Welcome to Steelhead Creek Vineyards! We came to Sonoma County 15 years ago, planted a vineyard and started making wine. We love it here and this is our home. It's a beautiful place and we enjoy sharing this piece of heaven with you. We tend to our sheep and goats. We work in the vineyard, and we love living here. Come stay with us. Your casita is completely private and you will have access to all the grounds and trails, as well as all the wildlife and birds. You will be welcome here. It's beautiful and quiet, and we love the serenity and peacefulness that you will experience while staying here.
This casita is steps away from the vineyard on two sides. Watch the sunrise over the vineyard every morning with your coffee. Enjoy the birds that hang around the vines in the evening as you eat lunch or dinner on the patio. Then, prepare to visit wineries and explore one of the quaint towns in Sonoma or Napa counties. There are thousands bonded wineries in each county, so you'll be busy! On the other hand, you may want a day to just walk around the property, read a book and relax in your own private casita.
The casita has two private bedrooms, each with their own ensuite bathroom. It's easy to travel with friends or family, then gather together in the living room or on the patio for dinner, after taking advantage of the full kitchen or the grill on the patio.
When you drive into the private, gated road, you're only minutes away from grocery stores, wineries, and restaurants, but you'll feel like you've entered a quiet, wooded retreat. The property is situated on a mountain, in a park-like setting. Just minutes from wineries, restaurants and activities in Sonoma and Napa counties.
The areas around us offer drives to the coast for lunch, cheese tours, wine tours, shopping and so much more.

The host was welcoming and extremely responsive to all our questions, the casita was very clean and very well stocked, and the location was absolutely beautiful!
Love, love, Love. Exactly what we wanted. Enjoyed the animals, sheep and goats. Fresh eggs for breakfast. The casita was clean and we instantly felt at home. We talked about making it an annual stay. Thanks, to our host and hostess.
We loved our stay at Steelhead Creek Vineyard’s Casita. We only wish we’d had more time to explore its beautiful grounds. It is a rural oasis yet so close to Santa Rosa and other wine tasting ares.
A quiet and secluded casita located between Napa and Sonoma. The two bedrooms are separated by a covered patio providing excellent privacy. Owners were friendly and responsive. Outstanding views of the vineyards and surrounding hills along with the entertaining and distant baying of sheep, goats adding to the enjoyment of this stay.
The property is beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Thai was kind and attentive and very responsive to any questions we had. I didn’t expect to fall in love with the goats, sheep or Beau and Bella! Thanks for making us feel so welcome!!
What an amazing experience! Just book this place. Slightly challenging to find but if you follow the directions carefully you’ll find it! We watched tons of rabbits and goats! Thai and Cindy are gems and so kind. Would 100% stay again. And again!!
The most peaceful and relaxing VRBO that we have ever stayed at. The property is beautiful, the owners friendly, informative and welcoming and the house is lovely. Well decorated, perfectly clean, with a well stocked kitchen. The living room/kitchen area is not in the middle of the 2 bedrooms so be aware you must either go through one of the bedrooms to access the common area or exit the bedroom to the outside and come through the front door. No big deal at all, just a little surprising. We would love to rent all of the casitas and the barn someday to host our whole family as it truly is a special place.
The host couldn’t have been more gracious! We were able to chat with him multiple times during our stay when we were out walking around his beautiful property. Very peaceful and quiet! Casita was clean and comfortable. The drive in is a little nerve racking due to it being a one lane road but we quickly got used to it. We were usually in by dark. I would definitely recommend this property! Thanks Thia for a great stay!!
We had an absolutely incredible stay—truly a 5-star experience from start to finish. The location is nothing short of spectacular. One of our favorite parts of each day was simply taking it all in—watching the sheep and other animals, soaking up the peaceful surroundings, and especially those mornings when the fog would slowly roll out over the vineyard. It felt like something straight out of a movie. The space itself was perfect for two couples. It struck that ideal balance of togetherness and privacy, with comfortable, well-thought-out accommodations for everyone. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook—including a great selection of spices, which was such a thoughtful touch. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and easy to communicate with, which made the experience even better. And a quick note for future guests—the one-lane road leading to the property is nothing to worry about. It’s actually part of the charm, guiding you into a quiet, private retreat that’s still very easy to access. This was the perfect home base for exploring both Sonoma and Napa, and we’re already looking forward to coming back again. Highly recommend!

About the host
Your host
We moved to Sonoma County from Texas in 2013. We planted the vineyard in 2014 with cabernet sauvignon (mountain cab, specifically, as we are on the side of a mountain!). We brought horses with us, and now have sheep and goats on the hillsides, which is wonderful to listen to them calling to each other during the day!
We love the property. It's beautiful and full of hundreds of birds. As a matter of fact, we have bird houses on many of the vineyard end posts! At night, you can hear the Great Horned Owls calling to each other. It's common to see deer, wild turkeys, and other wildlife. While you're here, you'll feel like you've stepped away from the city, into a peaceful oasis, even though you are just about 10 minutes from amenities like restaurants, grocery stores, wineries, and much more.
The property is positioned with easy access to Santa Rosa, Sonoma, Calistoga, St Helena and Napa. You can also plan to spend a day at the coast, which is a lovely drive.

Why they chose this property
We wanted a place with amazing weather, real people, friendly people and space for our horses. We loved the property from the moment we drove in to see it the first time. It's expansive and remote, while being only 15 minutes from the city of Santa Rosa. Our neighbors are wonderful, and mostly, we love wine and good food. We are in paradise out here!
What makes this property unique
We have spectacular views with a wonderful observation deck where guests can take a bottle of wine and sit to enjoy the sunset. The casita is actually in the vineyard, so vines are just steps away from your back patio, and sunsets coming up over the mountain are breathtaking.
Then, there are the sheep and goats that bring a sense of peace, as they call to each other on the hillsides. In addition, deer and wild turkeys wander through, from time to time!
