Splendid westerly views and gorgeous sunsets to be enjoyed by family and friends from this tasteful Cape's spacious deck, living and dining rooms, sunroom and kitchen. Enjoy the wonderful ambiance of this easy-living floor plan with first-floor bedroom, bath, laundry area, living room with fireplace and built-ins, large dining area with wide window seat and dining table with room for 10 people. Upstairs there are two more bedrooms ( three twins and one queen) and a bathroom with a shower (no tub). The property has incredible perennial gardens with a path that leads down to the waterfront. At the waterfront, there is an Island owned by the Damariscotta River Association, which can be walked to during low tide. The island is a great place to swim during high tide. This property has a basement flat with its independent entrance that is occupied by the property manager. The property manager works during the day, and you will not see him unless you need his assistance. We have three kayaks and one canoe which are free to use during your stay. You can make arrangements with our property manager (former US coastguard employee) if you want to use them. The property is ideally positioned to explore the coast of Maine via the river, visit Pemaquid lighthouse just a few miles down the road, spend time in the picturesque town of Damariscotta (1.6 miles) or explore further afield by visiting Boothbay Harbor ( 25 minute drive), Bath (20 minute drive) or Camden (40 minute drive). Damariscotta was recently voted the #1 spot to visit in Country Living's article "40 American Towns You Haven't Heard of but Should Visit ASAP". This property is set back from a busy road 129/130, and when the windows are open you can hear the traffic - you don't notice it after some time - so complete silence is not something you will get at this property. Also, be aware that the house is not centrally air-conditioned, we have a split AC (main unit outside the house) that cools the entire living/dining/TV room area on the 1st floor, and we have window fans in all rooms for the night.
3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms With Scenic Views Of the Damariscotta River - sleeps 8

We fell in love with Maine as well as this awesome house!
Wonderful property with lots of room and great view
Everything its advertised to be and more! Nishad has provided a clean and well maintained property with everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to the Damariscotta area.
Nice, quiet home set back from the river
We stayed at this property for a wedding because of the great reviews and the distance to everything. We really enjoyed this house and all it had to offer. We really felt at home and the quietness and cool Maine mornings were perfect to wake up to. The only slightly negative thing I would say would be the beds/mattresses are a little dated. So, if you're used to something different, it may take some adjusting. No big deal, just thought I would add. Overall, we really enjoyed this property and I would rent again. Thanks!
Thanks for your review and for your extremely positive feedback, we enjoyed hosting you. In terms of the beds, just to clarify for future guests, the bed in the master bedroom, 1st floor, is certainly dated, but the mattress is brand new and is on the firm side - I suffer from a bad back. The beds and mattresses in the second floor are all from Ikea and are only a couple of years old - you can see them in the photographs.
So glad we came across this home for rent! The location was fantastic and just where we needed and the view from the back deck was breathtaking! The home is very spacious and comfortable! The only constructive criticism I would have is maybe with some of the supplies, there weren't any face cloths and toilet paper was limited, so we went and bought some. Otherwise, totally decked out to accommodate everyone in your family! Thank you very much and we will totally rent here again!!!
Thanks, Lori. I am glad you had a comfortable stay, we enjoyed hosting you. I am sorry that there were no face cloths and that there was not enough toilet paper. Our cleaner normally leaves extra toilet paper in the bathroom closets, and her number is available in our guest book should future guests need to get in touch with her for more supplies. The face cloths should be on your bed when you arrive along with the towels . Do let our cleaner know if supplies are out.
Spacious and comfortable
We really enjoyed our stay, despite rainy, overcast weather. Enjoyed visiting Pemaquid Pnt. Lighthouse, Pemaquid Beach & Fort Wllm Henry, all nearby, while still accessible to other areas such as Popham Beach, Bath, Belfast, etc. The village of Damariscotta has a lot to offer with lovely shops and restaurants.
Nishad's house is very spacious and comfortable, which was great as we had a few overnight guests, all of whom agreed it was a great space. Kitchen is just the right size, and the house was supplied with almost everything we needed as far as linens, bath towels and detergents for dishwasher and washing machine go (although I'm not sure if that was left over from previous visitor or intentional). Loved the game room with foosball table, a great space for kids. We did not use the kayaks/canoe as the weather was uncooperative and access also seemed quite muddy at low tide. Street traffic noise at night was not bad as most windows in bedrooms face towards back of house and the river.
Only criticisms are that there are beds for 7 people, but I think it was 8 when we booked; kitchen freezer is a small separate fridge that does not hold much. It's located on top of the existing refrigerator and a bit inaccessible for short folks.
Nishad was very responsive when needed, and provided very thorough and clear instruction manual for guests. Didn't hear a peep from the downstairs tenant, until our departure, and we tried to be good upstairs neighbors. Overall we really enjoyed the house and decor (art lovers live here), and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in exploring this region of Maine.
We really enjoyed hosting Renee and family. Thank you for your review and your kind words about our house. In terms of the number of people, since your actual booking only had four people we didn't think there was a need to bring up options for an 8th bed. In general, if someone needs 8 beds, we warn people before they confirm that the 8th bed will either be a sofa-bed, in the living room or a queen air mattress.
This home exceeded all our expectations!! The location is perfect for going down town or driving to Pemaquid Point. The home itself is lovely and comfortable. Everything is of top quality and very clean. We decided that we could just live there forever!!!!
