Se delfiner, skildpadder, havstråler, krabber og fiskefamilie til mad på den ene side, og vandfugle strejfer den lave side. Omgivet af vand på tre sider er boligarealet 1300 kvadratmeter med en indendørs gåtur op / nytteområde på første sal. Indretningen er åben grundplan med køkken, spisestue og stue ud mod Chesapeake med en fantastisk udsigt ud over de store atriumdøre. Denne ejendom tilbyder en 2. niveau omvikling omkring dæk med udsigt over vandet på 3 sider. Fisk foder på overfladen foran dine øjne. Krabbe eller fisk fra ejendommen. Et birderparadis - støder op til marsker og tidevandspooler på ejendommens side. Regelmæssige beboere inkluderer dykkende og dabblere, egrets, blå hegre, måger, kanoner og terner. Osprey reden inden for synet, og en skaldet ørn besøger sent på eftermiddagen. Start kajakkerne fra den private strand og padle til seværdigheder nord og syd. Der er bingo, spil og slots på mange virksomheder inden for gåafstand, såvel som levende musikarenaer op og ned ad den vestlige bred. Biler er ikke nødvendige takket være Beach Trolley Association. Summer Vacation

The property is in a great location and had easy access to the bay and the beach. We really enjoyed the opportunities to bike, kayak and crab.

Family Trip to North Beach

This location is perfect for soaking in for in the awesome bay views (180+), private inlet for kayaking and paddle boarding, and walking distance to fantastic restaurants. Also enjoyed the towns amenities such as the boardwalk, bay beach, and walking gardens. Open concept worked well for evening at home playing board games and enjoying dinner.

great location, great amenities

This house is beautiful, in a great location. You have one of the few direct accesses to the bay. Great fishing, crabbing, kayaking. The house has everything you need. Thanks to the Murphy's for opening their house, and providing excellent recommendations on what to do, where to eat, etc.

Perfect Location

The location of this property can’t be beat. The views are amazing and it’s a pleasant little walk to town and the boardwalk. House is clean and well supplied for any cooking you may want to do as well as any recreation that you may want to take on, beware of the red kayak however, it leaks. Owner was friendly, helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

Awesome place

You absolutely can’t beat this location. We went paddle boarding, went to the beach every day, and took our small boat out that we were able to put in right there in the backyard. We watched the sun rise over the bay and saw a full double rainbow as the storm rolled out. My kids fished, crabbed, and my husband and I drank wine on the porch every night after bedtime. The house was very clean, had everything we needed, and the views were fantastic. We’re definitely planning to come back if we can!

Peaceful stay on the water

This was the perfect place for a relaxing family get-together, with a lovely spacious living area on the second floor, and a wrap-around deck which meant that you could always find the sun, shade, or shelter from the wind. There is instant access to the water - first in a very sheltered lagoon and then in a bay - so great for having fun on the water with a variety of kayaks, SUPs, and other floating devices available. The owner was very quick to respond to questions. The house is located right at the end of North Beach so was quiet, but only a short walk to shops and restaurants. We had a fun week there.

So close but felt so far. Beautiful getaway.

Quick vacation with my three daughters in July. Amazing views. Felt secluded. Cute town. Simple home which is all we needed. The kayaks were easy and awesome to use. Only downfall for us, it was during a heat wave and swimming was limited because of jellyfish. I didn’t mind a sting here and there but my daughters weren’t having it. Would definitely go back though when it wasn’t 100 degrees. Great host.

