Condo was great.

  • 3 of 5

Condo was great. The elevator was broken the whole 7 days we were there. Walking 3 flights of stairs every time we went out was not good. Can't imagine what is was like for people on the 5th floor. Rating would have been higher if the elevator worked.

Owner's Response: We are pleased to hear you enjoyed this condo during your most recent visit to Hilton Head and we appreciate your feedback. As for the elevator, it is very unfortunate it was not in working order during your stay. We do our best to communicate any knowledge we have of these issues with our guests. We hope you still enjoyed yp/our trip and beautiful weather. We would also be more than happy to assist with any future rental needs you may have!

Excellent property, regrettable security

  • 3 of 5

The villa was as advertised: well appointed and well maintained. On one evening, we invited friends who live on the island to stop by for a drink before we all went out to dinner. I was unsuccessful in persuading the security people to issue a guest pass to our guests. I called on the house phone so they would know that I was there as a renter, but they were unyielding and extremely rude. So even though we liked this property, we will go back to Sea Pines next time where the security people seem to have some sense.

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at Windsor Place II and we totally impressed. First, we were impressed as to how clean the unit was!! This one bedroom was perfect for us. The property was maintained wonderfully and the view from the balcony was unobstructed and beautiful. Mornings and evenings on the balcony are the perfect ways to start and end your days. The bathrooms were wonderful and the living area was great. TV's, washer/dryer and all the appliances were in great working order. The Vacation Company rental staff were very helpful and considerate. A great place to spend our vacation.

Great week with family at the beach

  • 5 of 5

We are long time visitors to HHI and have stayed in various Windsor properties for the last 13 years. This one bedroom was perfect for our family of four. It has plenty of space to spread out and the second full bath makes it doable with kids. The bathrooms have been renovated and are lovely. The kitchen is lovely as well and has everything you may need for a low key week at the beach. One of my main priorities is having a beach view--this condo does! The unit is high enough to see over the landscaping and not so high that the view is blocked by the trees. I loved having my morning coffee on the balcony while watching the waves. The condo is stocked with games and books and nice TVs. The stacked washer/dryer came in handy. I can't think of anything I wished we'd had while there.

Having stayed in HHI for so many years, I think the Windsor properties are some of the best on the island. They are insulated from the crowded beach resorts so we never feel like there are too many people around us on the beach. The property itself is well maintained with lots of lush foliage. The pool is nice as well, although we didn't go once this year. We are beach bums for sure!

As for island fun...our favorite spots are Steamers for arrival day lunch, Hudson's for shrimp, Salty Dog for drinks/music on the patio, and Crazy Crab in Harbour Town and a visit to the lighthouse. Can't visit HHI without a visit to the lighthouse. We also love the Pirate mini golf. OH! and Marley's for ice cream. There are tons of grocery options now! The new Kroger is closest. There's also a Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Publix, Harris Teeter and Piggly Wiggly.

I think this one bedroom unit can be what you make it. For sure, HHI is a family summer vacation destination. There are lots of families with all the cousins and generations together. When we were there it was clear that one family had multiple units in our building. That's a great way to be together and still have a little space from each other. We had a great family vacation here. We ate in some, we ate out some. We spent most of our time on the beach. If you like to be busy there are plenty of places to rent boats, bikes, or paddle boards. Going to the Salty Dog is kind of like a block party--music, a million kids and T-shirts! However, a couple looking for some quiet can find that too. I could have spent the week on that balcony with a book and have been fine.

This unit was a perfect home base for our week at the beach.

Great stay!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay, loved the location and easy access to the beach & pool! We have two small children and the kids pool was fantastic. The unit was perfect for our small family and we'd stay there again. We had some issues with the pull out being broken but I called and it was fixed within the hour. I would say it's probably time for a new mattress on the pull out though. Our four year old didn't mind it but I wouldn't recommend it for older kids or adults. Overall great stay!

Shane and Kathy

  • 4 of 5

Our 2nd visit to HHI and we loved being so close to the beach. The view was better than expected and the proximity to the beach could not have been better. The condo was well appointed and decorated very nice. The washer was extremely small, but it worked well, just had to do smaller loads more often. The ice maker was not working but it was reported by the people before us and management was there to address the issue first thing Monday. A phone call ahead of time would have been nice as we were not expecting anyone and was reluctant to answer the door. The unit was sprayed for bugs while we were there; it would have been nice to know this ahead of time. One morning we were awakened by construction in the unit above us which we did not like, but luckily it only seemed to be the one day.

We loved the tile shower, but suggest a note be left on how to operate the faucet because we thought it was broken and used the 2nd shower. We found the glass door on the 2nd shower was broken, but management fixed it when they came to address the ice maker. We left a note regarding the tile shower head was leaking and was not able to be used, but the rain shower head was very nice in it's place.

The only true complaint we would have is the bedroom needs room darkening shades. Since the sunrises on that side of the building the room is flooded with light literally at the crack of dawn and makes it difficult to sleep in.

Overall the condo was very good with a few minor up-keeping issues. We enjoyed the condo very much and we would return to this unit the next time we want to be on the beach.
