AND sun set!

The location and view were great! The house was larger than expected and it was nice to have 2 living areas. However, this is an older beach house (we didn’t mind that) and there is much room for improvements. For example, the carpet and furniture looked very old and worn. Island Realty was great to work with. And check in and check out was easy.

Excellent location with beautiful view from comfortable back porch. It has its own path over the dunes to the beach. Very nicely decorated—seems like visiting someone’s real home, not just a barebones rental. Very complete kitchen with everything needed for meal preparation, good beds, updated bathrooms. Very spacious for a family or friends group. The living room and dining area carpets and couches could use some extra cleaning—fairly dusty, although overall the home was generally clean.

Nice location, Property needs a lot of updates
This house is on a nice piece of property but it’s old. The furnishings are old, the decorations are old, everything is old. There is CARPET in the downstairs bathroom. Never have I been happier to have brought house shoes. If it were updated in any way, it would be great, but as it is, I would not recommend it for the price. The tv is small, the living room furniture was basically unusable. We mostly sat out on the back deck which was lovely, but is not screened in, so there are lots of flying insects. Additionally, there is not an easy path to the beach, unlike the two houses on either side. I would not recommend this property.

We are regular visitors to IOP and always use Island Realty - with great success. The location of the house and the back porch were perfect. We appreciated the numerous seating options on the porch and easy access, view and the constant breeze (from having 3 sides open). The house is dated and layout is awkward for indoor gathering. Since we and our guests were very interested in watching KY Derby, that was hard. Bathrooms are very small and difficult to maneuver.

Walking to the beach in 2 min was fantastic! The layout of house is good for multi-family stay, beds are comfortable, nice view from deck, can see and hear the ocean! A screen door to deck would be nice on cooler days. Convenient to grocery stores and restaurants. Appreciate the owners interest in eclectic decor, but the furniture and carpet are well worn and need updating. As well on the rainy days the roof leaked on deck and beside the kitchen table, which probably accounted for the smell when we first arrived. Kitchen was nice and clean new stove but needs new blender, lids for pots and pans, only one dish towel and cloth. Wear shoes through grass as there are lots of biting ants. If these things were corrected, I would stay again or recommend to a friend.
Overall this was a decent house with pros and cons. First of all the check in process is so old fashioned- you still have to go to the realty office to pick up the keys and check in (luckily not far). ***and because check in is 4pm, and they close at 5pm, you have only a 1 Hour window to get the keys. Otherwise you have to call and arrange an after hours pick up. It’s just a little bit of an inconvenience considering this day and age almost all short term rentals use digital keypads. Pros- location is Excellent! Close to Mt Pleasant, downtown IOP, and Sullivan’s island. Having your own private beach access, Heads up, you need to walk thru a path over the dunes with plants that have extremely prickly seed pods. But the beach area is nice and wide to the water, even at high tide. Also there is a nice outdoor shower and a hose upstairs on the deck as well as under the deck. Outdoor patio area was great, wish there was some rocking chairs though. Also would’ve been awesome to have a fire pit, but not sure this is allowed.Cons- house was a little dated and could definitely use ALOT of TLC.. the decor inside was pretty odd also, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There was only one small TV in the upstairs and one small one in the downstairs living room. None in the bedrooms. Kitchen was not stocked very well, and the pans were horrible. Think we were only given 2 trash bags. It is a LONG walk from the house to the beach, so bring a cart! Would stay again though