A Perfect Family Getaway Surrounded by Water and Wildlife

We had an absolutely incredible four-day stay at this peaceful, well-stocked waterfront home—an ideal retreat for families or couples looking to relax and reconnect with nature. The location is truly unmatched: 270 degrees of water views, with serene birdwatching right from the deck (we especially loved watching the nearby osprey nest). It felt like we were wrapped in nature, but still within walking distance to several excellent restaurants.The home had everything we needed for a comfortable and convenient stay—plenty of towels, paper goods, a fully equipped kitchen, and even fishing and crabbing gear for spontaneous waterfront fun. There were also kayaks and stand-up paddleboards included, which made exploring the area a real highlight. Inside, we enjoyed board games in the evening and relaxing with the smart TV after long days in the sun.Check-in and check-out couldn’t have been smoother—the host provided clear, timely communication every step of the way, including a thoughtful mid-stay message about a local farmers market we ended up loving. While the home itself is older and a bit rustic, it was exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and had a cozy charm that made us feel instantly at home.We also took a short drive to hunt for shark teeth—a surprisingly fun and unique activity! All in all, this was the perfect place to unwind and spend quality time with loved ones. We’re already looking forward to returning!

Waterfront Gem: Perfect Family Getaway with Great Fishing!

Excellent stay at a prime location! The host, Pat, is exceptionally accommodating and communicative, always quick to respond and offer helpful advice. The property's location is unbeatable, right on the water with great fishing and crabbing opportunities. We caught some nice bass and blue crabs during our stay. Pro tip: if you're after bass, try catching some small fish in the nearby pond for bait first. This place is perfect for families with children. Our kids had a blast with all the outdoor activities, especially fishing and crabbing. The host thoughtfully provides fishing rods, shrimp nets, and crab pots, which really enhanced our experience. While the house is older, it's very well-maintained and clean. All necessary amenities are provided, and everything functions properly. The only minor inconvenience was having just one bathroom for our group. Overall, we had a wonderful time. The combination of a great location, well-equipped house, and Pat's hospitality made for an unforgettable family vacation. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a waterfront getaway with plenty of activities!

Beat the heat

Our group of five adults rented this home over a weekend when temperatures soared to close to 100 degrees in DC. We brought our three small sailboats and were able to hand-launch from the private cove and then have direct access to the Bay. Being on the water, or on the wraparound deck that caught the breeze off the water, was an excellent way to beat the heat! The house was clean, comfortable and very well-equipped for our needs. We used the gas grill for dinners and then walked a block into town for ice cream. While the marsh grasses are a bit more grown up than in the photos, there was plenty of room for us to set up our pop-up shade tent and Cornhole boards in the side yard. A word of caution to anyone who wants to swim in the cove - be sure to bring water shoes with straps, since the mud can be sole-sucking! We ended up going in barefoot and encountered minimal shells underfoot. Overall the house and property was exactly what we were looking for as a weekend getaway with our small boats and we look forward to the opportunity to return again in the future.

The location of this house is the best in the area! It is surrounded by the bay and you have your own personal area to enter the water. We had the bay to ourselves. We loved using the kayaks and paddle boards that were provided. Crabbing was so much fun also. The home is lovely and has everything you need. Great restaurants, shops, the pier and local beach are all within walking distance. The owners communicated well and the check in and check out process went smoothly. We would love to return to this home again.

One of my new favorite places in the world

I was in very dire need of a weekend away and this beach house was absolutely perfect. It’s unpretentious and well-loved, surrounded by water, very comfortable and SO RELAXING! The owner was extremely responsive and very pleasant. I’ll definitely make my way back!

This morning I watched the sun rise.

When searching for a vacation location we wanted something near the water. Well, we found the perfect house! Perched just feet from the shoreline, the bay view the house provides is perfect in every way. When sitting on the deck one enjoys an unobstructed, virtually 180 degree view, of the bay. I especially enjoyed getting up early enough to watch the sunrise. Just a cup of coffee and sitting on the deck was all I needed. What a beautiful sight! Another plus is the house sits at the end of a one way street. It’s very quiet. If you’re a bird watcher than you won’t be disappointed. It sure was fun watching birds dive for the water looking for a snack. I even got a glimpse of the bald eagle. The location is also close enough to Washington, DC to make a day trip to see the our nation’s capital. It was easy for us to get there by car and well worth the trip. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with gorgeous views and a great location you should consider this property. We just loved it.

