Managed by Big Bear Vacations, this historic site offers twelve mountain-style cabins on two acres of pine-shaded lakefront. Originally Potters Camp in the early 1900s, it now caters to all types of vacationers seeking a unique mountain experience, from couples and families to large groups for gatherings and events.

Each cabin is ideal for an adventure in the mountains offering the comforts from home, modern essentials, and an unbeatable location in the mountains. Reserved individually or combined together these adorable cottages and the incredible location becomes the perfect year round destination for any season, sitting just steps away from the shoreline at Big Bear Lake and within a short walk to local marinas and the downtown Village area. Relax on lake-view decks, enjoy the group patio area, or use the provided Charcoal BBQ for grilling.

Shore Acres Lodge boasts fantastic facilities: a lakefront location, seasonal shared boat dock, fishing area, summertime community swimming pool (weekends only, Memorial Day to Labor Day), outdoor horseshoe and volleyball pit, kids swing-set, large outdoor BBQ and picnic area, outdoor table tennis, onsite trash disposal, hi-speed WIFI access, flat screen streaming TVs, and a spacious pet-friendly property. (California Leash Law + Pet Fee Applies). Ample flat parking is available year round. Walking distance to the Big Bear Village and local marinas this is an ideal location any time of the year!

Amazing views with Rustic Cabins

Online reservations were easily made and the location is beautiful. The cabin is rustic and maintenance is lacking. The shower and windows were in serious need of repair. We still enjoyed our stay. We just showered at home.

Cozy cabin with good location

Overall, our family had a nice time at the cabin. The location was very quiet, and we loved how close it was to the lake. The private dock that was available was very nice. However, the cabin was very hard to stay warm in. There was a large gap under the front door that let in a lot of cold air. We were forced to fill the gap with a towel. Also, the heater stopped working twice during our short stay. Thankfully, the maintenance team was very quick to respond and fix the issue. While maintenance was there, both men commented that the heaters were extremely old and in terrible shape. The thermostat was falling apart and the entire heating unit looked as if it was going to fall off of the wall. The unit definitely needs to be replaced. We also would have liked to have been advised that in order to access the only bathroom in the cabin, you have to go through the master bedroom. The pictures of the layout were a little deceiving. Other than those few things, our stay at the cabin was very nice and relaxing.

Worst Place We Ever Stayed

As a family we’ve been to Big Bear annually and mostly stayed at VRBO properties this was by far the worst. From the moment we arrived..we saw a beer bottle and a ton of cigarette buds on the ground, then we couldn’t open the door because there was one non-working deadbolt and the knob was flimsy. Once we entered the smell of cigarettes was overwhelming! I almost thought we booked a smoking property! The interior property itself was very small, and so dilapidated. The floors had soft spots and one of the bedroom doors wouldn’t shut all the way. The carpets were not clean and the bathroom was the worst. Tile grout is barely there..the shower was moldy and leaking all night. The toilet was next to an old window and you felt the wind chill coming in. No extra towels or toilet paper or a broom was found. We called immediately and they brushed us off and told us we could not be guaranteed a refund since a manager would not be available until the following Monday. So we felt stuck unable to rent another property. They did offer to send someone to “clean” the smoke but they came hours later and the smell was still there.

Family vacay

We had a good time the cabin was cute, clean spacious. It was very quiet and the whole family felt comfortable and taken care of. We all took a walk to the lake and visited the village. The kids were a little disappointed on the pool/jacuzzi not being available but totally understandable due to covid protection I suppose. I definitively recommend to a small family or a group of familys to stay since it's a small connected little community of cabins.

Cozy and beautiful

My friends and I had a blast at this cabin. Great view if the lake especially at sunrise. Not far from the ski resort and the village is down the street. All in all, I'll have to stay here again.

Check in wasnt til 4pm which was not at all enough time. Bedroom light was broken. Cabin smelled like a cheap motel.

Dear Jules~ Thank you for sharing your voice. Lakeview 104 is in a great location. It is prime lakefront property. These cabins are meant to be rustic and are described as such. #104 is often booked for its extreme value over luxury - so our Guests can enjoy that old world cabin feel, but with modern amenities like wifi, and a pool and spa in the summer. I believe we can earn a better rating from you in a future stay - perhaps with a different choice of property. We have over 300 to choose from, many of which are luxury. It is our hope we have you as our guest again very soon.

Awesome experience

My family always spend our winter at big bear. We love the house. The internet is working, tv has cable and netflix. My kids enjoyed the game room. Overall, awesome experience. The cabin was clean and warm. I love waking up in the morning overlooking at the lake. We love to come back soon renting the same house!!! Thank u for the good service!!!

Pets must be acknowledged and may not be left unattended in the home. Owners must clean up after pets; subject to added cleaning fees for violations.

All homes include clean linens, and fresh bath towels for the occupancy. A kitchen with basic cookware and small starter amount of dish soap, toilet paper, and trash bags will be supplied. Paper towels, coffee filters/coffee, specialty appliances, nor condiments/spices/oils are supplied.

No Pay-Per-View Ordering in any homes.

No refunds/credits for cancellations or trip interruptions due to acts of nature, (especially snow, fire, power outages) weather, road conditions, mechanical or electrical failures, spa malfunctions, or other equipment factors beyond our control.

This is a forested mountain community home to critters- animals or insects you may encounter are spiders, moths, flies, squirrels, gophers, bears, coyotes, burro, bear, bats, etc. Our team inspects prior to arrival but cannot guarantee the home will be free of these forest critters.

We reserve the right to offer a comparable property or issue a full refund if circumstances arise that are beyond our control and your property is made unavailable for any reason.
