About The Owner

We have kids and love outdoor activities! Placid is the perfect place for us. We started running a few years ago and ran our first half marathon in Lake Placid last year. It was incredible!! The views were beautiful and the climb up the last hill to the Olympic oval for the final lap was well worth it.

The Owner purchased this house in 2009

Why The Owner chose Lake Placid

Lake Placid is a great place to vacation any time of year. Excellent winter sports and a great Olympic spirit, fun summer activities and great hiking all year round. Downtown Lake Placid has great shops, good restaurants, a movie theatre, night time ice skating, or a beach on Mirror Lake for swimming in the summer, fun bars and dancing. There are plenty of activities for kids and adults, you never run out of things to do!

What makes this house unique

Our house is on Mill Pond. You can walk into town or you can canoe or kayak to several nearby restaurant / bars. The kids can walk to the movie theatre in town, or a bowling alley close to the house. The pond is beautiful and peaceful. Lots of waterfowl, feed the ducks from the dock, do a little fishing with the kids or go out on the canoe or kayaks. The town has a beach on Mirror Lake and this is walking distance as well. In the winter go snowshoeing, skiing, sledding all nearby.

Great location and great amenities

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this home. It was the perfect amount of space for our family of 5. We enjoyed being able to walk to town. We also appreciated the short drive to the trailhead to the High Peaks area of the Adirondacks. We loved paddling around directly from the house. The raspberries growing in the yard were a delicious unexpected bonus! We would definitely stay here again.

We loved the place it was perfect for us!

  • 4 of 5

We love the location, our kids loved having their own rooms, the water activities were spot on for us, the fire pit was definitely a favorite and the weather was perfect! It was a great trip.

The little care package was a welcome pleasant surprise! We love Lake Placid and my husband and son play in the Summit Lacrosse Event each year - we will definitely be looking to rebook again! Thanks so much!!

So perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We all had a fantastic time in Lake Placid. The house was clean and comfortable and the view from the large family room windows was glorious. Being located right on the pond was so much fun! I had my coffee on the dock every morning with the ducks. It's a pretty big pond, so we took advantage of the provided paddle boards and kayaks quite a bit. It was just so beautiful out there! We did some fantastic hikes, went out on Mirror Lake and Lake Placid, and shopped in the local stores. We would love to come back again soon!

This is a Great Property!

  • 5 of 5

This is a marvelous "home," not just a house. Everything spick and span. Found everything we needed, including a quiet neighborhood, a great view of the mill pond with a canoe, kayaks, and a paddle board to use, minutes by car to everywhere we wanted to go. Very responsive owners - because of the hot weather they even installed a big air-conditioner downstairs to add to existing ceiling fans (down and up), plus new window fans for upstairs too. Large walk-in shower downstairs...and a Sauna (for winter use). Hope to return in the future! (Elderly parents & 4 middle-aged "kids")

Owner's Response: So glad you had a great time and withstood the heat - not often that we need AC in Placid!

The house was perfect for our winter weekend getaway to Lake Placid!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time! The house seems to have been updated recently with great features while keeping the rustic Lake Placid charm. The Sauna was a big hit and there was plenty of room to relax in a great tv/family room! Perfect for our winter weekend and I can imagine that it is an amazing place in the summer since there is waterfront with a dock and canoes!
