Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful place! We are envious.

Our ancestors left this area in the 1850's. We still don't understand why they left!

We have had a wonderful time and truly enjoyed our stay.

Comfort and peace

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful comfortable cabin, perfect for our unplugged get away. Quiet, peaceful, yards from the river and right on the Greenbrier River Trail. We biked. We hiked. We cooked. We rested. It was fantastic, and we can't wait to visit again!

Very Peaceful

It was nice to get away from our cell phones and internet and just enjoy the peace and quiet of this adorable little cabin. We brought in some fine wine and food and had a very pleasant weekend.......

Great cabin and location

  • 5 of 5

You can't beat this location for time on the river and on the bike trail. Owners were easy to work with. Cabin was clean and cozy. Kitchen was sufficiently equipped so that we could cook all our meals since most restaurants are 30 minutes away. We appreciated the notebook of helpful information and area brochures that are in the cabin. The gravel driveway is steep. Not sure how well a low-riding sedan would do on it. The water has a sulfur smell, but we brought a Brita pitcher and the water tasted fine with it. We would definitely go back and explore more of the trail!

Great cabin

  • 4 of 5

We had a great week though we didn't spend a lot of time at the cabin. The only downside was the cow gates and condition of driveway but as long as you are prepared to deal with that it's all good. The cabin is clean, well equipped and definitely comfortable.

West Virginia Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here early October for 3 days (spouse and dog).

The cabin is remote, quiet area and beautiful. Right beside the Greenbrier Trail allowing you biking, walking and enjoying wildlife (deer etc). Cabin is perfect. Deck has ample room for relaxing, reading and enjoying your favourite beverages.

You can get to the cabin with your car (grade is steep but slow 2wd front drive on dry day works) Having a 4WD is better if weather turns (rain, snow). Once we arrived with our grocery stocks, stayed there for 3 days (need to get out to open and close 2 barnyard gates every time you leave the cabin). It was a great stay, beautiful setting for the cabin, quiet nights... It was amazing being right down in the forest next to the beautiful river and trail. There is a TV for dvd movies and or games (no cable). The cabin was nice, clean, and comfortable (well stocked with dishes, pans, pots). NO CELL PHONE service but a land line at the house for emergencies. Would recommend you bring your own hair blower (there was none there).

I would definitely recommend this property to anyone especially pet dog owners.

Before arriving we visited CASS (scenic railroad rides couple hrs north), Shoshone mtn skiing (sight seeing), Droop Mtn Battlefield 25 mins away and of course Lewisburg (15 mins) is very nice.

peace and serenity and beauty

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this cabin 4th of July week. It was perfect for our needs. We wanted to be close to the Greenbrier River Trail, and we wanted quiet and solitude and beautiful nature. This cabin gave it in spades. You definitely need 4WD to get to it, and getting out to open and close 2 barnyard gates every time was a little bit of a hassle. But we felt it was worth it for the beautiful setting the cabin was in. It was amazing! It was down in the forest next to the beautiful river, and the trail was right there. The cabin was very nice, clean, and comfortable. No TV channels but a TV for games/videos. No cell phone service but a land line at the house for emergencies. I would definitely recommend this property to my friends or relatives. The owner was very helpful when we called. We enjoyed doing the walking tour of Lewisburg, touring Organ Cave, Beartown State Park, riding our bikes and hiking. One of our favorite places to hike was Brooks Arboretum. There were some beautiful trails there, the rhododendron was in full bloom and we had gorgeous weather. Another place we enjoyed hiking was Cranberry Glades.
