About The Owner

We like everywhere we have been in the state of Hawaii so far, but our favourite place is the Kohala Coast on the Big Island because it's not too busy and there is a lot to see and do.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2011

Why The Owner chose Waikoloa Village

Once we settled on Hawaii for our second home, we visited all the islands and found the Big Island most attractive for our tastes. We vacationed at many resorts in the Kona and Kohala areas. All were fun, but when we decided to buy a home, the Kohala Coast was the clear choice, and Hali'i Kai at Waikoloa Beach with its incredible ocean-front Ocean Club was our hands-down favorite!

What makes this condo unique

A typical days starts off having a cup of Kona coffee on the Lanai and then a walk in the sunshine along the coastal fishermen's trail to the Hilton and Kings shops. Next it's down to the pool for a dip and some reading. Lunch is at the condo and then off to sight see, golf or hit a beach. Happy hour is back at the pool to enjoy the sunset and then home to grill on our Lanai or go out for a nice dinner.

Perfect, quiet, family friendly location.

Our family of 5 stayed here prior to Christmas and it was a great introduction to the island. The pool was great for the kids, although it would have been nice to have slightly later hours. The fact that it was ground floor was a big advantage to allow the kids freedom in the gated community; I had no worries about them (13, 14, 7). It was also nice to be able to have the lawn area right outside the lanai. The kitchen had almost everything we needed; picked up a coffee grinder while we were on the island but that's just b/c we like fresh beans. The master is slightly separated from the other two bedrooms, which have their own bathroom - this was nice for both parents/kids to have some privacy. The rest of the condo is very open and comfortable. The location was good, it was our first time on the Big Island. I was far enough away from touristy city areas but close enough we could head into Kona whenever. It also allowed us a good starting place to tour all directions of the island. There are also shops close if you need something last minute. It's very easy to get to the main highway from this area, which gets you right to grocery stores, Costco, etc. I hope we are able to return sometime soon.

Beautiful setting and comfortable home! Our grandkids loved the playing on the lawn by the patio.

Richard is a conscientious host and made us feel welcome. The condo unit was perfect for two couples and grandkids! We loved how it was stocked with beach toys and a pak n play along with a high chair. The pool was also kid friendly and what a view from it! Beautiful shade of blue in the ocean and whale sightings often. Restaurant and bar served up the best. We look forward to another visit!

Very good.

We had a great vacation. When we arrived there were a few minor problems. The screen door was broken and the propane tank was empty. But after contacting the management a new door was ordered (did not arrive in time for our visit) and Gene took care of the propane. The location was perfect and would happily rent it again.

Well located, clean, quiet, secure and well equipped

Great experience at this property (our first trip to Hawaii). We stayed for two consecutive weeks. The condo had all the necessary amenities most folks would need and everything worked the way it should. The condo's ground floor entry, (real) high speed WiFi, closeness to the Beach Club and the Hali'i Kai property's proximity to King's Shops, the Queen's Market and Hapuna Beach made our stay comfortable and convenient. No noise experienced from adjacent condo's (which is a must because we like our sleep). Also a hat's off the the lovely staff (especially Cathy) at the Beach Club. Richard (owner) was a pleasure to deal with (responsive and no nonsense).

Great place to stay while in Waiokola

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for 10 days in March and really enjoyed it. The location within the complex is excellent, a 60 second walk to the pool and beach club (given how long this complex is you could be walking a long way to the pool if you stay at the other end). The unit was extremely clean and well equipped - everything you need in the kitchen, plus more, and everything you need for the beach as well. The owner was very attentive from the minute we made our initial enquiry. We'd stay here again.

The property was in excellent condition with a premium location. The owner was incredibly responsive throughout the process. We absolutely loved the pool area here and found them to be super family friendly. I would stay in this condo again in a heartbeat!!