Beautiful Spot on the Bay

The location is incredible. Beautiful views and a quaint, sleepy beach town with a few restaurants and a small, local beach. About an hour to DC. Our family of 4 stayed for a week. The house was sufficient for our family of 4. Paddleboarding and fishing from the backyard became a favorite of our 14 and 15 year old kids, another favorite was walking into town to go to the bakery in the morning or ice cream in the evening.

Perfect getaway

We loved staying at this house right on the bay! Beautiful views all day and our own private water access. The kids absolutely loved trying out the kayaks and paddle boards! The only thing that could have made the week better would be if we didn’t get a jellyfish invasion but we dealt with it and still absolutely enjoyed the house and everything North Beach had to offer! It was the perfect location, private but still so close to everything!

Excellent Beach Front Property

This house was an amazing find! The location was perfect and within walking distance of so many things. If the weather had cooperated I would have taken full advantage of the kayaks and paddleboards, but could only stare at them wistfully while listening to the rain beat down on the deck. 😊 My friend staying with us did have an allergic reaction to something on the railing, but we have no idea what. Could have been anything from the salt water to the pollen that day. None of the rest of us had an issue though and it was still an awesome stay! Thanks for providing such a great space for us to enjoy Patrick and Anne! Oh, and as a funny anecdote... we have relatives who were staying at a much more expensive, much larger rental a few blocks away. And even though the place was impressive, it lacked in the many luxuries that we were provided... such as wash clothes, measuring cups, and paper towels! You guys have this hosting thing down perfectly!

Can't beat this location

The property is located at the end of the beach walk with views of multiple bodies of water. Because it's surrounded on three sides by water it's got a private feel, but it's within walking distance of the boardwalk, beach, and multiple restaurants, wine bars, and small shopping venues. The kitchen is well-equipped for a vacation home. Beds are comfortable. WiFi was adequate for two remote workers plus two occasional users; it briefly (for a few minutes) went out on us maybe once a day, but it was always back quickly. If I could give the owners six stars, I would -- they were communicative, helpful, and provided much-appreciated extras such as a starter supply of common needs so that instead of having to buy everything we only needed to buy what needed replacing -- for instance, they left two rolls of toilet paper, we bought a 4-pack, and we ended up leaving two rolls. Ditto stuff like trash bags, paper towels, ziplocks, spices. Our family would definitely stay at this VRBO again.

Amazing landscape

We loved this home. Cleanliness was incredible. Nothing left to chance for you to use and enjoy. Loved sitting on deck, especially mornings and soaking in the view and sounds of a waterfront home. Definitely a place for a couple get away or I could only imagine a family having such a wonderful time here.

Mike Murphy was an engineer who assisted in the design of the Smithsonian American History Museum and oversaw construction & maintenance of many Smithsonian buildings in DC for over 20 years before retiring at the house in North Beach to conduct oyster research under grants from Univ. of MD and Univ. of NC. During World War II, he worked as a physicist on the Manhattan project at Los Alamos. In 1986, he designed/engineered the building to withstand hurricane force winds with a 12-telephone pole foundation driven 34 feet into the ground. A category 4 hurricane (Isabel) has since passed in 2003 without disturbing the solid construction. He also engineered the tidal pool in the rear of the property to attract wildlife and serve as a boat launch. Patrick Murphy is an avid fisherman and retired health care executive. Annie Murphy Roberts is a health care provider.

We chose to keep the property in the family because it is unique among bay properties. There are water views on three sides, it has it's own private harbor, and unmatched proximity to the water. It is also less than 2-hour drive from our primary homes, making it the perfect weekend get-away.

The deck overlooks the water. The house has its own protected harbor for small water craft. The close proximity to the water allows you to see breaking schools of fish feeding, dolphins, sea rays, ospreys, egrets or the blue heron residing in the back yard and adjacent marshes. Terrapins & River Otters nest in the beach nature preserve behind the property. Otters fish within sight some days. Recently, there have been many sightings of bottlenose dolphins off the property. And otters began nesting and hunting in the waters around the house. Unlike other houses on the street, you may crab or fish from the property. We have five security cameras outside the house for monitoring between guests. Cameras are paused during guest rentals.
