Great location, lots of extras. Would stay again

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this rental for 3 nights while visiting the North shore (ps - love the North shore!). Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return. We did note a few areas for improvements as well. We found the location to be awesome - we could walk to so many different beaches with such variety - from world class surf spots to amazing snorkelling to calm swimming spots. Also walking distance were food trucks which we didn’t have a chance to try but smelled amazing and were always busy! We really enjoyed the north shore. The town of Haleiwa was a short drive for shopping and meals out. Try the Beachhouse restaurant - it was amazing!!!

The bed in the unit was very comfy and there were windows throughout. It was a good size for a one bedroom and we found it to be well equipped. We LOVED the extras like snorkel gear and boogie boards and we used them often. My husband saw so many interesting fish at sharks cove, just down the road. He also loved the outdoor shower and we made use of the bbq. Considering this unit is at the bottom of a fairly large complex it was very quiet and private and we slept like babies. There was a bit of a misunderstanding between the housekeeper and the owners when we arrived which was disheartening after a 13 hour flight but George was quick to resolve the issue and was very nice, apologetic, and attentive. Thank you George.

The areas where we found improvements could be made are few but worth a mention. Overall we felt the unit could use a bit of a facelift/deep cleaning. It was obvious that the unit was maintained with daily cleaning, we found that the walls, door handles, grout, couches, etc could use a good scrubbing/deep clean. While we did not come to Hawaii to stare at screens we are from Canada so relied on wifi to communicate back home st night (cell phone roaming). We found the wifi reception to be very poor in this unit and could hardly use it. The remote from the tv needs replacing. We did wish there was outdoor space to sit and drink our morning coffee but we were aware of this prior to our arrival and took a short two minute walk to the beach.

Overall we felt for the price and for getting this unit last minute the value was very good. We would stay again. Thank you George and Cathy for your hospitality!

Nice for beach people

  • 3 of 5

Unfortunately not as quiet as we would have liked. Just think everyone should know that the bed was the hardest mattress I've ever tried to sleep on. And the living room furniture while very nice looking is very low to sit on and we found it very uncomfortable. Someone that is there strictly for the surf might just find this the perfect place.

Great location on the Northshore

  • 4 of 5

Great location on the Northshore, nice and quiet, close to the beach with good snorkelling, Foodland for supplies and lots of food trucks. The owners have thought of lots of little things like beach chairs, snorkelling gear etc available.

The guest wifi in the downstairs unit was pretty slow and aircon in the bedroom would be good but the fan supplied helped a lot.

Just close enough to everything that you don't really even need a car, but far enough away from it all that you really feel like you are getting out into the quiet country. I have stayed here twice in the last two years during January. The first time was a deep personal retreat, and this apartment is the right place for lots of yoga, reading, and sleeping with its quietness, and soothing filtered light. Keiki beach lies just across the street for many long beach walks and swims and meditations. This beach has beauty to rival any in the world and feels fairly private compared to many other beaches on Oahu. I love watching the surf and surfers here during surf season.

My second trip I brought a my boyfriend and ventured out a bit more from the North Shore in a car rental, and this apartment was always such a welcoming place to return to after a day of adventure around Oahu.

We enjoyed just going to the beach in the evenings after dinner to bask in the glow of gorgeous sunsets (of course! it’s Hawaii, right?).

All the amenities you need are right here: full kitchen with amenities, snorkeling gear (great snorkeling nearby), bikes, washer/dryer, BBQ, and the hosts even have guidebooks for any interest you may have. I especially like the extra refreshing outdoor shower (there is one inside too).

I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends and i will be there again next year!

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved every minute of our most recent surf trip to the North Shore. This unit is smack dab in the middle of the all the action. We took a short pedal (bikes provided) to Sunset Beach to watch the HIC pro event. The Foodland is within walking distance if you are in need of an Ono Pop (best whole-fruit popsicle around). On flatter surf days, we walked to Sharks Cove for top-notch snorkeling (gear provided, if you need it), plus, we hit the Waimea Farmers' Market every Wednesday (we took our car to load up on fresh veggies and Link's bacon and sausages, but you could easily ride a bike). Not a surfer? Winter wave watching on the North Shore is awesome.

The unit is well kept, clean and simple. The kitchen has all the basic supplies plus a few extras like a rice maker and a blender. The living room is comfortable with enough space for two yoga mats to stretch after surfing. The unit is bright and breezy. The owners are friendly and happy to help.

In the heart of the surf

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time this year that my wife and I rented this unit. It is a great size and has all the cooking gear. It's close to some great surf, food trucks, surf contests, snorkeling, surf and a short drive to Hale'iwa Town (more surf, food and surf). George (owner) knows the local breaks and sent us to the goods!

I will book here again.
