A quiet and convenient guesthouse in the mountains

The guesthouse was built in 1934 and has been well taken care of. It still maintains its original character and charm with a few modern conveniences. Although close to busy Highway 24, it was amazingly quiet at night. Plus, it is super convenient for visits back to Colorado Springs or Garden of the Gods. There are many other hiking opportunities nearby. Ann was quick to communicate and was happy to help in any way. She also provided delicious oatmeal raisin cookies...what a bonus! I would highly recommend this guesthouse. My entire experience was outstanding! I would be happy to stay here again when I visit the area.

Sanctuary of the Rose

The sanctuary was incredible! Cute, comfortable, well appointed, it had everything you needed for a short stay. Plenty of local information about restaurants, activities and shopping. The host went out of her way to make our stay wonderful (the cookies were amazing), if we are in the Colorado Spings area in the future we will definitely stay here again.

Stay here if you can!

We were only to stay for two nights because we were in town for a wedding. But this place is incredible - if you have the chance to stay here, take it. The host is so incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the place offers a chance at healing and reflection. We absolutely loved our stay and will be back again.

wonderful host & beautiful cottage

It was a wonderful property. Ann is an angel & helped us out a lot. I was so altitude sick I couldn't handle it and she was super about letting us cut our visit short so I could down to a lower altitude. the homemade bread and cookies were amazing. I was just not aware that I would be so sick. I would definitely say that she is an excellent host with a very cute property. She had it decorated really cute for the holidays too

Paradise

This was just what we needed. A little cottage in the mountains. The host Ann was so sweet. Wants to make sure you have all you need. We were spoiled with home made bread and cookies. The house is very inviting and was bigger than I thought. You can’t go wrong stay ing here. A big plus is, it’s right in the middle of everything to do there.

Close enough, but far enough

This cozy little suite is a great spot to get away. Far enough away from the city that it's a distant thought, but close enough to hop to any activities you may want. The local food was enough to keep us fed for the weekend. While it is tucked away in a neighborhood and we shared some of the outdoor time with the sounds of others, the labyrinth and the mountain views were more than enough to set the much needed relaxing tone. Would definitely saty here again!

Perfect for CO Springs getaway

My husband and I stayed here due to the proximity of the property to a hike that we wanted to try. The property is lovely and Anne is a warm and welcoming host! It’s obvious by the personal touches and attention to detail that she wants her tenants to be comfortable and have an enjoyable stay. We would definitely stay here again. As a side note, try the Wines of Colorado restaurant located across from the community if you stay here. We ate there twice; the food was delicious and the service is super friendly. Grab a reservation as it seems to be very popular.

Nice Little Retreat

This little Adobe is the perfect setting if you are looking for an escape. Tucked away in a secluded area yet close enough to the world should you need to venture out. It is extremely comfortable and well maintained. While not overly spacious it is ideal for two. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the owner, Ann, is extremely gracious and welcoming. If you are looking for a sanctuary, look no further.

About the host

Hosted by Ann and Chuck Benson

Host profile image
Owners Ann and Chuck Benson love welcoming guests of all walks of life to their beautiful property in Colorado Springs. They both love the outdoors and have traveled extensively in Colorado and around the world. They have lived in Colorado Springs since 1986 and have extensive knowledge about the area. Chuck is a retired architect and art historian and lectures on art and architectural history. Ann is a retired dental hygienist, and the main innkeeper. They live in the main house with their 2 cats, Max and Mim.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property in 2007 after Ann had a dream of an adobe guesthouse that welcomed travelers and people in need of healing and restoration. The Sanctuary of the Rose officially opened its doors a year later.

What makes this property unique

Guests staying at The Sanctuary of the Rose will have the perfect Colorado experience of being 'in' the mountain foothills with beautiful mountain views, and yet will be close to all Colorado Springs attractions, restaurants and hiking trails. The Sanctuary is the only guesthouse on the property it shares with the main house, and so it is quiet and private.
