Relax with the whole family or friends at this peaceful cottage. You will enjoy: proximity of the beach (waterfront - 2nd line from the beach, 345 feet to the high tide line, direct path to the beach), large backyard with campfire. Lower and upper levels decks. Lower porch screened in Jan 2025. The large property lot also provides good level of privacy due to preserved vegetation.
6 sleep comfortably, additional foldout sofa is available in the living room to accommodate up to 8 people.
This property underwent complete renovation in 2023/2024. You will enjoy clean looks and all modern amenities.
Pets are allowed. Property has combination of hardwood and vinyl floors that can be easily damaged by an animal with claws. Please monitor your pet and use pet's blanket for sofa and beds. Additional cleaning fee is applicable for pets.
Large parking space is available. I don’t expect you will need it but up to 6 cars can be parked on the property.
The shell of the building dates back to 1900. This is one of the original houses on Broadkill beach. Some unconventional features remained and you should be advised: steep inside stairs from 1st to 2nd floor with risers almost 11 inches, 7 foot ceiling (note, all doors are standard 80 inches). Two beach chairs and umbrella is available, conditions are not guaranteed.

Strip any used beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Don't rinse sand in inside shower. There is garden hose by the porch entrance with hot/cold water. Use this hose to rinse your feet as well as pets.
Pets are not allowed on beds/ sofa/ furniture. Use pets blanket (provided or bring yours) to cover up furniture and then pets can be on top of blanket

Public beach access right there

Great communication for check-in. Stocked kitchen, large parking area with fire area and chairs. New construction directly behind will cut down the view when done but quiet neighborhood and great area for dogs.

Great Find!

We all enjoyed this little gem very much. Our host was very responsive to anything we needed. This property is steps from the beach. There is a nice privacy factor about this home.

Great stay.

The property was clean, and check in was easy. Any issue we had the owner took intiative immediately and there was no trouble contacting him. There are very steep stairs that made this house only usable on the first level for us but it worked out. This beach and area is great for a family vacation. And we enjoyed our stay. area is flgreat

Comfy Cottage!

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very clean and comfy, and the beach was only steps away. The preserved trees offered some privacy and attracted a variety of birds. We found the property to be ideally located for exploring nearby areas such as Prime Hook and Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuges and Cape Henlopen. The property manager was friendly and quick to respond. We would return.

Pleasant stay

Cute cottage with convenient location near the beach. We didn’t really use the second level, as we didn’t need to, but the stairs going upstairs could be difficult for some. This was accurately described in the listing. Property manager was friendly and responsive. We would return. Rick

Broadkill Beach houst

The little house was cute and super convenient to the beach and the general store. The upstairs was not usable for us. The steps are very steep and narrow so really it is only a one bedroom on the first floor. It would be better for young people to navigate those steps to the 2nd floor. There is a nice deck on the 2nd floor but not easy to access and not good for kids or pets as the railings have gaps that a small one could squeeze thru. But for one or two people it is a great place- quick walk to the beach, quiet, easy parking access, nice kitchen.
